I honestly love the Puttery--this was my third visit. The bar area is great for cute pictures, and the food is good. This visit, though, was all about the golf experience. Walking to play, the floors were sticky from drink spills. In theory, having bars on the courses is a great idea, but in practice it slows everything down. If the group ahead of you doesn't enter their score, the game stalls unless someone from the next group inputs it or a staff member comes over. We had to figure that out on our own. On my previous visits the staff explained how the scoring worked, but that didn't happen this time. Three groups ahead of mine didn't know how to enter their scores or forgot, so they just stopped playing. I also think the reservations could be spaced out better. Groups ended up stacked on top of each other waiting for the same hole. Thankfully, everyone was still pleasant about it. I'd definitely go back, but I hope they make a few operational improvements. read more

Definitely A pour experienced. They've went down bad in service. I ordered an espresso martini and my date ordered a jack and Coke, his drink was up 20mins prior. My drink came out probably 20 minutes later and there were other people drinks that were coming up and not mine. mine. I had to go up and check on my drink. I know that she's not the bartender, but you wasn't checking on my drink prior to me coming up to you. My food was cold. We had an understanding that it may not be out while we were playing golf so I advised her to tell me when the food comes out she told me the food was ready. I came and sat down. My food was cold. The mini golf at The Puttery was great! It gets busy on weekends and was definitely crowded, but we still had an awesome time as a family. We even vibed with the groups ahead of and behind us, which made the experience even more fun. There was a short wait to get started because they were out of the right clubs, but it wasn't too bad and the staff kept things moving. You're supposed to stop after six tries per hole, and scoring is kept on tablets mounted at each hole. The system automatically advances you to the next hole. Two of the tablets--one on each course--were broken, but it wasn't a big deal; we just entered our scores at the next working tablet. The atmosphere was great, and the decor was unlike any other mini golf spot we've been to--very cool and creative. The courses were fun and interactive, and it's definitely different from any other mini golf experience I've had. It was the perfect activity for a hot day. Even my older uncles and cousin, who are in their 60s, had a great time! We didn't eat, so I can't speak on the food, but several family members had drinks and really enjoyed them. Looking for a family friendly indoor mini golf? Puttery is just the spot for you. We went on a Tuesday early evening and were pleased to learn we arrived during happy hour which meant golf for 4 was only $10pp. They have a full restaurant with seating up front and a total of three bars - one in front and two on either side of the two putting experiences. We liked how interactive they made the point system so it was easy to keep track of who was in the lead. Most other putting places we've been to we usually forget our points but their screens at each hole helped a lot. What's nice is there are two different courses so if one is full you can try the other. They each have nine holes so plenty of fun to be had regardless of which side you go with first. read more

This was my husband and I first time coming to puttery. We had lunch first, which consisted of jerk chicken tacos and the trio wings appetizer. And we both ordered an alcoholic beverage. The wings was amazing. The jerk chicken tacos was ok. It would have been better if it was shredded jerk chicken. After we finished our food - we played 2 rounds of miniature golf. Maybe we were spoiled with pop stroke where the bar tenders come in the course and get your drink orders. Some of the holes were easy and others were pretty difficult. Booked an event for our team and didn't know what to expect, but we all had a blast! We had our own private area and munched on chicken sliders, bruschetta, and chips and dip. We also ordered cocktails and they arrived very quickly. We were even able to order drinks while playing miniature golf which was nice. Our group of 24 played and there is a bit of a wait between each hole. It would've been nice if they had different colored balls so it doesn't get confusing on whose ball was whose. I went with 4 others last night and liked that there was more parking than a lot of places in South End but after you used up the free 3 hours of parking, the only option was to pay $25 for another 3 hours. Seems should have a one hour extension available for a lot less. The food was rather expensive. Also, took a long time to come out and some dishes were served much later than other ones. I basically finished my meal before other people at the table were served. And one person at our table said theirs wasn't cooked enough and another didn't get it their dish until like a half hour later when they asked about the hold up. Oh, just remembered they came by multiple times asking if we ordered stuff but wasn't for our table. The putting courses were crowded. And a lot more difficult than I think they should be. The electric scoring wasn't working. The guy who didn't get his dish until asked about the hold up had it comped. My meal was good. But based on the whole experience, doubt I'll go back. read more

Lots of people sitting around doing absolutely nothing, especially in the "restaurant " part of the establishment. This is a fun family environment and I couldn't recommend it more before 5pm. I came here on a Saturday night at 6pm and it was mayhem. We paid the extra price for both courses and it was a free for all. No one was checking wrist bands and the lines for each hole took 15+ minutes. The staff at each course were doom scrolling and not paying attention to what was going on. We took a break and the bar was just as bad. The bartenders had no recollection of who was next and couldn't keep up with the demand. They ran out of glasses by 7:30pm forcing customers to wait an extended period of time to wait for one drink. Luckily we got Richard as our bartender and he helped us out as much as he was able to. I've been to other Puttery locations and they have never been this chaotic. read more

There's not a ton of mini golf options in the area, and I've been here for an after work cocktail event before so I figured I'd come in and work on my short game again. As a place to play some mini golf I think it's great. They have two 9 hole courses and you can either choose one or pay for unlimited to play both. There were some challenging holes and the theme and decor were well thought out . I would certainly return to play golf. I don't think I would return to eat however. I grabbed a seat at the bar and the bartender was very pleasant and the service was good. I found the food to be overpriced for what was offered. I went with the chicken sandwich and while it wasn't terrible or anything, it was just a little bland. Went to golf on a hot day, $15pp for 9 holes. Didn't need to reserve a slot ahead of time just did walk in. Definitely would not go here if you just wanted to mini golf. We did the Conservatory side (there is also the Library). Not sure who designed the course but they must have never been mini golfing before. The last hole took all 4 people in our group the max 6 attempts to try and get it up the poorly designed hill with it bouncing out of the course 50% of the time. Two of the holes are built up on hills and many of the holes have decor items that make it difficult to putt. The golf part of this golf bar stinks. Would not return here to mini golf but the bar area did look very nice to get a drink and hang out read more

The site does not work, calling in has them tell you that all bookings are made on the site and that they cant take card over the phone. They suggest you should walk in and, having tried this twice, they will tell you that you should have booked and then turn you away. The site does not work, ive tried two different emails, resetting my password, my phone and both of my laptops. I've been there at 2PM on a Friday and another time over the weekend and both times been turned away. I tried booking every time I went and every time, the site says "Something went wrong. Reservation could not be completed. This last time I am trying so hard to get a booking or get some help so I dont go again and get turned away again. Nope, cant take card over the phone and they cant help you with the site either. Dont bother trying to go, plenty of other things to do in Charlotte. The course was very fun and creative, but some holes were more difficult than others so there was a back-up with a line at a few places. The bartenders were very nice. It's fine for what it is which is some standard bar food where you can also play some putt-putt to kill the time. The food was decent but I wouldn't go out of the way just to eat there. On the food side I will say the slice of pizza I tried was above average while the rest of the things were good but again, not destination worthy. Service was OK but not top shelf and that's fine. It's an indoor putting place with food and drink, not the Ritz. The golf was fun although some of the holes we tried were just stupid in terms of the difficulty level. Some tricks are cute, some are dumb if they lead to your entire group of 15 having to take the max score on one hole. This place was pretty fun, I haven't played put put golf in a long time. This place is definitely for adults as it's a bar in each section so you can drink and play golf.
