They were able to complete this in half a day and I picked it up next morning. Odometer on my 2001 Toyota Camry was having issues on high temp days that cause the odometer to not display and the speedometer to remain only at zero. It seems to be a common issue with older 1997-2001 Camrys and the solution was to replace with a new resistor (I tried replacing the VSS, transmission solenoids, spark packs/wires/plugs, new alternator and battery) per a video on YouTube. They did a great job with the soldering of the new resistor and I put the odometer/speedometer back together and into the car with no issues. Now to see if this resolves my Camry issues! Big thank you to Andrea for her prompt replies to my questions and Carlos for ensuring that the techs knew what needed to be done!

I recently visited SF for 10 days. Based exclusively on the positive Google & Yelp reviews for this…read morestore, I brought two iPod Classic units. The work I needed wasn't that complex or time-consuming: a 7th gen iPod Classic needed a new battery, and a 5th gen needed a replacement aftermarket clickwheel (and likely a new battery). I dropped them off as soon as I arrived in SF. The employees were really nice, but the repair experience was a disaster. There's just no excuse for having to spend ~7 hours of my time (inc. travel within SF) -- and 5 separate store visits (with my 2nd iPod only completed the morning of my return flight) -- to complete that work. I can't even attempt to reconstruct every single communication breakdown, contradicting message and minor screwup that this store made; pretty much every interaction was dysfunctional in some surprising way. In the interest of brevity, here's two of the more memorable experiences: * When I told them clearly in person that my 5th gen iPod needed a new clickwheel (and likely needed a new battery), they only took care of the clickwheel. When I came to pick it up, they acknowledged that the employee didn't write down that I also wanted the battery checked out. When I followed up by text, they explained that the technician said the battery was fine, and didn't need to be replaced. But it wasn't: it lasted 10-15 minutes on a full charge, requiring me to bring it back and pick it up yet again, for them to replace the battery as they should have in the first place. * For my 7th gen iPod, I spent nearly an hour minutes hanging out at their store: their employee apparently misplaced the iPod I was told was ready to be picked up, and they couldn't find it. Again, there were dramatically more snafus than these two. The store charged $150 for this work (with my even providing 1 of the 2 batteries used). They offered no discounts whatsoever for their numerous, time-wasting errors. For future repairs, I won't ever be returning here.

Shakeel! You're a godsend. I'm going to cross-post the review I left for CPR phone repair that…read morementions you, but I wanted to open this with profound thanks. You rock. The following was my experience in the last 1.5 months where I broke my phone screen twice. I highly recommend you go straight to Shakeel without looking at any other options: I dropped my phone a month+ ago. The screen cracked and had dead pixels but still worked, as did Face ID. Eventually, though, the dead pixels spread and it became unusable, though Face ID continued to let me in up until I gave it to CPR to fix. Over the phone, I was told it would take about an hour. When I got there, it had gone up to 1.5 hours. When I received the phone back, the new screen was no longer flush with the casing, instead, it stood up about .5-1mm. I opened the wallet and went to pay with the phone, but Face ID just bounced. I figured I might need to redo the process, put my password in, and paid. At home, the phone struggled to reenable Face ID. There was a sweet spot about 4 inches from my face, but even then it kept exiting to the previous screen. I called back, the guy told me to drive 20m back to the shop where he explained to me that a piece of the broken glass had likely ruined the Face ID sensor. His advice was for me to get the insurance plan through T-Mobile, wait a couple of months, then submit a claim. Not sure why insurance fraud was his recommendation, but it was. I figured I'd just use my password for stuff and eventually try to trade the phone in if it were still worth anything. Yesterday, I had a freak accident where the screen was cracked again (after going 10+ years without breaking a phone, right?). This time, I took it to Shakeel The Phone Repair Guy. He told me it would take 10 minutes and to come on by. Within 3 seconds of taking the phone from me, he took one look at it, raised an eyebrow, and asked me who fixed the screen last time. I told him, and mentioned the Face ID. He removed the broken screen, investigated, and said one second. He went to another room, "Removed the crud and buildup," came back, and installed the new screen. Face ID worked. He said he suspected that while removing the first screen, the previous technician had likely nudged the Face ID sensor downward with the razor blade, causing it to barely see through its opening. Shakeel was $10 less, humorous, did almost all of the work in front of me in minutes, fixed an additional issue, and was an absolute pleasure. I don't know how common my experience with CPR is, but going forward, if I have another accident (oh please make it stop), I'm going back to Shakeel. TLDR: CPR caused an issue during screen replacement and then recommended insurance fraud over trying to resolve it themselves. Choose your own adventure.

A sincere thank you to Evan at Mobile Fix for his outstanding service in repairing my laptop's fan…read more He showed me the issue and clearly explained and demonstrated it to me. He ordered the fan, which arrived within seven days, and was able to fix the problem within a couple of hours while also assisting walk-ins. During the wait for the fan to come, I was able to take my laptop home to use if needed, although Evan advised that I limit usage to no more than 30 minutes at a time to prevent overheating and use it only for essential tasks. Additionally, Evan is a conscientious person. I left a gift that I received from my nephew at his store. While Evan was away for the weekend, he coordinated with his mom and me to ensure I could pick it back up. Lastly, the recommendation for Mobile Fix came from a Costco Warranty Support person who, based on his review of about 10 businesses on Yelp, ranked Mobile Fix highest for three reasons: 1. Business longevity, 2. Hundreds (not fewer than that) of reviews (positive), and 3. The absence of paying for positive reviews in exchange for a discount.
