This is the best Mexican restaurant in the Katy/ Houston area hands down! Don't be drawn back by some of the bad reviews you may have read. Its a brand new location and there's always kinks to work out with a new location. This whole Covid thing has put a damper on the entire restaurant business. Just be patient for crying out loud. Love Molina's! It is true Tex Mex. When I was a small child, my family lived in Tyler and we would eat at Gilbert's El Charro. My first cheese enchiladas were smother in chili and they were delicious. Years later when I was living in Houston I discovered Enchiladas de Texas....enchiladas are smothered in chili at Molina's. The taste of my childhood! I also love the Nancy Ames nachos. If you want real Tex Mex, go to Molina's and order the Enchiladas de Tejas. read more

This is a great local restaurant in Fulshear. A very nice place for all of the local families to get awesome TexMex. Jose's Dip - very good! Tostada deluxe - the shredded chicken on the tostadas is excellent. Fajitas - beef and chicken were both very flavorful The food is very good and the service is outstanding. Horrible salsa, one is vinegar the other is tasteless. That alone should make you walk out. Chalupas, puffy tacos and regular tacos are all simple and should be good enough to make you happy with Tex mex. All three were tasteless and barely edible. The get a star for great service. Went Sunday around noon - wasn't that impressed. Tacky decor, food was just ok, and the 3" plastic hair like bristles we found in our fajitas definitely knocked a few stars off. When we showed the server she said oh sorry I'll tell the kitchen then the manager had an attitude of oh that's too bad, barely apologized. If that had been reversed I would have been so embarrassed and would have apologized profusely. Service was decent but the food just wasn't that good, we won't be back. read more

Empty tables and booths and a 30 min wait because they don't have enough waiters. And there is no place to sit and wait. The hostess asked if i wanted a manager with a smirk on her fake smile. He comes and tells me they don't want to seat us because they don't want to overwhelm the kitchen. Ok, so you make your customers stand and wait for 30 min. No apologies, just an offer to bring me a chair so i can sit and watch the empty tables. No thanks and left. He says have a good night. No apologies!! read more

This was our third time to visit Molina's. The first two times I wasn't very impressed but our latest experience was a definite improvement. We started with the fajita nachos which were good. My wife had their chimichurri chicken tacos while I had their flautas. My meal was good but my wife couldn't stop talking about how good the tacos were. This is a newer restaurant which appears to have caught their footing. It's a great location for us and we plan on going back. read more

Stopped by for the first time for lunch as we were in the area. Great ambiance. Sat outside in their patio and enjoyed their newly installed outdoor heaters on a 55 degree day and the heaters worked great. Food was really good and hit the spot. Kids enjoyed their kids menu selections as well. Staff was so nice and accommodating. Manager came to check on us throughout the meal to make sure everything was great. Molina's staff is bright and young and enthusiastic to help. However, the food is even better. It is apparent why these folks have been serving supper in Houston since 1941. It's difficult to find the right descriptor for the essence of their culinary products. Some that come to mind are; fresh, clean, natural, superior. Their dishes have a tangible division of flavors. What I mean by this is that you don't need to have a clever palate to know, as you have a spoonful of something as simple as black beans, that you are now aware of several layered individual ingredient flavors. That's what going out and eating is all about. It costs a little more than an nice neighborhood Mexican style restaurant, but far less than the higher profile ones, yet serving some selections better than both. For instance, I do not believe that any other restaurant could possibly serve a better grilled fish taco. read more

They've been open long enough to get their act together. We decided to give them a try last night, we should have stuck with our old standby, Hacienda Real, which is nearby. We ordered it to go. The red sauce is absolutely horrible, couldn't eat it. The guacamole was thin and runny, too much lime juice I think. My husbands fajita chicken taco salad was basically a shell full of lettuce with about 1/4 cup chicken on top. No,cheese, no dressing, nothing extra! My dinner was a combo, the cheese enchilada was tasteless and cold. The taco was soggy and the tostado was soggy as well. Third try this time and you've struck out all 3 times. Adios Molina's, there's far better Mexican food within 3 minutes of thIs location. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE! Not only did they mess up our order but the second round of drinks too. It took 1 hour and then some for them to bring the food out just for it to be something completely different from what was ordered, so another 15 mins go by to get to correct one. Don't get me wrong the food was good but so not worth the almost 2 hours wait. AND all that for the server Dave to not even come tell us he messed or apologize for his screw up? Like really. The manager was even hiding from the problem and didn't show his face, super unprofessional establishment. Not worth a second try. Y'all avoid this place, you're better off at Gringos. read more

I went in the last week and Sergio had hosted us and the amount of knowledge and expertise he possesses is incredible. He was polite, funny, and even gave me a few suggestions on what was the best to eat at Molinas. First- I've been a fan of Molinas for over 30 years. The Westheimer location was excellent, as was the old Buffalo Speedway location. Was very excited to hear this one was (finally) opening... The good: Nancy Ames natchos are still excellent. Margaritas are still small but deadly. One isn't enough, two is too many, three isn't enough....Food overall is still very good. The bad: Service here still suffering from newness. So slow on the appetizers. They have come out after the meal both times I was there. Charro beans are watery. The cup was full of water and the beans started 1" deep. Maybe 2 or 3 spoons of beans in a cup of water. Fajitas aren't that great. Need something. Waiters are new- local high school kids. They are trying, but green. They forget to bring what they just said they would, don't check on you after the meal was (eventually) delivered. The check takes too long to process. That sort of thing. This will get better- let them work out the newness. read more

Wow. What a disappointment in this Molina's. My husband and I both thought the food was barely mediocre. My shrimp tacos were just a couple baby shrimps with a half-a-head of shredded lettuce on the top. I had to dig through the lettuce for the tiny shrimp. My friend's tacos also had little meat inside, and if you upgrade to fajita meat, you pay an extra $2.00 PER TACO!!! The staff takes away the drink glasses and plates without asking , before we were finished. You can't say "Hey wait, I wasn't done with that yet!" because she already put it on the dirty dish pile. Same thing with the margaritas. I always thought it was polite to ASK the client if they were finished before you whisk dishes and glasses away???? Yes, I really did want those last TWO SIPS of MY MARGARITA that I paid $7.50 for!!!! If they ask if you want charro beans or refried, realize that rice and beans are an extra $2.75,in addition to the cost of your platter. They also upcharge EVERYTHING - be sure to ask if there is an extra charge for ANYTHING, otherwise you'll be surprised when the bill comes. read more

If you want queso, just go to the gas station and get it there at a fraction of the price. Tastes like raw flour and velveeta, asked the waiter if the queso was missing something since it had no chiles, tomato's, etc, he said yeah that's how we make it, it was just melted velveeta. Margarita and mojito were awful just bitter no sweetness. Ordered frozen margarita got it on the rocks, one dish out of two was wrong, steak was chewy, but had good flavor, that's about it. Really nothing good, tried it once and I'll stick with one of the many Tex mex places around here that actually have good food. read more

The restaurant is very nice and staff is friendly and attentive. We order the beef fajitas for two and they are delicious. Only bad thing is I think everything is way overpriced, for example if you want to add extra items to your fajitas then a "jumbo" shrimp was almost $4. Service was great. Several people came by to see if we were ok or needed anything. However I didn't like the food that much. The enchiladas de tejas were meh. The beans and rice were ok. The wife had the carne asada. I didn't like it. Had a weird Smokey taste to it. Those flour tortillas that came with the dish were way under cooked.
