Momo Ashi has three locations across New York: Bell Blvd in Bayside, 45th Ave in Flushing, and Roosevelt Ave in Woodside. My friend and I visited Momo Ashi on Bell Blvd on a Thursday evening. It wasn't crowded at all so my friend and I asked the staff member for her recommendations and took our time looking at the menu. After ordering, we sat at one of the tables. There are high tops and regular tables. The staff member was friendly and our food and drinks didn't take too long to come out. I ordered the brown sugar pearls with fresh milk ($5.80) and two mini wamochi (earl grey and matcha redbeans) ($2.90). The brown sugar pearls with fresh milk reminded me of Tiger Sugar brown sugar boba milk tea. It was sweet and the boba was fresh. The wamochi came out hot, fresh, and it was very soft. It had some flavor, but didn't really taste like earl grey. The matcha redbeans one had more flavor. The menu also offered onigiri, toast, and other Asian-inspired snacks. There is cute cat decor around the store. It was a nice place for my friend and I to catch up. read more

Shout out to the poor lady behind the counter who was working by herself. She kept it moving while still getting everyone's orders correct. The shop had cute decor decorated by cartoon pictures of puppies and kittens. We got an order of build your own wamochi. We got the ube waffle, sesame ice cream, and Oreo toppings. It was $7.40 with a15% discount. For the price it seems kind of small. It was half a waffle with two scoops of ice cream. That said the waffle was pretty good: warm and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The sesame ice cream had good sesame flavor and blended well with the waffle. Passing by and decided I wanted to get something to drink. When I walked in, a seller was selling trinkets by the door entrance. I finally decided on a Jasmine milk tea with less sugar and ice. After a few minutes, my drink was ready. Think I'm spoiled by other tea places that have a more stronger tea taste. They have a lot of cute cat kawaii decorations. I was on bell blvd passed by and I decided to try something new. I didn't want milk tea I was looking at what cold tea they had on the menu. I decided to try peach green tea. Lots of seating and space for a bubble tea spot. They've rearranged the seating a few times, but maintain the pink aesthetic. The Wamochi are mochi waffles. They are made to the order, so expect a 5-10 minutes wait when you order them. They are worth the wait, as they are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I love the Earl Grey flavor! They are best eaten fresh, but you can toaster oven them back up and it maintains it's texture. The Mo-nigiri are onigiri with a few filling options. I usually opt for the tuna mayo for a quick bite. They also have PawNini, which is like a pocket sandwich (hot pocket? uncrustable?) Their drinks are artificial tasting flavors, but sometimes I'm in the mood for that. It comes with the cheaper pricing compared to other bubble tea spots. I usually got for a grapefruit yakult, which has actual grapefruit bits! The jasmine tea didn't taste a lot like jasmine at all & was alright, the tuna/crab onigiri had solid pieces of rice in it & the spicy tuna onigiri was inedible - made with low grade tuna and loads of what I believe was ginger, not to mention the tuna was starting to grey. Cafe full of cute cats on their pink walls on Bell in Bayside! Love hanging out and doing work here, especially since they serve bubble tea and cute snacks. Whenever I visit Momo Ashi, I rotate between drinks such as their Thai milk bubble tea, peach milk tea, Yakult mango bubble tea, coffee milk tea, etc. My go-to drink always has Yakult in it! If you opt for golden pearl tapioca (more brown sugar taste), it's a longer wait for them to finish making it. Their snack options are good too, like their monigiris, and their cheese + kimchi cola beef pawninis. The wifi is fast here, with plenty of outlets at every table to do work at. The more boba tea I have around Queens, the more selective I get with my spots. I'm happy to say that Momo Ashi makes the cut and I'd be happy to come back again. Boba cooked great with perfect and not to bitter passion fruit green tea. What makes this spot cooler than others is the food selection. Their menu consists of toasts topped with matcha and other flavors or a "wamochi". You guessed it, a waffle mochi hybrid. And if you know me you know how much I love a mashup of food. I went with the earl grey and chocolate. Heads up - they take about 5 min to make and are made fresh to order. Definitely an interesting texture but the flavor is there. Sadly, the quality of drinks at Momo Ashi seems to have gone down significantly since my last visit. We stopped by Momo Ashi to satisfy a craving for their strawberry lemonade, and it really just did not hit. I can't really put my finger on what's different, but the lemonade didn't taste like fresh lemonade. Flavor balance within the drink was also off. The interior has largely remained the same, but there is no bathroom access anymore. Instead, there's a sign indicating that it's a storage room. Also missing was the smell of their signature marshmallow toast! The smell really made Momo Ashi seem much more inviting and cozy previously. Service was quick & efficient. read more

