It wasn't test drive it Wednesday morning. I drove out of the parking lot and the trani slipped. It slipped 4-5 times in the time it took me to turn around and go back to Stress Free (what a joke). The guy behind the desk said they checked the trani fluid and it was full. Then he said that I should have my mechanic tow it to him. By ommission they lied to me. I was able to get 110 miles with it slipping constantly on back roads before I had to get a tow. Stress free KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON‼ I should have been told about it. I will make sure to let people know not to go there. I am still angry about it. I don't know what my next steps might be but I intend to do more. Services Transmission

I had a 2002 Honda Civic EX, and the transmission was slipping. So I called Monument Auto Masters, to ask for a check up and how much it was to repair. First of all, I have to say, the owner has really great service with his customers. Once I brought in my car, he had explained to me about everything on why my transmission was slipping. I am not much of a person that knows about cars. They did a really great job on repairing my car. I really recommend anyone who needs to bring in their vehicles due to problems to this auto shop. read more

He was able to drop me off and pick me up from the local coffee shop, where I was able to work while the service was being done. When we got back to the shop, he showed me the brake test that was performed, as well as showed me some of the other cool vehicles in the shop. I enlisted my Dad who owns a dealership in LA to help me find the right Bay Area auto shop. He took the task very seriously and talked to 5+ shops. When he spoke with Martinez Auto Tech, he could instantly tell they were knowledgeable and they gave feedback on what was and wan't necessary for 60,000 mile service. Their prices beat out other local shops as well. When I dropped the car off they were able to take care of everything in one day (spark plugs, oil change, CVT drain and fill, brake flush, rear and front trans axel fluid) for under $1,000. To top it off they were so kind and happy to answer questions along the way. I never felt uncomfortable, unlikely majority of shops I've been to solo as a woman. 5 days later, our VW Golf died and wouldn't restart. I had it towed to their shop while they were closed over the weekend. I called them Monday morning to see if they could figure out what was going on. They were so accommodating and happy to squeeze me in without an appointment. They figured out it was an issue with the alternator and had the car back and running before the day was over. They didn't even charge me for charging up the car since I had just done my Subaru service. I really appreciate a small, local business that values their customers. This was such an act of kindness that I won't forget. I'll never service my cars elsewhere as long as I live in this area and will always recommend them to anyone - especially if you aren't a car expert and need honest guidance and recommendations. After putting on the "donut" spare, the car had trouble shifting into fourth gear. Because this model is known for transmission issues, we called several shops, and they all informed us that the transmission would likely need to be replaced. However, once we had four new tires installed, the shifting issue stopped. When I initially spoke with Ken, he was incredibly compassionate and offered to look at the vehicle and discuss financing options. When we called the next day to let him know the issue had resolved, he kindly explained that the donut spare was likely what caused the powertrain to rev. He then offered to scan the vehicle for error codes free of charge. We brought it in the following day, and no codes appeared. I truly believe any other shop would have taken advantage of the situation and charged us $6,000 for a new transmission. Thank you, Ken, for your honesty and integrity.
