We have been fans of Pinch Chinese for many years and it really serves excellent Chinese food. The dumplings and Peking Duck are stars on a very strong menu. Service is stellar.

Amazing place! First time here and will definitely be coming back. The dumplings are full of flavor, great service, food and drinks. The bathrooms are clean and they smell super good! 10/10 on everything for us!!

We stopped in for thier advertised happy hour. They had 2 cocktails specials, one super sweet and the other, with doritos liquor. I tried that one... I've had the gimmicky liquor before and with habanero bitters and it was good. So I tried thier dirty doritos martini.. it was confused. They dropped chili oil on top.. which just sat there.. the olive brine didn't enhance anything.. it just wasn't good. We ordered the dumplings special..3 dumplings for $10 is a bit outrageous.. they were good, don't get me wrong.. great flavor, well cooked.. but this is a special? We also had the smashed sezchaun potatoes. They were good. No sezchuan flavor, but good. Overall, extremely overpriced good Chinese food... Service was fine at the bar. Nice looking place.

Came here for happy hour on a weeknight. The vibe is upscale modern Chinese restaurant. They have a food menu for happy hour so you can try more items at a smaller scale and price point. Even so, I think this place is a little pricey. The soup dumplings were solid with very thin skin. I enjoyed the spicy wontons but I don't think the sauce was very spicy or special. The pork and chive dumplings and the turnip cake were just ok. While the food was solid, I didn't think it was worth the price point. The wine flight was kinda worth it, because you got three wines and an order of dumplings.

Really great food, fabulous service, amazing natural wine which is hard to find, and fabulous service by everyone. Yes, it's a bit pricey for Chinese food and the portions are smaller than what one usually gets, but it's also not your typical Chinese food. Great location in Soho also.

Clean interior and friendly staff, new modern Chinese spot. However, the food was quite small and expensive. Though I liked the ribs and the dan dan noodles, everything else was pretty mild in flavour or was a bit off texture wise. Not as good as DTF

Food is great here. Their XLb is excellent but six for $18! We also enjoyed their shrimp Kong-pao, steak fried rice, spicy win ton, string beans and seasonal greens (pea shoots). The only problem is the price; it's really expensive and portion is small. I understand it is New York pricing but still...I gave one star less due to the $$$.

overpriced chinese food that came in small portions and lacked flavor. there are other places with way better food with larger portions and cheaper prices. service was slow and mediocre but the place was quite busy on a weekday

We visited Pinch last night and had a wonderful dinner. We were walking around the neighborhood trying to find a place to eat. We walked by and the restaurant looked beautiful and had a little crowd so we stopped in. They were able to seat us without a reservation. I love how they used leggos to hold your chopsticks. How creative! We decided to do the wine flight which was a great idea. All the wines were delicious, especially the skin contact orange which was one of the most unique I've ever tasted! We split the pork soup dumplings, the beef soup with the noodles, the wagyu steak fried rice and the eggplant. All were outstanding. The wagyu steak fried rice was by far the best I've ever had and the steak was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be coming back next time we're in the neighborhood!

I never considered myself to be much of a dumpling/wonton fan, but after this meal I have been converted. We wanted to try something new in the area for dinner and we landed on Pinch Chinese, and I was honestly so pleasantly surprised. I started with a Summer B-Word cocktail and it was so light and refreshing. Every menu item was truly a hit to me, to start the pork soup dumplings and spicy wontons were absolutely unreal. So flavorful, and comforting, it is no secret that they are the star of the show. I was also so pleased with the string beans, they offered a nice salty crunch and I would definitely order those again. Fried rice is one of my favorite foods, so we opted to try both the seafood and steak option. The steak was incredibly tender, but the seafood definitely was a stronger flavor in the rice overall. As for the restaurant itself, it is definitely on the smaller side, I would say it is perfect for a date night. The service was fast, no complaints there. Overall I would definitely return and recommend this to anyone looking for a new date night spot!

Decent atmosphere, decent food, prices on the higher end. Didn't particularly like the wontons, the noodles, or the chicken.

How much is a Peking Duck?

$88, and for that money all you get is the skin+meat from the duck, the usual fixins' and a shot glass of duck broth. No stir-fry from the duck parts and no duck soup, so it's rather expensive.

The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

Starting with the positives -the banchan was solid across the board and really flavorful. That said, charging for banchan feels strange to me. Traditionally, it's complimentary, like bread at an Italian restaurant so that part didn't sit right but it was flavorful. The chigae was interesting and probably the standout dish. It had a unique flavor that reminded me of a mix between soondubu and dwenjang chigae which worked well. Unfortunately, the rest was a miss. The bossam was overly salty and didn't feel true to the dish. The tteokbokki was another disappointment -it came with cheese (which wasn't expected) and just fell flat overall. For the hype, I expected much more especially because I've eaten Korean food my whole life. The venue is small and the seats in the back are uncomfortable.

First off, the front door is mounted on flimsy plastic hinges, so every time someone opens it, it swings open violently and knocks the vase off the nearby table. The service was somehow even worse. When I was there on Tuesday, May 19th from 8-10 PM, there was exactly ONE bartender working the entire place -- both inside and outside -- and she was unbelievably inattentive. My date and I sat at the bar for TWENTY MINUTES before she even acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drinks. I literally had to call out "Excuse me" just to order a $25 quarter-filled glass of wine. Embarrassing all around. And when we were ready to leave and wanted the check, the female bartender working on Tuesday May 19th from 8-10 PM was busy standing in the corner chatting with someone instead of helping customers. I haven't seen someone move this slowly or care this little since the DMV. TO MANAGEMENT - this was absolutely horrible, embarrassing, and unprofessional service. Clean up your act, and hire a second or even a third bartender.
