Not only is Mood House beautiful and aesthetic, the service and value is also very good. I signed up for a monthly membership because I got the first massage at a steep discount. I've seen a couple massage therapists, and they're all very good. But Jordan is especially talented. He's so calm and kind and is great at understanding my needs and direction. I always feel relaxed and loose after my massages with him. I'm a big fan of the infrared sauna too. The sauna rooms are clean and chic, with lavender-scented cool towels and robes. Mood house is a mood ! If you haven't already I think everyone should experience this magical massage mood house at least once, located in the Dilworth area of Charlotte . When you arrive you're asked to pick a mood from the candles for your massage experience I chose calm. Some of the other choices were abundant,& awake. I booked for the 50 minute massage which was such a delight and I opted for the mood house massage over the traditional massage where pretty much your massage therapist talks calmly to you and whisper mantras while performing your massage . I chose firm and she definitely hit all the spots and I was satisfied with her use of pressure . Also located inside is a meditation room and infrared sauna . Had an aaaamazing experience at moodhouse. I was able to enjoy an infrared sauna and a 50-min massage with Brittney on different days, and each visit was an absolute treat. I am training for a marathon and I just loved being able to take a moment to care for myself and my body. Moodhouse is a literal mood. It's such a light and airy space and it smells so fresh and relaxing. The infrared sauna was so lovely and such a tranquil space. I got it all to myself. I loved the tranquility and all the little thoughtful amenities - frozen aromatherapy towel, hair tie, makeup remover, music to play inside. I loved just chilling inside and reading my book. She was wonderful to work with. She asked if I had any areas that I wanted her to specifically work on and also asked which "mood" I'd like. I chose Calm. They offer a traditional massage where they don't talk, but their signature massage is the Mood House massage which includes a relaxing mantra at the start and finish of your massage. I chose the Mood House signature. Overall, my massage was 80 min of pure relaxation. Work and life have been stressful lately, so this massage was the perfect treat. After having a really bad knot in my back for a year probably caused by working from home, I decided to get a membership here to see if it would help. I did 2 or 3 massages and enjoyed the experience. It was my first time getting a massage, so I don't have anything else to compare it to. Each time, it would make my back feel better for a couple of days and then it started hurting again. I ended up canceling my membership and trying to use a tennis ball on it daily instead (which has helped). Overall, if you're looking for a good place to get a massage, I think this is a great place to go. I'm sure my back pain is caused by a poor work environment at home which no massage could fix. read more

I've been to a lot of massage/spas and this was honestly one of my favorite experiences. I love that you can pick an aromatherapy fragrance and they don't try to up charge you like some places do. You sit in a cute window cubby while you wait for your therapist. The whole vibe is so serene! I've been to a lot of places that feel more like a doctors office where they rush you in and out--this whole process was thoughtful and about relaxation. I loved the "moody" ambiance! Melissa gave an amazing massage--highly recommend! She also uses warm lotion which was awesome! Oh and one of my favorite things--they play spa music you can actually hear! I'll say, the review has nothing to do with the quality of the massage. I really appreciated my massage therapist and thought he was one of the best I've ever experienced. What I will comment on is the aesthetics of the mood they are trying to perpetuate. First, they are in a shopping plaza which is nothing to discredit them, just an observation. Perhaps mood HOUSE may be an idea rather than a fact. Second, their front desk team are good and did well to show us around after we told them we were new to this place. They offered infused water at the front desk and in the triage area prior to the massage rooms. Ok, to be a little picky now. The floors were some sort of tile that I suppose were an attempt to appear as cork. They looked like they were installed in a hurry and they had unfinished gaps all around the edge of the walls. The chairs in the waiting area were hard and uncomfortable and there was no sign saying that "phone use was discouraged." It would have been nice, because after coming out of the sauna in our robes, we had to wait in the massage waiting area where there was a man heavily engaged in his cell phone waiting for his wife after his massage. It feels like a breech of privacy if he were trying to snap photos or disrupt our "mood" trying to disconnect from the electronic world for a few. The massage rooms are way too bright. The point of a massage is to be cozy and dimly lit so you can relax and unwind. There is also a lot of physiology into making the room dark to promote relaxation. Light stops the production of melatonin and other chemicals produced by the body that stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system to promote relaxation. Point being, make it dark! There are no robe hooks in the bathroom either (perhaps they haven't used their own facility to make this realization)?! I would love for this place to feel more comfy and cozy, but it seems rushed and a little unfinished. Perhaps budget was a concern. Either way, the massage therapist is who will keep us coming back not the aesthetics. He really did a great job considering what he had to work with. read more

I've been a skeptic of massage treatments and quick-fix chiropractors for a long time, so I was definitely on guard when I was given a free message for Christmas by my partner. I was absolutely in love with the whole experience! My massage therapist (Ali Stanley) was amazing! I didn't need to say a word throughout the whole treatment because she could intuitively tell where I needed adjustment, a stretch, or little extra elbow grease. The beds are heated before stepping on and the lit candles in the room create a soothing ambiance. If you're me, then you'll spend the whole time talking about old punk rock music, Hawaiian cult getaways, and the best foods spots imaginable in New York and Charlotte. I gave this place two tries, despite a lackluster first experience, because I try not to base everything on first impressions. Setting pros: Clean and warm bedding, eye masks, private closet in room for belongings. You pick a candle scent upon entry, which I suppose is meant to be special, but I honestly couldn't smell it. Setting cons: There is no quiet relaxation area or locker room. You await your masseuse sitting in a hallway windowsill right outside the massage rooms. Sound carries throughout the building, for example, I could hear the front desk staff chatting and giggling throughout my massage. In general it is not a relaxing environment. Massage: My first time my masseuse had a brace on her arm, and pointed at it and said "I'll do the best I can." She did ok given her circumstances, but it was a weird introduction and subpar massage. My second masseuse had ice cold hands the entire time, I'm not even sure how that's possible, but they did. It was extremely unsettling, like getting a massage from a slimy ghost. They also seemed poorly versed in how to massage; at one point rubbing my kneecaps, which, you know, are bone. As others have mentioned my massage started 5 minutes late and ended 5 minutes early. Will not return for a third try. read more
