I tried their Cafe de Olla latte and thought it was not overly spiced or sweetened. The service was friendly, and it was easy to find some seats nearby on the mall floor.

The food: People's Cafe mainly offers sandwiches, salads, soups, drinks (coffee or agua frescas). They have a few vegetarian options, and two sandwiches that are vegan. I've ordered the West Bank twice, because it has chickpeas and I wanted to make sure I got a good protein source, but their other vegan sandwich also has hummus for protein. I also really liked their Beet the System salad (vegetarian), and the candied walnuts were a nice touch. Prices are really fairly priced, and I left feeling full and well cared for. My friends have ordered two different meat forward sandwiches and tried their auga frescas and cafe de olla. People's Cafe also has bread pudding in two different flavors (blueberry and pecan) as an intentional way to reduce food waste. My friend loved the bread pudding, and would definitely reorder! One suggestion I hope People's Cafe considers is to offer grilled tofu as a protein source in their sandwiches that vegan folks can sub into any of their sandwiches so that the options for vegan folks could be a diversified. I've also left the same message in their suggestions box. I'm definitely looking forward to and hoping for increased vegan & vegetarian options! Everything else: When you walk in, you're greeted by beautiful murals, zines, and posters. They often have programming on the weekends such as open mic nights etc that's organized by and for the community. There's some outlets along the walls, music played in the background, and spacious seating inside. Parking can be found around the back along the street. The berry strike waffle was a corn waffle and reminded me of a perfectly sweet lightly spiced crisp cornbread with a bright blueberry compote and fresh whipped cream and berries. The sando was super flavorful, yummy, had a tiny kick and came with some yummy ground bison and Wagyu meat, juicy tomato, fresh lettuce, tender peppers, cheese, and a hummus like sauce on a bread that reminded me of the one from Banh mi Che Cali that's my favorite. She also shared her story with me, that it's been tough getting foot traffic to her store, so if you're able to come by and try her tasty croissants and some of their drinks, please consider it! It's never too noisy in Valley Cafe, although they do keep a radio on. They do have WiFi but only one outlet so come with your devices fully charged.
