This place is horrible. Granted, I was warned by a friend about their over charging, I went anyway because it was an "emergency". I stopped in for a nail repair. Which in the pamphlet it says $3... The lady told me &10. I asked why she told me because my nails were long .. Ok whatever . So she stops and says "do u want me to do it or not" ..WOAH!!! LADY, CHILL. I said yeah I never said not to, I was just questioning the price. She stops again and asks the SAME question!!!! At this point I'm like why are u being so rude ?!!! So she starts comparing a nail emergency to a hospital emergency and say it's the same thing in her words "you're going to pay more money for emergency" so I told her to not compare those two as those are literally two different things. So OF COURSE she's talking about me in her language ( I don't care, couldn't understand it anyway) I take a picture for IG and she told me to delete my picture because her face was in it!! LOL i refused . I showed her the pic and told her that her face wasn't even in it. She stops and says she's going to call 911. REALLY LADY!!!!! She then told the male about my picture and he told her not to worry about it. She then gets loud as he is pretty much telling her to shut up. This place is not good. It could really use some training. I got in right away--manager (man) was very nice. Pointed me to the girl who started running the tub for my pedi. She then leaves me to finish her lunch. I started reading my book and I look down and the tub was 2 seconds away from spilling over and making a big mess. I called the manger to turn it off. He got on the woman for leaving the water unattended. So, this woman goes on with my pedi. SHARP PAIN on my right big toe. I put my book down to see her GOING TO TOWN with it. She cut both sides of my toe (HELLO INGROWN!!) and I told her DO NOT cut the sides anymore. They were not cut to begin with. She acted like she was doing me a favor by cutting the sides. They HURT. She's heavy handed too. Massaged my feet and legs to the point that it was so uncomfortable. I told her to ease up, she just smiled and kept on beating my feet and legs. Next, mani. I told her no pain just clean the cuticles and cut them shorter (i have a kid and work with my hands a lot). She just cleaned the cuticle, missed 2 nails, and buffed them. And she still charged me $45. I'm not going back there. Girls, forego the free drinks and snacks, go to Top Coat off Eisenhower and ask for Star. She does a fantastic job each time. I've been coming here regularly for the past few months now. The salon is always clean, organized, and well stocked with regular as well as gel polish. Nail instruments are sealed and autoclaved for infection control. They offer refreshments such as water and tea, although I have never tried them myself. I've brought my 4-yr old along with me on a few occassions and the staff have always been so kind to give her a juice and a snack (usually fruit snacks or a rice krispy). I have gotten gel manicures, pedicures, and facial waxing done and have been satisfied each time. Also, I have been serviced by 4 different people, all of whom are very competent techs, but I must admit that Nancy is my favorite. Oh, they also give you a little piece of chocolate when you leave- makes you really feel appreciated for bringing business. The things I look for in a manicure are consistent shape, good cuticle care, even polish, time, and cost- Mon Cheri's prices for their services are comparable to other salons in the area. Full disclosure, I don't get pedicures often. But I wanted to clean up my feet before heading off to yoga camp, so I stopped by Mon Cheri. It was great! They helped me right away (granted it was mid-day on a weekday) and I felt that the salon was very clean. My pedicurist opened a new/obviously sterilized set of tools for me, which I always appreciate! The basic pedicure is great and includes a sea salt scrub plus a wax treatment - all for $30! I went on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy however my technician performed a rushed manicure, not paying attention to detail and the sad thing is that I gave her a tip beforehand. The next day, I noticed that my nails didn't look too good. They looked like I was starting to need a fill but it was a natural manicure on my natural nails. So I went back the next afternoon and spoke to the manager about how I was displeased about how my nails looked and I expected them to remove the polish and paint my nails over again. However she said that it was due to the way the top coat was applied and only offered to add another layer of top coat. I left with it only looking slightly better after having to waste my time by having to come back and to not even be satisfied with the results yet again. This place is horrific. I went in on a Wednesday evening, at approximately 6:00 PM, needing a fill for my powder nails. I mentioned what I needed to the receptionist, who then spoke to one of the nail techs. That nail tech spoke to another and told me she couldn't perform the service. When I politely inquired why, I was unable to get a response. They continued speaking and finally I was told to "sit down." I should have left at that point, but I was going on vacation for my 29th birthday the next day and desperately needed my nails done. Upon sitting down, I was told to "pick color now," and asked why my nails were so long. I politely confirmed that the price was $30.00 for the services I requested, to which the nail tech responded with "yes." When I picked my color, despite being rushed to, it took not one, but THREE nail techs. 