My friends and I came here just to check it out late night after dinner. They had a live musician that was playing some classic songs. The room was pretty small, but they do have an outdoor area which I forgot to look at. Some strangers do end up sharing the same tables. We also saw one or two individuals just reading or working. The tables and chairs are pretty steady. It's kind of interesting because all their chairs are different. They kind of give that thrift store book vibe so it's very unique themed. the noise level with the music is like a five out of 10 it's loud but not too loud. You can still hear your friend, but you do need to speak a little bit louder, but you're not like yelling at your friend so they can hear you. The drinks options are limited however they do have a seasonal menu . The elderflower bees, knees and the lavender lemon drop were pretty good. I am interested to see what their next seasonal menu will be. I don't think they had snacks to eat with your drinks, I didn't see it on their menus. I think this place will be good for like a 2 to 3 people get together or it after dinner date nightcap . During the day, maybe study or working or reading one of their many books! It's a really cute place to be at for downtown Richmond. Parking is free and out front.

I went on a Sunday afternoon so I am not sure what the crowd is like on any other day. So please read with that in mind. Upon first entry, the concept is very cute and the store has a cozy feel. It makes you really want to relax and read a book. It would really "hit" if there were more couches or loungers to better compliment the atmosphere. So why the three stars? One reason is because when I entered, I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb. The place was packed and it was like the DJ scratched the record when I walked in. I kept it moving and started to view the books they had. There were two young ladies that were also looking at the books. I later found out one of the ladies worked there but again, it felt very distant. There was another young lady that came over to the bookshelves and the employee greeted her and asked if she needed help. So you know I gave the side eye because I didn't get treatment and it is how I realized that the young lady worked there. I can tell it is a place where the locals gather to read and fellowship. There was a group of about 10-12 ladies there having a meeting of the minds. There were people who were solo and groups all reading or getting drinks. So there was movement and support for the book bar for sure. It's not a large book store in terms of the books that are available. I am not sure if the book bar is more of a library concept or if you can purchase books. I attempted to ask the lady at the bar but she was preoccupied with preparing drinks for customers and either chose not to hear me or although it was not loud in there, she really couldn't hear me. I searched for the young lady that was at the bookshelves to ask her but she disappeared. In terms of the genres of books, there seemed to be more fiction than any other genre. There are other genres available such as historical, religion and spirituality but again, the other genres are limited. There is outdoor seating as well if you would like to enjoy the sun and a good book. I would recommend this book bar if you just need to get out and read a book or to meet a friend to study.

The Lit Bar is my new favorite escape. I spent an hour here and didn't want to leave. The drinks were great, the jazz music set the perfect mood, and even the bathroom was beautiful! you can tell every detail was crafted with love. It has that warm, small-town, community feel, and the book selection is amazing; everything from art to business to fiction. A true gem!

Would you believe me if I told you that Richmond, TX has a small independent book store with live music and a full bar? Sounds too good to be true right? Well, it's not! LIT Bookbar is located in a small shopping strip in the middle of downtown Richmond. The parking lot is a bit small, but we had no problem finding a spot on a Friday evening. It was pretty busy, however we were able to grab a table when we arrived. They have a patio out back if you're unable to find seating inside. The cocktail menu has some interesting drinks. I started with the Clover Club which is a gin cocktail. I enjoyed the raspberry flavor and I loved the froth from the egg white. I followed that with an Aviation Martini (such a classic). I tried a sip of the Blockhouse Martini and it was so good! If you like espresso martinis, you will enjoy this one. I wanted to try the Vesper Martini, but the bartender warned me it's very boozy so I refrained. Next time, I will start with that drink because she piqued my curiosity. They have mocktails and they're reasonably priced (less than $10). You can of course add booze to make it a cocktail. They also have wine and beer. The duo that performed (Alfie & Ignacio) were good. I liked that the volume wasn't too loud to have a conversation. As for the books, they have a nice variety of genres. You can reserve a time for your book club or rent out the store for a private event. They also host events like trivia, silent book club, and author signings. They have merchandise for sale including reading glasses which is just genius! Richmond is a bit of a drive for me, but I'm willing to take a mini road trip to support local. Books, booze, and live music! What more could you ask for?!

What a cute find! I arrived on a Sunday afternoon with some girlfriends (have to give credit to finding this gem to one of my friends). We were a group of 5 and there were 2-3 bartenders when we were here. It wasn't very busy at all, but it is a smaller place. The decor perfectly blends a quiet, cafe feel with a fun, speakeasy vibe - you can easily sit and visit with friends or work/study in peace, while enjoying a cocktail or mocktail. Definitely worth checking out!

