things... In the midst of Moili'ili is Mono a shop filled with some unique high quality Japanese goods that seems to be fitting more for travelers or that home away sense of to be with your own thoughts type of concept. The gentleman there seem to exhume the same type of eclectic vibe as he greets you upon entering this tiny shop I loved how it's all neatly displayed the various bento boxes, drink ware even super cute origami coffee brewer, on the go they have totes and bags to fill with notebooks, journal and even some books. Definitely impressed with the uniqueness found here and it is quite pricey but the value in exchange are quality you're sure to enjoy. Come visit them next in the heart of Moili'ili in the classic James M Chrones or what I've grown up calling it McCullyChop Suey Building on the corner of Moili'ili and South King Street. Thank you!

On the left is glue tape, which is a glue product. On the right is the Pentel Graphgear 600, which is a quality mechanical pencil.

This is the best stationary I've laid eyes on in Hawaii. The accessories and decors are my style, and the customer service is good. I really recommend this place because of the value put into the shop to make it organized.

I believe that "mono" is the Japanese word for "things." And this place has some of the nicest things and coolest designs. It's like a boutique that you'd find in Tokyo or Seoul. Returned to my old stomping grounds in McCully and decided to pay a visit to Mono. So glad I did. It's an inspiring space filled with office "eye candy," pens, stationary, leather goods, and all kinds of cool things that I never knew existed, let alone wanted & needed. Picked up a pack of Field Notes (Hawai'i edition) and an OHTO pen. Super friendly service. Even the customers here were friendly. A hidden gem and still somewhat of a secret. Highly recommend that you go check it out.

I only found this shop online while looking for a Midori planner, to my surprise, it's here in Honolulu. I am excited to visit sometime.. If you're looking for Japanese stationery, if you like traveler's notebook, maruman, stalogy. you may want to check them in person or online.

I'm absolutely in love with visual social media networks like Instagram & Pinterest! I could easily spend hours scrolling through photos of food, travel destinations & street art, but my favorite thing is these networks is photo styling. There's an art toward with creating a photo that inspires an emotion: recreating a recipe, motivating me to save money for a trip or purchasing a product. I believe that's why I'm infatuated with the small designs good store MONO Hawaii. This gift boutique (run by husband & wife: Dean & Cassy Song) is my new favorite Instagram account to follow, they've mastered the art of product styling & do a phenomenal job of showcasing the assortment of office supply & home furnishing merchandise they sell. If you've been looking for the perfect gift to give someone (or yourself), please stop by MONO Hawaii. If you see a featured item you love on their Instagram account, I suggest dropping by the store ASAP, because they only carry a limited quantity of exclusive items from Japan & LA.

Absolutely love this place because they have an amazing ohto pen for a price that I think is worth it.

This review is based solely on my experience with the staff during my visit today…read more I've shopped at Pink Box multiple times in the past and have never had any issues, which is why this experience was disappointing. My mom and I stopped in because she was looking for earrings. She had mentioned before that Pink Box has cute selections at reasonable prices, so we decided to browse. While she was looking at earrings and pointing out styles she liked, I was helping her look through them. For context, I don't even wear earrings since I have large gauges, so I wasn't shopping for myself in that section. Afterward, I moved over to the claw clips and was looking through some butterfly clips to see if they came in matching colors. A sales associate approached us and asked if we needed help. We politely said no thank you and continued browsing. What made us uncomfortable was that after that interaction, the employee remained very close to us and appeared to be watching us the entire time. When we moved to a different area, she followed. Whether intentional or not, it felt as though we were being monitored because she suspected we might steal something. My mom and I both noticed it, and it made the shopping experience uncomfortable. We are paying customers who have visited this store before and have never given anyone a reason to be suspicious of us. I understand that retail employees have a job to do, but there is a difference between being attentive and making customers feel like they're under surveillance. Unfortunately, because of that experience, we didn't feel welcome during our visit.

I was hoping they'd have Snoopy too but none at the moment at least. I was so happy that my husband mentioned this place and we ended up here during our last morning in Honolulu. Definitely worth a stop if you're into kawaii, Japanese goodies and stationery, but also could be worth being aware of which characters are currently featured. A lot of the items, such as their various stickers, are reasonably and fairly priced -- more so than other similar shops. Vivid print quality too. Other items were tad too pricey for me to justify (e.g. $8 for a very tiny thin canvas drawstring bag and other small pouches in the $30+ range).
