We ate here for our anniversary. The food was just okay. The best part of the meal was the chips. The entire cost was $173, which includes the tip. For the cost, it was just absolutely not worth it. We were originally sitting outside but there were ants dropping from the roof so we moved. The blue corn bread was cold and dry. The salmon was okay. The banzine was just okay. Unbelievably disappointing. Not only was it a terrible experience but their "attempt" to rectify our horrible experience was a huge FAIL First, I'll start with our dinner experience. We elected to sit outdoors, but only minutes later was a very large party sat at the table next to us (14 ppl) no regard for the current pandemic... Our waiter was pleasant, we ordered an appetizer of guacamole for the table, a lobster roll, fried chicken and 3 salads... we had to ask for tortillas for the guacamole three times... Then the people who ordered the lobster roll and the fried chicken were served and then there seemed to be about a 15 minute wait until the salads were served. My mom who had ordered the fried chicken was there two weeks ago and was raving about it... When they put it in front of her the first thing she said was "what is this?"... it was nothing like what she had eaten two weeks prior and the portion was also half the size. After about 10 minutes of waiting for our other family members salads to be served we decided to start eating because our food was getting cold. The chicken was overcooked and leathery and the asparagus was overcooked, slimey and limp. The lobster roll was good, however the accompanying fries were cooked so long they were like sawdust inside. The salads arrived (finally, I had already finished the lobster roll and the fries were inedible, so I was basically finished before my family members got started) their salads were half good. Let me explain. The lettuce and the dressing were great the chicken was not edible, it was so overcooked I needed a chainsaw to get through it. For fear of losing a tooth, the chicken wasn't consumed. My uncle exchanged his salad for the burger and asked for medium rare, showed up 15 minutes later burnt to a crisp. Everything about this dinner was a tremendous fail and HUGE disappointment. Then... After 45 minutes, only two people have eaten and the manager comes over to apologize for all of the issues. What does he do to make us happy??? He offers us a piece of their Keylime pie! On the house! Are you kidding me??? Only one person had dinner and the experience was awful. I was so pissed off I went inside to speak with the manager and basically tell him what he needed to do which was comp the meals that were not edible and he said he would... I believed him... I had to rush out the door but got a phone call not even five minutes later from my uncle telling me that he just paid $170 for that disaster! I immediately called back and asked to speak with the manager who all of a sudden became a real jerk (totally different than my brief conversation with him at the restaurant) and I told him that this was completely unacceptable and I wanted to speak with the owner. He told me I could call back in the morning and speak with Miguel. I can't even tell you how infuriating to sit and have a miserable dining experience, leave thinking you're being taken care of and then to have that second terrible experience on the phone. A little while later I got a phone call back from Michael, the manager who said he spoke with the owner and they offered me a $50 gift card to come back. Absolute insanity! Do you really think at this point that I want to come back??? EVER?!?!?! Still hoping to receive a phone call from Miguel today with the news that our meal has been completely refunded because at this point Miguel, that's about the only thing you could do to even attempt to turn the situation around. Last I remember food service was part of the hospitality industry people, you need to get it together or you will be gone. And I'm pretty sure that in these times, you want to do whatever you can to make people happy to ensure they came back... Another note... This review is being left during a global pandemic and what I didn't see on the way in but did see on the way out was a notice saying that masks were not required. I will say that had I seen that sign on the way in this dining experience never would've happened because we would've turned around and left. read more

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now and my fiancé and I finally got a chance to go on yesterday for brunch. Upon arrival, it was a bit chaotic. We tried to get there as soon as they opened since we did not have a reservation, but the hostesses seemed a bit unorganized when trying to be seated. With the restaurant being barely filled, it was still a wait. We asked to be seated outside and were told they could make those accommodations, only to be seated inside. We didn't put up a fuss since we were on a time crunch and had already been waiting. Once seated, our dining experience improved. We were greeted by Maria, our server, who took our drink and food order. For drinks, we ordered a pitcher of sangrìa brilliante. It was very refreshing and perfectly made. For entrees, we ordered the shrimp enchiladas, omelet mariscos and the French toast. Everything was amazing! The food definitely made up for the service. The food... ehh there lies the issue. It's not good. I hate to say that but it's not. At all. I had the paella, which is one of my favorite foods, it was bland. I was shocked Bc it's a very tasty meal. Supposed to be well seasoned but this was not. It actually hurt my feelings. I thought about taking it home and cooking it again but for 30 bucks I shouldn't have too. I couldn't even finish it so I ordered the wings. Big no. I heard about this place TikTok as one of the best places for brunch in Atlanta- and boy it did not disappoint! We made reservations in advance which I would recommend as this place does fill up fast. They had 4 different mimosas to choose from but we went for the classic and the OJ to Prosecco ratio was on point! I tried the Spanish frittata and added crema and guacamole on the side. The frittata was was so flavorful it instantly became a fav at my table. The potato casserole was served in a mini cast iron skillet- so cute- covered in cheese and assorted peppers. I could have done w/o the biscuit mainly because it doesn't seem like their was an option for any jelly/jams. Overall a great place with cute outdoor seating. The views of the water, band playing and string lights all created a beautiful environment. But the most important part is the food....and that is where they fell short. My drink was delicious, I ordered the refresco de sandía and was not disappointed. My companion ordered a margarita and it was not good at all. Tasted like watered down lemon water. They ordered a strawberry margarita, which replaced her original drink at no cost, which they found much more satisfying. Now...the food. The ceviche was delicious and the blue corn bread is to DIE for (regretted not ordering a second order to take home), the Spanish meatballs lacked flavor and also tasted like plant based meat...even though it is not. I ordered the crab enchiladas as an entrée. They are overpriced at $32.00 but they come STUFFED with crab meat. These lacked flavor also and were dry. It appeared that they just placed crab meat in tortillas, rolled them and drizzled sauce on top. And looking back at the menu...that is the description..so I guess shame on me for expecting "more". My companion ordered the paella and found it lacking flavor and very soupy. I would go back to Mojave for drinks and corn bread only and to vibe out on their fabulous patio. read more