What a cute place, read a book while you have a cocktail or just relaxing while they have jazz music playing in the background,,great atmosphere great book selection, great drinks! Come by while you visit Richmond TX.

My wife kept telling me about this place. I didn't know what to think. As soon as I walked in, I got an immediate cool vibe about the place. Very chill, very laid-back very mellow. It's not crazy. It's not wild. It's just there. A great place to begin your Friday night, or end it either way! Friendly waitresses and a cool lady playing some tunes a cappella.

Cute and cozy bookstore. They even sell readers if you forgot yours or need some. A decent selection for the size of the bookstore. There is a seating area and also a bar that serves mixed drinks amongst other things. Young adult, fiction, cookbooks and kids books available. They also have a few board games.

I love this place, it's perfect for you to chill/read/study by yourself or with your friends. The owner has books from local authors and other famous reads. There is a book for everyone. The two mocktails my group and I tried were refreshing! It was fun to watch the owner make them and you can set up a tab with her and clear it at the end. The books are reasonably priced and honestly, the great gatsby/ moody 1930s vibe inside the bookstore bar is exciting! It's just what the area needed. Great drinks and amazing vibes!

We came on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. They don't have a ton of seating. We ordered some mock tails and they were delicious! Wish the place was a little bigger as you're kind of on top of people while you look at books. They had a good selection of books and a small outdoor seating area too. Cute place to get some drinks and read!

Oops I said I wasn't gonna cuss. Y'all first of all get the red beans. Next get the fish and shrimp. And try whatever else you want to after that because I'm pretty sure it's gonna be amazing. I walked in the door after driving a good 50 minutes because I wanted something different than what I'm accustomed to eating on the other side of Kati and it was well worth the drive. The vibe of the spot is nice. After a long day at work, you just wanna buy your head and vibe out have a nice little Cosmo chill this is the spot for you. The young lady behind the bar was extremely nice and patient because I had no idea what was on the menu and she was more than willing to make recommendations. After getting my food, I told her how far I had driven and she told the ladies in the kitchen into my surprise, this Ashley came from the back and introduced herself. It was just nice to support a business where management takes time to just appreciate their customers. But back to these damn red beans because when I say they are bussin, they are Bussin. Anyway, you owe it to yourself to check the spot out. I hadn't written a review in a minute because none of the spots that I stopped at was delicious enough for me to just be like oh damn, I want to write a review but this spot right here yeah they did that! I'm coming back because I want some shrimp and grits. The ones I saw on the picture lol. Ceaser out!

The wait time was as expected for that amount of people to come in. I had the fire roasted salmon and I loved it. It was a great contrast of differing textures and flavors. They do an excellent job in trying to accommodate everyone and they made an effort to regularly check in. This place has that woody, western vibe to it. The ahi tuna wasn't the best. It wasn't fresh and the feta cheese was a bit too overwhelming. As for the spinach and artichoke dip, I felt like it was okay. Didn't really like the tomatoes as it made the dip runny and hinder the taste from the star ingredients of the dish. The smoked gouda burger was the best. The meat was cooked perfectly and the amount for each ingredients were given generously. I also really loved how you really can taste the smokiness from the bite. As for the pasta, I thought that it was good but not the best. It was starting to get a bit heavy with the amount of cheese and I do wish the cajun flavor could be a bit stronger. The chicken was also on the dry side but it's still pretty decent. Overall, this place is okay. Service could've been a bit better since it took a while for us to find someone to help us on our water refill and check.

The problem came when it was time to check out. The guy on the first register from the checkout line to the left around 1:45pm on December 24, 2024 is the reason I am leaving this review. My mom and I were next in line to checkout and the other registers were occupied by other customers alsobchecking out. When the young cashier guy finished ringing up his customer instead of checking us out next, he walks off and pretends to busy himself with something which was very obvious he didn't want to ring up anyone BUT when the next register opened up and my mom and I walked to the next cashier he immediately went back to his register to take the next customer behind us. At that moment it was extremely clear he didn't not want to ring us up for whatever reason but that was extremely rude! I don't want to say race was a part of it but I can't think of any other reason he choose to intentionally not ring us up when we had the same amount of items the customer he helped before and after us had. This really messed up our first time experience at Ollies. The cashier lady to the right side we ended up going to was very nice and signed my mom up for the Ollies Army rewards. After we left I called and spoke to the manager, I think his name is Mike or Michael. I explained what just took place and he was very nice and said he will run the cameras back and also notify upper management. We appreciate him for hearing our concern and not dismissing us. Hopefully the cashier takes a customer service course or finds a new job where he free to be rude else where. This was very upsetting to be treated the way we were and it being obvious in plain sight. Hopefully a real consequence for the young boy comes out of it.
