I really wanted to like this place because I'm for small businesses, but I didn't have a good experience at all. I tagged along with my husband to Charlotte for his work trip and got to explore the city a little. I decided to get a massage, but other places with higher ratings than here didn't have an opening on the one day I have. Tuy had the next highest rating and availability. Their booking site was very easy to use. I was able to get in the next day and booked the 90 min Swedish massage for $155. Although it isn't at the best location (said another reviewer who gave them a 5) it didn't bother me bc I've been to the ghetto-est place and they have one of the best service. I was greeted by two woman as I entered and was then instructed to fill out a form. By the time I settled in & waited for the masseuse the massage started about 10 after my scheduled time. I've been to numerous massage parlors and I expect it to be relaxing. The "relaxing" instrumental music sounded like it played from the hallway/lobby, not in the actual room. It wasn't that loud but loud enough to distract the coming noise I'm about to elaborate. The music played for about the first 30 mins of my session, then it went silent. I had the first room on the left so I can hear every conversation in the lobby, who's coming in & leaving & worst of all, the sound of the cars driving by and the a/c fan. At first i thought the window was open but later looked and it wasn't. I should have told my masseuse but I kept telling myself the music will come back on but by the time it did, it was towards the end of the session. The music started again when another gentleman walked in for his session. Next, the lighting. Again, I expect dim lighting in a massage room. It was fine when I laid face down but as soon as I had to face up, i felt the brightness even with my eyes closed. Some places put a towel over your eyes but this place did not. The only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is bc of my masseuse. I didn't catch her name, but she was an older woman and she did an incredible job. Only complaint, I left like I was short 5 mins. Make sure u arrive early to use the restroom and a few mins to fill out the form! I read that the owner has been in business for a while so she should know the etiquette of a massage parlor. For how much I paid + $20 tip, I wish it would have been a great experience. I'm usually able to hand the cash tip to the masseuse myself, but she was no where in sight so I left it with one of the two ladies I saw when I first walked in. I hope she gets it! I was long overdue for a massage, as it had been about 3 years and I do a good bit of working out and weightlifting, so I had some lactic acid buildup and tightness. I got an hour and a half Thai combination massage and it was one of the best massages I have had. My masseuse was great about asking if the pressure was too much or if I needed more, and working out the tension where he felt it. Since it had been a while, the deep tissue portion was intense, but no pain, no gain! They do complimentary hot stones, which was amazing. The stretching and mobility exercises were great too. Not sure why they ended 25 minutes early when they very well knew we purchased a 90-minute session. The music was a bit too upbeat and loud for a relaxing environment. It would have been nice to have a relaxing scent in the room but my expectations might have been set too high. They did an OK job with the 65 minutes. Honestly, we probably would have been able to get over the other things if we just got what we paid for. $219 for a 90-min massage is a good value but not for a 65-minute session. Lizz is absolutely amazing, she might be one of the very best I have ever experienced. I don't give compliments lightly and I can't say enough about her ability to listen, respond and serve. She has amazing hands and an amazing heart. She truly cares and that is felt throughout the massage. She knows when to go deep and when to help me relax. Be careful when making an appointment with this massage parlor. I had made made an appointment for couple massages but canceled the appointment due to date confliction. Called in time and my card was reimbursed with no problem. I wake up the next day and my card was charged again for the same service at 9:30pm. So they took the money off to charge me again the same night. Thank goodness my credit card company alerted me of this.