10 minutes to find the color I wanted. During that time, I politely told them I would pick another color, but they insisted they would find the one I choose. The nail tech who performed my services was unprofessional, rude, and asked intrusive questions throughout my time getting services. She proceeded to ask me if I previously used to come to the "spa" with my mother and what my mother and father did (I'm a grown woman, they're not there with me, why are you inquiring?!). She then proceeded to ask where I live and why I seemed sad and that I should smile to get a boyfriend. WHAT?! As I desperately needed my nails done, I continued to remain as polite as possible, despite the nail tech being rough with my hands, asking why I took so long to pick a color, and after she proceeded to cut three of my nails to the point where they were bleeding and failed to issue a simply "i'm sorry." At another point she starts working on another lady's nails while I'm waiting for her to finish my nails, and proceeds to clearly speak about me to other workers within the "spa." When my nails dried, I thanked her and went to the front to pay. The nail tech followed me and gave a receipt to the receptionist and then hurried up and went in the back of the "spa." I was instructed to pay $55.00 for my services. How did we get to $55.00 when the nail tech specifically told me $30.00 and the services are outlines as $30.00 in the pamphlet?! I asked to speak with the nail tech, and was told that she "left," I then asked to speak to a manager, I was informed there was no manager. Afterward, I ask to speak to some one in charge who could tell me why I was being charged $25.00 more when I did not get any other services, nor did the nail tech do anything special to my nails, and mentioned that this was probably the worst job I have had on my nails. Not one person who was working could provide me with a answer. I will NEVER go back to this pathetic, money-seeking "spa," who simply thrives on taking advantage of those who give the impression that they have money. I give this place 1 star only because 0 isn't an option. I went into this place with friends and family for a nice relaxing mani and pedi. For starters my nail technician rushed me from beginning to end. I was the last one seated amongst the friends and the first one finished.It literally took her 7mins on my full service pedicure? Ok I didn't say anything then...she then started my gel manicure and rushed that as well. I asked what was her reason for rushing? She mentioned something along the lines of her kid being in Annandale. Uhh excuse me but we called to schedule this appointment ahead of time, so if timing was of her concern she shouldn't have taken us! Long story short I had to return 3 days later because surprise surprise my nails (both hands and feet) are chipped. I came in from DC which I had mentioned to them from the beginning only to have another tech paint over the chipped job?! This is unacceptable! I am beyond upset! I am now on vacation with chipped nails once again?! This place isn't cheap, so for them to give such crappy service is really just a slap to the face. I had a horrible manicure. I had to ask to have my nails shaped and was not directed to wash my hands before polish. The polish did not dry on my nails nicely so I had to take it off when I got home. They were very pushy about offering a gel manicure after I said no, twice. My friend was also getting her nails done at the same time. The lady doing her nails was on the phone while working. Worst nail salon I have ever been to! I went to get a gel manicure and regular pedicure simple right, Well not for this place! I did not have an appointment but when I went they weren't busy at all. I told the nail tech I want to the same person that does my pedicure to do my gel manicure she said okay. A different nail tech came over and started my pedicure. When she went to apply the color it was a little bit light than what I had liked which was my fault because I picked the color. When I looked closer the color was very streaky and not cleaned up along my skin. When she was done she told me that a different nail tech will be doing my Gel manicure because she does not do gel manicures. As I was getting my pedicure done a group of women walked in and at this time all the nail techs were busy Great now I have to wait. I arrived to the nail salon around 7:30pm and did not leave until 10pm at this point I was pissed. Finally after waiting more then 30min for someone to start my nails. I pointed out to the manager to issue with my pedicure and how I was upset due to the wait. He offered nothing for my inconvenience. Only a week after my gel manicure they had all peeled off yay great me now I have to go back. I went back and the nail tech argued with me and accused me of peeling off the polish. I told the manager someone can either fix it or they can give me my money back. Another nail tech did