Matcha flavor comes through, although there is more strawberry than matcha flavor. Still I enjoyed it. It was super creamy too, but I know some people may not like that. Matchas are made with Dona Matcha. MATCHA KINU This was similar to the Ichigo Matcha in texture. Heavy cold foam on top and lightly sweetened. Maybe because it was my second matcha cold foam drink, I was full and tired of drinking it. Matcha was good, but very creamy as expected. Matcha was quite mellow with very sweet matcha flavor, grassiness and very light bitterness. Still very mellow overall. Personally, I prefer the Ichigo Matcha over this one. AMBIANCE + SEATS Most of the seats were white boucle chairs and sofa. Metal tables. Seats were comfy, but dirty. One wooden table with wooden chairs for cleaner seats. There were a good amount of tables and seats. One unisex bathroom available. LOCATION + PARKING On Garfield + Main. It is along the street, so you will need to turn into a parking garage or street park. The best parking spot I found was on First + Main. Right across Days Inn by Wyndham and The Chicken Koop. Free parking. There were EV charging stations too. There is parking right behind Three Fields, but it is so tiny, I wouldn't recommend parking there. Plus, it would be difficult to get in and get out. It was so crammed in there. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was friendly, but the barista seemed a bit impatient as I was deciding on what to get as he tapped his fingers on the table. Then he tells me, "No, take your time." Sure, man. Would I come back? Of course when I'm in the area and when I'm craving for the Ichigo Matcha. It was delish!

Right next door, find Uncle Fung Coffee Stall, his daughter's tribute to her Indonesian roots. Here, relax in the retro-modern space and enjoy coffee and tea with an Indonesian flair. The vibe feels timeless. The paint-speckled brick walls and polished tiled floors starkly contrast the heirloom porcelain and framed Indonesian memorabilia. Small square tables and metal chairs are crammed into the narrow space. Close to opening, seats are plentiful, and serene pop blends with the espresso machine; later in the morning, the air is filled with chatter, and the queue stretches to the door. Of the drinks, our go-to has been The Putu, a pandan-forward latte that isn't too sweet. But don't sleep on the Indonesian pastries. I particularly enjoyed the Dadar Gulung, a vibrant green pandan crepe filled with sweet coconut. The scarlet, tortoise-shaped Angku Kueh is stuffed with an addictive mung bean filling. The Talan Ubi sweet potato-and-coconut treats tasted like fall. The Kueh Lupis, a sticky rice triangle with a side of palm sugar syrup, sports a spot-on Q texture, but is one-dimensional in flavor. Service is friendly and efficient. Pastries cost about ~$3-5, while specialty beverages run in the $7-8 range. The location is stellar (just steps away from the Alhambra Farmers Market), and the coffeehouse fare is uniquely crave-worthy. In all, Uncle Fung is a key member of Alhambra's specialty coffee scene, and it cracks my regular rotation.

The coffee shop is very spacious with lots of seating and there's something interesting to look at every corner. There was a short line when we arrived but it moved pretty quickly. The servers were very friendly, warm and efficient at their job. You see a fun selection of Indonesian / Malaysian desserts as you get to the counter, and their drink options are unique and plentiful. We tried two of their artisanal kopi, Kopi Susu and The Putu and tried the Putu Ayu dessert. The drinks were absolutely incredible! The flavour combination and sweetness level of The Putu was perfect. I love that the bold delicious espresso came through, it wasn't overpowered by the sugar, pandan flavour or coconut cream. The drink wasn't too heavy or creamy, it was just so well balanced it left me wanting more! The Putu Ayu however was just alright. The cake flavours were fine, but it was just a bit dry for my taste. Highly recommend coming by to check this place out! Knowing how good their coffee is, I really want to come back for a pour over. Thanks for a great time!

They premake the matcha and pour it out of a plastic pitcher and then just pour the steamed milk over it. When I finally received my matcha latte, I tasted it and it was barely warm. Definitely not hot because they used cold, premade matcha and poured the warm milk over it. At $7+ a cup (closer to $10 with tip), I expect freshly whisked to order matcha and for the drink to be hot. Update (reply to the owners's response): The pre-made matcha I saw definitely was not a small batch. It was poured out of a 2 liter jug. It was not warm so just adding warm milk over it made it a barely hot latte.

Service is good - staff were all friendly, willing to answer any questions you may have about their menu, and efficient. 1. Gula Aren Latte (5/5) Their signature latte drink that combines espresso, milk, brown sugar and cream top. The cream top was super smooth and cloud-like. The latte part was also smooth, creamy, and well-balanced. The flavor was very caramel-ly and creme brulee-like. I especially like that you can adjust the sweetness level on this drink. Even getting 25% sweetness did not result in compromise of the flavor. 2. Yuzu Espresso Tonic (4/5) This drink is a combination of yuzu, tonic water and espresso. They use real yuzu puree (not just syrup flavor) for the citrus sweetness, you get the fizz from the tonic water, and the roasted flavor from the espresso pour over. It's garnished with a slice of lemon/orange. It's a bit of an acquired taste, but it certainly is a refreshing drink. Will definitely be back.

It's nice to have a place where we can order our favorites and know we're going to enjoy them each time. What keeps us coming back is the consistency. With other coffee shops, a drink can be great one visit and noticeably different the next, but our experience with Tekosu has been dependable. Neither drink has felt like a hit-or-miss order, and that makes a difference when you're spending money on something you're looking forward to. The pricing is similar to other coffee shops in the area, so I wouldn't necessarily call it a bargain, but I'm happy to pay a little more for a drink that meets my expectations. I'd rather spend money on something I know I'll enjoy than take a chance and leave disappointed. Overall, Tekosu is an easy choice for us. If you enjoy biscoff lattes or matcha lattes, I'd definitely recommend giving them a try. Both have been solid go-to orders that keep us coming back.

I absolvely love how unique and well-balanced this particular drink is - with its Ethiopian cold brew and orange blossom water. What stood out to me was how the zestiness of the orange/lemon/and lime combined complemented the richness of the cold brew. The sugar adds just enough sweetness without overpowering the coffee. I must have ordered the Sicily so many times that they should just name the coffee after me. The staff here is wonderful and the baristas genuinely seem passionate about what they're serving. I know what I like so I haven't gotten around to experimenting with the other coffees, but I can feel the intention behind the menu! Mandarin 2 has a very minimalist aesthetic, and the space is on the smaller side. There are few tables, some smaller stool seating, and a standing counter.
