Mono+Mono is a really cute spot, and the Korean fried chicken? OMG -- absolutely amazing. That alone makes it worth the visit. We tried a bunch of the appetizers and honestly, they were all good. The kale salad was solid, the shishito peppers were delicious, and we shared the fried rice, which hit the spot. The prices are pretty decent, especially for the quality and portion sizes. The only downsides for me were the drinks and payment options. The cocktail I had tasted more like juice -- very light and not what I was expecting. Also, they only accept AmEx, which felt really odd since most places usually don't take it, not the other way around. That said, I'd definitely go back -- mainly for the apps and that fried chicken. Just skipping the drinks next time.

Just try the burger! If you were thinking about it try it! It's really worth it! 10/10 recommend and I'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu but for the burger as well of course! Service was very friendly and quick. And the decor was super nice! Great place to take pictures of, or even go to for a date.

Went here for my birthday and had the best time. Great ambience. Great food. Great drinks. The waiter brought me a rose. Loved it!

A superlative experience in this come-as-you-are Korean fusion restaurant in the East Village. The kitchen provides the discerning palate with inspired plates. Ambience is warm, inviting and enjoyable. No stress, no attitude. Come. Relax. Enjoy.

When you walk in you complete disconnect from the hustle of NYC into one of the coolest spaces in NYC. Records line the bookshelf walls & amazing fresh flowers everywhere & large glass jars of soju brewing line the back wall & behind the bar. Truly an enchanting enclave. The food was so creative and amazing flavors I've never experienced before. Every dish from apps to entrees was a culinary adventure. Plus the soju drinks were works of art & delicious fruit & spice flavors. And the coconut cake with buttercream icing was outrageous. Well done all around, we will be back!!!

What we ordered: * korean beef tartare (3/5) * kimchi fried rice (3.5/5) * Truffle japchae (3.5/5) * Fig soju (4/5) [Taste: ] Beef tartare was pretty plain, I don't think anything about this was Korean. Truffle japchae was very fragrant smelling but nothing too special taste-wise. It's hard to mess up fried rice so it was pretty good, but tasted more like Chinese fried rice. [Service: ] You do not get what you pay for, but felt bad for the server though because there's only one other guy. [Comments: ] Tables are so squished together it's impossible for servers to move around, have someone accidentally bump into you, or not hear the conversation of the next table. Good for a vibey girls night out, bad if you're expecting rich flavoring. Also definitely not a "Korean" restaurant as they advertise, it is more fusion. A shame since the interior is very cool!

Mono+Mono is probably one of the prettier interior looking restaurant out there with flowers and decor designed very beautifully! The record bookshelf area with rotating records on top adds a warm and futuristic vibe to the entire dining experience. So if you only care about the aesthetics and instagram-worthy photos, this is the place for you! The food was where it didn't meet our expectation, especially for the price. The galbi jjim, one of my most beloved Korean dish, was the biggest let down. It came with 5 pieces but the meat was not as tender as it should be, it was a bit more tough and chewy which is not reflective of traditional galbi jjim. The porridge was also on the blander side, even though it did come with a good portion of chicken. The truffle japchae was very flavorful, but the lack of meat made the dish overly simplistic in terms of flavor and texture. The best items we got though had to be the clam chowder and fried chicken wings. The clam chowder was so rich and intense that it paired PERFECTLY with the toast that accompanied the dish, we cannot recommend this highly enough! The fried chicken wings were perfectly crispy and moist in the inside, which is the perfect snack to pair with your cocktails or beer. The bimibap was just okay, nothing too extraordinary but didn't taste bad. Overall we had a good dining experience, even though for some reason they didn't have a record of our reservation, but it was resolved since we came early enough that there were seats available. No one asked to check-in about our food, so we didn't get the opportunity to raise our concerns. Overall, there is so much potential for Mono-Mono to be amazing, especially with its beautiful interior decor. Hope this helps them achieve the very best. Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

Greeted by a very kind and welcoming host. Gorgeous interior. Not sure what the theme is but it was pretty endearing, whimsical, fitting for my autumn visit. Tried the Cococane Mojito and Blueberry Cocktail. Pretty to look at but they left a fairly bitter vegetable taste. Almost like rhubarb. The food itself is average. While I did enjoy the overall flavors, I don't know if I could say it was worth the price. I thịmk this place is worth visiting mainly for the interior and vibes. Not many places like it. From the floral touches to the vinyl bookshelf seats, this was a cozy backdrop for dinner and I was in no rush to leave.

This is one of the prettiest restaurant I ever been. Everywhere is decorated with flowers. It smells so good. Fried chicken is fair enough. Overall food isn't the main reason why you want to visit this restaurant haha

Super cute interior, friendly staff, and decent food. Nice spot for dates with closed off bookshelf seating areas :) FOOD: Soy Garlic Wings (8/10) - Reminds me just like bonchon. Super solid and juicy wings with the perfect glaze Kimchi Fried Rice (7/10) - Good flavor, but pretty oily compared to most kimchi fried rice I've had. Worth trying Truffle Japchae (5/10) - Smells like truffle but you can't taste it at all. Extremely oily as well.

The vibes of MONO+MONO are so uniquely beautiful. I was truly blown away by the beautiful bookcases, dried flowers, and wooden decor scattered throughout the place. The food was a bit of a let-down for me and the service wasn't the most attentive, but the ambiance is truly unmatched. FOOD [4/5] + Squash Soup (3/5) A pretty good take on squash soup. I wish it had a little more depth and flavor because it just tasted like soup out of a box. It was also served a little cold, which was unappetizing. + 6 Chicken Wings (5/5) These were great! I loved the addition of veggies and sauce. The chicken wings are crunchy, juicy, and flavorful. A bit expensive for just 6 wings but I would order again! I would come back to MONO+MONO to try more food but this is a great place to take a date. :)

I came here for dinner per a friend's recommendation. The best thing about Mono+Mono is the ambiance. There are so many beautiful flowers, a wall full of books, dim lighting and more. It really has so much potential to be a great spot. The food is mediocre and it also got a grade B from the sanitary inspections (most restaurants have an A). I was pricey and I thought the fried rice was a very small portion compared to the sushi (I forgot a picture of the fried rice). Service was okay but we had to wait quite a while for the check. Overall I thought it was okay. I would not go back again but it truly is one of the most beautiful venues!

    Katherine N.

MONO+MONO has that dark, moody vibe that feels made for date night -- cozy lighting, shelves full of books (no, you're not expected to read them), and just enough atmosphere to make you feel cooler than you are. There's a huge flower arrangement in the middle of the room that's definitely trying to be the main character -- and honestly, it kind of works. Food-wise, the braised short rib was super tender and packed with flavor. The crazy kimchi fries were messy in a good way -- spicy, cheesy, and hard to stop picking at. Solid spot if you're looking for good food and a place that feels just a little more interesting than your usual dinner out. Service was solid, what you would expect at a place like this.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