my gel manicure or should I say just reapplied the gel polish. As I was getting the polished replied to my nails I looked to my right and there's the woman who did my pedicure a week ago doing a gel manicure. I could've sworn she told me she doesn't do gel manicures. The very next day the polish came off again. I have been getting gel polish on my nails for the past five years I've never experienced anything like this before. Also when I got the gel manicure I didn't have gel on my nails for at least a month. I will never go back to this and highly recommend anyone who is thinking about going here think twice. So let me tell you a story. I went into the salin yesterday and this man said it would be a 30 minute wait. That was ok with me, so I come back in 30 minutes and I have to end up waiting for an extra 15 minutes. Once I started getting my nails done the man that was doing them kept asking me the same questions and kept trying to do what he wanted to do. When he painted my nails I thought they looked great, but once he was done and I had to go sit under an LED light (because I got acrylic nails ) I realized that they were sloppy. I also messed one of my nails up on accident and he just put a big glob of paint in the place that got messed up. I would not recommend going here and paying $30 for such bad service. I came here with a friend because I was referred by another friend and my nails were different shades of color, I was over charged, the whole nail was not painted, paint left on my skin when we were Finished when I was getting a pedicure the nail color I wanted was to match my nails but they seemed to misplace the color and just put a different similar color like it was whatever to them. I was referred to Nancy for service by the woman at the front desk. I was there for an acrylic gel fill. I was excited to try this salon as my friend had highly recommended it. I had selected one of their bright gel colors. When I asked for her opinion, she shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. She talked to her co-worker almost the whole time in another language. I thought it was rude. I didn't feel like I could talk with her without being made to feel like I was the one being rude. A few days later the gel started to peel off!!! Ridiculous!! I took my mom and sister to have a manicure and pedicure, which they did not Do a good job, because I had called ahead to ask how much will it be and to know what will be cover with that, they told me that will include soak feet in water, cut nails, remove all dead skin from feet and nail polish, once we were there they with feet in water that they will charge extra remove dead skin from feet, so it ended up a very expensive nail polish for their toes, in other places they charge less for a better job, not recommending this place. read more

Deplorable experience last night... I took my sister who is in from out of town for mani/pedi at Mon Cheri in Springfield Mall. We arrived at 7:30P and 1.5 hour before they close at 9P. I was told they were going be taking the last client at 8P to allot for enough time to get the services done. The front desk receptionist added they try to stop accepting earlier so they can finish up and leave early. So she hesitantly accepted to do both my sister and my mani/pedi although we arrived 30 mins before the 8P cut off for the last client ... we just need to wait till a tech came free. When 8:30P came I asked to soak in one of the empty chairs because we saw several people leave and 30 mins passed without being escorted back ...the unprofessional receptionist informs us that they can't do our services because they won't have time before 9P. When did this genius figure that out... we waited an hour to be refused service! There was no apology, no offer for complimentary service because their mess up... just you can come back tomorrow--which something I already knew I could do. I was so mad ...so to keep from blowing up on the receptionist, I just left without a word with my family and decided to bring my experience and share with the folks here on yelp. This is my message to Mon Cheri you have to value your customers and their time. I understand people want to go home after a long day at work but if your policy is to take your last client at 8P then any client you accept before then and you have them wait should be seen and serviced. If you have patrons arrive before that deadline you don't get to inconvenience them by having them to sit and wait for services and then announce 1 hour later when they inquire about the wait they you are no longer able to provide the service because you want to go home on time tonight. I found the front desk assistant to be immature and unprofessional in how she handled us a customers and the entire situation she handled very disrespectful and dismissive to us as people and customers. There was notably no management presence to deal with how we were treated. I would recommend to any potential customer if you're thinking about this place as new client go somewhere else!!! I only go there because my long time tech Tiffany is now working at this locations ...if it wasn't for her it would not be worth it to even go there --the front desk staff sucks and can never answer even the simplest of questions!!!
