Friday. 9am. I pulled up in front of MoniServ to pick up my beloved LG TV after a two day power supply transplant. Luckily, the specialists at MoniServ are a 6 minute drive from my home, are complete professionals and carried my TV to my car for me. $125 is not unreasonable for the repair. A quick search tells me the part goes for $45-$60 and it's just not something I was a) going to wait for the part to arrive or b) willing to install myself. Leave stuff like this to the pros. I have 2 Planar 4:3 monitors digital monitors as part of my setup (not EVERYTHING needs to be HD!). When one went down last week I searched in vain to find a used one, and a new monitor of the same spec and physical size is over $700! A Google search brought me to MoniServ. Moniserv is a life saver! My 37 inch LG flat screen TV suddenly would not turn on after a long cross country move. I was freaking out because the Geek Squad at Best Buy told me that I would have to pay $150 just to have them diagnose the problem. I went to them about 18 months ago and it was not the best experience. I dropped off my 30-inch monitor and a few days later, they called to say it was fixed, that the issue was a bad circuit in the power supply, and that they repaired it. Within a couple days, the same issue came back up so I returned it back to them. After a few more days, they call me to tell me there is nothing they can do since a replacement power supply would be more than they are charging me for the repair so come and get it plus a refund. I was able to locate a used power supply on eBay for less than their repair costs and did the work myself. Monitor has been flawless since then. To top it off I had to take unpaid time off each time I had to go their shop expect the last time which I was able to do on a Saturday. So depending on the issue your experience can be either great or quite bad. read more

I looked around SF for 3 days until I found Moniserv. My Vizio tv completely went out just after the one year warranty. I called MoniServ 3 times before bring in my tv. The first call the repair guy explained to me what I needed to do to fix the tv myself. Not being technologically inclined I called back to ask again about the time of a repair and pricing again. Their pricing was competitive, they were extremely nice/polite and helpful over the phone and in person, and they had my tv fixed in less than a week. Great service and great people! read more

I absolutely love this Moniserv! It is the best backlight repair shop in the city, hands down. When my Dell D520 laptop monitor died, I tried another computer repair shop first. They kept my laptop for almost 2 weeks, quoted me roughly $400, charged me a diagnostic fee, and still didn't fix the problem. Moniserv fixed my laptop while I waited at a coffee shop next door. They were so well organized that they even emailed me updates while they were working. As if that wasn't fabulous enough, they also gave me a discount. I had a dead 24" Dell LCD monitor (paid $450 for it new just over 3 years ago) - the CCFL inverter went out. Called Dell, out of fun, and they immediately told me that it can't be fixed and that I need to buy a new one, and would I like to be transfered to sales? Found this shop online, read the reviews on yelp. Took the LCD to this place yesterday at 4pm, picked it up today at lunch, $105 out the door. Monitor works as new. Can you say honest? I brought my 28" Viewsonic monitor to have them check out the flickering and after testing it for 24 hours, they contacted me and said that there was nothing wrong with the monitor. It checked out fine and they even took it apart to check things out. When I picked it up, the boss brought me to the back shop and showed me how well it was working and said that he wanted to charge me, but since they didn't fix anything, there was "No Charge". Although I now have to find the electrical flaw in my home setup that caused the flickering, I now know of the "go-to" place to get any flat panel issue fixed. Plus I feel reassured that there still exists an honest repair shop. I encourage any one with a flat panel monitor or hd television to use this shop. read more

Okay Yelp I trusted you. You sorta helped as well as left me a little disappointed. Now they didn't even know what was up with my TV when I called (hadn't even seen it yet) - pricing is just standard on what size TV you have - $279 for my 60 inch flat screen. Now they never said what was wrong, what they replaced and not to mention it took them 3 days to get it back to me. I feel like every other review on here - they had their equipment by within hours! Now it was holiday season and she said they were short handed.But I called to ask if it was ready by the third day and they said it was...makes me think if it was just sitting there for a day or two with no call to me. Now I didnt get bad service, everyone was kind but I just got NO information at all and they seem like English is definitely their second language (if spoken at all) so I feel like I couldn't even get an answer if I tried. I could have gotten a sweet deal and $279 was nothing to fix my $1200 2012 TV (screen wasnt working) or I got played and paid a lot for a small, nothing piece that took no time at all to replace. Brought in my 30" LCD TV to get repaired (backlight inverter went out). Was able to drop it off and pick it up within a 5 day period. They charged me $269 for the work (which isn't bad, considering on eBay the backlight inverter is $200). They were very kind and professional. Their shop is very clean as well. read more

After speaking with a useless non english speaking person at HP support, I did some research on line to get my 24" HP LA2405wp display fixed. I found the very positive reviews here on Yelp for Moniserv, and decided to give them a try. I must add my voice to the other steller reviews of this business. I live in NY, so I had to ship my display. Moniserv had it in their shop for only two days. That includes the time for their very nice rep to contact me for my payment info. This place is good. I saved my Sony bravia because of these guys. I had another dude check my tv in my house and hes said $1000.00 I said no then found Moniserve.. verdict? $40 bucks. These guys are great. I'm normally not a Yelp-y kind of guy and generally don't feel compelled to sound off on all things mundane, but I really appreciated the attentive service I experienced here. They're definitely honest and all about customer service. Long story short, they jumped through a lot of hoops to help me fix what ended up being a lost cause (cheap Maxent flat screen), but never once balked or gave me a hard time even though substantial time was invested on their part. They're knowledgeable and very much working with the customers best interest in mind. I needed to have the CCFL backlight replaced on my old Thinkpad laptop, and was referred to MoniServ by another repair shop I called. They did a great job with the repair, and I was able to drop the machine off and pick up same day. The cost was less than the other shops I checked, and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout. Plus they provide a warranty on the repair. Would definitely use them again. read more

Took my TV in because of a power failure. They said it would take about a week or so. After two weeks I called back and they said my TV wasn't able to be repaired because of a broken screen. The Tech guy didn't speak English and couldn't even explain to me what the problem was. I might just be mad because now I don't have a TV, but still terrible customer service. read more

My computer died and my friend recommended i go to them because they fixed her flat screen for a great price - the customer service was amazing and when i arrived they found that the repair was minimal and they even showed me how to set up my external hard drive so i can back my stuff up. They would not let me pay them, even though i ofered - they said it was such a small repair and not to worry.
