What can I say... Dave is the man twice he has "saved" my life. #1 I had a presentation to do within 5hrs and it was around 9am when all retail stores were closed and suddenly my laptop charger was fried and soon enough my laptop ran out of battery. I called Dave and he happened to be down the street serving another customer. he had a spare charger for my mac dropped it off at my house! He's awesome! #2 some way some how my boyfriends laptop reset his password without either of us knowing or how it happened. we could no longer access his laptop, when I finally came around to it I met with dave and he was able to discover that the password was reset through Microsoft system because it was an online password... I met Dave about a year ago at a networking event in San Bruno. When I had an issue come up with one of my refurb HP products at my shop I though of Dave immediately. I have another contact that does some IT for me out of San Jose but I really wanted to give Dave a try and see if he would be a better fit. Dave Duke is the ULTIMATE COMPUTER GURU GENIUS....a MIRACLE WORKER !! If your PC or MAC has had an attack...he's the guy who has your back !!! Dave was referred to us after our desktop became "sick"....VERY SICK !! As I'm imagining buying a new computer and spending a boatload, my partner is on the phone, with Dave, diagnosing the problem. We had to set up an appointment and "SUPER Dave" was here in less than 24 hours ! Unfortunately, our computer needed comprehensive work...so Dave took it with him. Need less to say, within 24 hours, the computer was back...WELL...and running BETTER than new ! Dave Duke was a huge, huge help in fixing my pokey computer. I didn't want to have to replace my 4-yr old Mac Book Pro when it just needed a little tune up. Dave really helped me out, came to my Peninsula office and sped this computer up. Very reasonably priced. As much as I love the Apple Genius Bar, they can't diagnose software issues and won't devote more than 20 or 30 minutes to you PLUS you have to go to one of the stores. Dave is awesome. All my customer files are saved onto an external drive, and one day out of nowhere my computer stops recognizing the drive, leaving me completely unable to access the files! I called Dave and he immediately met me at a nearby restaurant to take the drive and see what he could do. UPDATE, NOVEMBER 2017. Based on my previous, happy experience with Dave, I engaged him to help me get up and running with a new computer. Again, he was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and professional. One hidden benefit: while we were waiting for my old computer to perform an operation (which took some time) he was available to answer various questions and to offer tips on matters such as backup methods, spam filtering, discount sources for software, and various other topics. I called Dave to inquire about recovering data from my usb flash drive, and he was very thorough with regard to asking me to explain the background and problem with the usb drive, to determine if the advanced failure of my usb flash drive was something that falls within the services he offers, while many other companies that I have called have been evasive and not too willing to hear exactly what the problem with the usb is and have simply told me to send in the usb drive for an evaluation, later informing me that the specific hardware problem is not something that they handle, when they could have saved me a lot of time by just being patient enough to inquire or be willing to hear me tell them the specific problem, like Dave did in an organized manner at the outset, thus saving me the time and costs of mailing in the usb drive. Dave was also very helpful in explaining to me how to back up and protect my data so that I do not encounter the problem I am facing now when a flash drive fails. Dave also gave me valuable advice on how to protect my computer from viruses and also explained why he recommends specific software (most of which is available for free for home use), and how specific software protects the computer from certain common risks. What I particularly appreciated about Dave was that instead of simply giving a recommendation on what to do, he explains why he is recommending it. I have called many computer and data recovery companies in my search for recovering data from my flash drive and have learned that many are quite dodgy and unreliable when you speak with them. Dave is one of the few people in this business, who came across as very honest, upfront, capable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. He patiently asked detailed questions, and gave clear and thorough explanations, and also answered my questions regarding protecting my computer and data, whereas many other computer and data recovery companies that I have spoken with get defensive or evasive if you ask them a pertinent and valid technical question, and many even told me that they could not recommend any measures for protecting data, and that there was nothing I could do on that end. In contrast, Dave gave me solid and viable suggestions on what measures I can take to protect my data. Dave is very knowledgeable, professional and polite, and one of the few people I have come across in this business who has the patience to explain stuff to a non-expert like myself, without any of the arrogance and ineptitude that I have encountered with many other companies. read more
