Omgoodness, this was delicious. There was a line out the door and that was the first sign that this ice cream was going to be incredible. There were about 12-14 flavors (that may change day to day, I don't know) to choose from. Keep in mind that one scoop here, is like 2-3 scoops from your local Carvel. The serving size is huge, and you can ask the servers to split your one scoop into two flavors if you can't make up your mind as to what to get. That's what I did and I got Blueberry and Caramel Cashew. AMAZING. I love when ice cream borders on custard and is so thick that it's almost chewy; and that's exactly what I got. I wish I lived nearby so I could come here over and over, but maybe it's also a blessing in disguise because I would probably become morbidly obese if I had Moo Moo's creamery within walking distance. The staff are super young, which is why I think people have likely complained about the service and the attitudes. What would you expect from high school kids who think they're the ish serving ice cream at the best place in town? Didn't faze me one bit, and they had some cool flavors. I went for the mint fudge oreo, but there was also a colorful cake batter, dulce de leche, strawberry oreo and the pistachio was also very tasty. One giant scoop for $4.53 (includes tax) is more than enough if you're in need of a sweet, cold treat. I'd definitely recommend the ice cream here, and I was lucky enough to miss the line entirely. I've been here 3 times, each time after walking through Breakneck Ridge. I look forward to it each time because it's basically my treat for putting up with all the hiking. I've never really had a bad experience here, the staff is usually very friendly and let you try as many flavors as you'd like, even when it's busy. The place itself is dark and small inside with nowhere to sit, so best to go when it is nice outside or if you are getting it to go. Came to Cold Spring after a long hike at Mt. Taurus - ending the day here could not have been a more perfect conclusion to our trip! The line can get quite long and even out the door; we had to wait about 20 mins - but once it was our turn, we were given the option to sample some of the flavors. I already made up my mind so I didn't need to (and I also felt bad about holding up the line), so I got 1 big scoop, but split it between Oreo and Butter pecan (PROTIP: you can get different flavors within 1 scoop!). The concept of "one scoop" here is more like 3 scoops - to quote someone I overheard while waiting: "this is an illegal amount of ice cream." Indeed, it is, as I had to call it quits and chuck my ice cream before I even got to the cone! The flavors I tried were absolutely delicious! Mine were classic flavors, so you can't go wrong with those. My friend got the maple bacon, which was delicious (I should've gotten that instead!). The shortbread cookie was more like regular vanilla and a good "safe" flavor. I got mine on a waffle cone, but asked for a cup on the side as it was a heaping pile of ice cream and was very likely to fall (it did). Mine came out to a little over 5 bucks - honestly pretty reasonable given the quantity. Note that they have a $10 minimum credit card charge. Afterwards, you can walk over to the riverside and contemplate how wonderful life is while staring at the water and licking away at your ice cream! read more

It's a nice ice cream shop. There have a few different flavours and it changes from time to time, but some stays the same. They also have some drinks and other items like clothing products for sell there. Good service, decent speed, and some seats inside and outside without tables. There's also some benches out on the other side of the road closer to the water if you want a view. Sitting out on the benches under the sun while eating ice cream was great, finally a getaway from the city for half a day before getting back to reality. Peaceful place, it's cute and beautiful. Reasonable prices and you can get waffle cones or cups. The Mexican chocolate was okay, had better ones before. I really really liked the cherry vanilla though, highly recommend. The maple bacon so good and the chunks of bacon is pretty satisfying, but the maple is a bit too sweet for my liking. There are topping too, although I didn't get it because I'm not a topping kind of person. It's not the best ice cream I ever had I. My life and it's not super memorable either but it's pretty good. It won't become my go to spot but I would definitely come back again if I ever visit cold spring and want some ice cream! read more