This place is super cute is perhaps a phrase I shouldn't be using to describe Momo Ashi. I always feel a certain type of way coming here being an older white dude, but damn I can't help but enjoy their drinks and snacks. The Japanese Kawaii aesthetic is all over their branding with phrases like "Be Pawsitive!" and cute cat and dog drawings. I especially like this burgeoning chain (new store recently opened in Flushing, North Carolina and Woodside coming soon listed on their IG) was started by a Fresh Meadows, Queens resident (Queensite? Queenster? Queensian? discuss..). My favorite snack from here is the Wamochi hands down. While most people are fawning over mochi donuts that look like a plastic baby's teething ring and taste like one too I come here for freshly made wamochi waffles which come in tasty flavors that are infused in the dough - chocolate, EARL GREY (personal fave), matcha red bean, strawberry and brown sugar pearl. Warm, crispy outside and chewy inside make for great snacking. Other snacks include Paw nini, pressed sealed sandwiches with beef meat balls, chicken nugget or tuna inside, thick toasts with sweet toppings or my go to savory snack of a MoNigiri. They have other foods and they seem to experiment and introduce new items from time to time. The boba teas and drinks are probably $1-2 less that most boba spots and comparable or better than most out there. Update 5/2022. The last few times we've been there the place is looking more and more dated. It just feels dirtier. And the outdoor seating area needs to go. The green outdoor carpet traps sewage. You can see it and smell it. It's horrendous. A total eyesore for the community. The manager/owner needs to clean this up. There's only ever teenagers working there. So I'm guessing the owner hasn't been around for a while. It's the store's responsibility to keep the sidewalk and curb area in front of your store clean, especially if you're offering outdoor seating on the street. Keep it clean and we will continue patronizing your store. But it hasn't been clean for quite a while. I wouldn't dare sit on those outdoor chairs while engulfed in that sewage stink. Been coming here for awhile now and they were a decent spot for quick boba, nothing top tier. Pre-made drinks they add toppings to but usually satisfied sweet tooth. However, tonight was last time I'll ever be going. Ordered my usual drink (jasmine) and it was completely sour. I thought maybe they accidentally mixed a diff flavor into my drink so I let them know and the guy was quick to remake it. I threw out the original in front of them (to let them know this wasn't some scam to get more drinks) and tried the new one. Still sour. Some woman came from the back and asked what was wrong so I told her the drink had likely gone bad and I was hoping to change my drink to something without milk. She was incredibly rude and was like that's not an option and didn't care at all. The guy was nicer and said I can taste the batch. He takes a sip of the batch and immediately turns away from us as if he was going to spit it out and doesn't say anything. The woman continues to stare at us and say nothing so we knew it was an uphill battle. Tossed second drink as well. I usually don't care but for a drink that's gone sour and i know usually doesn't taste that way bc I've ordered it tens of times - horrible customer experience and won't be back bc of that woman. read more

I've been missing their food and drinks since their Flushing location closed during the pandemic. I've been their loyal customer for like a decade (from ChaTime to Momo Ashi) I've seen them switch owners, business names, and a ton of staff during that time span. It was like my second home. I would buy drinks when I arrive in Flushing and when I leave to go back home. Their staff has met my family and many of my friends and ex boyfriends (yes, i was there that much lol) This location don't have all the specials and promotions that I'm used to their Flushing location. But the staff still honored my many....Many...stamped cards, so I got to redeem a bunch of free drinks that I had been saving up. My best friend got me hooked on their earl grey mochi waffle paws and the addiction is real lol This location is so much bigger, so pink, and adorably decorated. The seating is such a bonus. I was informed there's other locations opened or pending grand opening near me, to fill the void of my previous norm. So I can't wait ! Yes this is a bubble tea and snack joint but I come here for the funky art I could look at those silly dogs and cats all day. The decor is truly a gem That being said, the drinks I've tried here are great. I love the mango yakult drink especially. Other go-tos of mine like Thai iced tea and peach/passion fruit/lychee green tea are also good here. The onigiri is bland but I'm not sure if that's how onigiri normally is. You can't sit and stay, and you have to order from 6 feet away while wearing Spring 2020s hottest fashion trend, but they are super friendly and accommodating. The drinks are delicious but my complaint is the plastic cups are flimsy af. I ordered a large lychee drink which tilted over on a countertop and exploded. It was crazy, the cup somehow cracked and flooded the plastic bag. They use to have stronger plastic cups but I guess they had to cut costs. I was pretty upset. read more

Smells so good walking in here... waffles and chocolate scents. Really gets your taste buds going. Came here at an off time, a random Sunday at 4PM with my hubby and kids. The perfect spot for a brisk Spring weekend to grab a hot tea and snacks. There was a line but it moved pretty quickly considering I was the fourth or fifth person to order. Drink variety was good ... found my favorite, passion fruit green tea! Another plus, the "combo specials" where you would get a drink (you can choose from 3 options and then 2 choices of waffles or snacks). Cool way to sample their stuff without spending a lot of coin. My kids particularly liked the Strawberry waffle and the Oreo Toast. I tried it as well and do agree. This was a fun pit stop in between meals. Totally satisfied my sweet tooth. Parking can be a hassle but usually if you drive around the residential area can find non meter parking. 3 different types of Combo deals priced at $4.99, $5.99, and $6.99 plus tax. Each combo deal comes with a drink from the milk tea menu and flavored tea. They have a selection of large 2 for $7 milk tea with pearls as well. Ordered a combo meal $5.99; strawberry milk tea with Nutella banana toast. For this combo you have the option to pick from 6 different toasts or pawnini (hot sandwiches individually priced at $4 if not purchased with the combo). They also serve Mo-Nigiri for $3 (handcrafted vinegar rice triangles packed with meowing fillings). The names for their items are cute, I cannot even pronounce some of them haha.