Went there for anniversary. This is the first restaurant we went to since covid. Its little crowded than we anticipated. Place was busy on a Thursday. They were wearing masks but I dont see any other measures being taken. Seating is a bit too close. Luckily we made a reservation and there are only two spots by the river that are sort of isolated. They are the best spots in the place. Having a spot by the lake isnt as beautiful as you'd expect. Lake is sorta dirty and unmanageable. It brought in some mosquitoes and flies and some other insects. That was fine for us, and didnt bother us much. After a drink we felt comfy and indulged in our talk. The speaker on the patio doesnt work? We're kinda glad it didnt. May be it is intended. Drinks were great. We ordered just one drink each and they were good. Food came in just about the right time as we were about to finish the drinks. We didnt take any pictures but they were presented very nicely. Delicious. Clean. Carefully made. We enjoyed the meal. I enjoyed the atmosphere on a Friday evening after work - there is live music. I ordered the ceviche and lamb chops entree. The ceviche was okay - I would not order a second time. Unfortunately, I would not order the lamb chops again either. Outside of the sweet chile sauce that is on the lamb chops, there is no flavor. It is just charred lamb chops. They are also very tiny - as others have stated. The potato and asparagus side dishes that came with it were good. Management was not accommodating to the customers needs. Due to a personal issue with the current table, I asked to be moved to another table, since there were open tables inside and outside. Ok. So decided to try Mojave for my birthday after it was recommended by a friend. The atmosphere was cute. We sat by the window overlooking the water and I just knew I was in for an excellent dining experience. Not even close. It took 15 minutes of us sitting at the table for a server to address us. When they finally did, we decided to try the blue cornbread which was delicious. Unfortunately, this was honestly the best part of the meal. We got the wings and the loaded tostada dish. The tostadas were bland and lacked salt. I had to douse mine in lime juice for a little flavor. The wings were burnt to a crisp when they first came out so we requested new ones. The new ones were cooked perfectly except for one thing...there was no flavor whatsoever! No salt, no chipotle taste, no smoky flavor. No bueno. I had the steak salad for my entree and it was alright, but again I had to ask for the cilantro vinaigrette to give it some flavor since the avocado crema had none. Drinks were good. And probably the only thing I'd ever come back for. This food desperately lacks seasoning. Listen to the reviews y'all. read more

Mojave is a beautifully decorated place. Parking is a little weird not a lot unless you valet it's huge space that was unused to be honest. The appetizers guacamole and queso were great. However, blue cornbread wasn't really moist and the food was not worth the value. My friend asked for peach sangria and received a different drink that looked similar to ours. Drinks were good and service from our waiter was great she was nice and accommodating. Honestly I'm not sure what's going on with food even the replacement meal my friend order to replace her food she didn't like it. Went here for their Saturday brunch. I had no reservations but called about 30 minutes before arriving with a party of 8 and they were very accommodating and able to find a table for my party. The service was amazing we had a gentleman by the name of Skylar who was pleasant and attentive. We ordered the bottomless mimosa which were fairly priced. The food was excellent; I ordered the crab cake which was great and my friends had the seafood omelet (I tasted it and was jealous it was so good!). It's okay for the scale of the restaurant BUT Covid. The young men had no mask on, no gloves. I definitely didn't see hand sanitizer on their station so it was a hard no for me. The blue corn bread came with a savory honey butter sauce! We also ordered the French toast, steak tacos, shrimp tacos, chick tacos and Mexican rice. This is our spot we visit every week, sometimes multiple! We go for the drinks and food but mostly because of the service. Iago (hopefully spelled that right) is our favorite bartender. They are all good and attentive but he's top notch! The place is tucked away in an area with not much else around which is perfect because it's very much a local secret I feel like. The location has changed names/owners a few times in 10 years but this time around Mojave is a winner. The portions are big and fair value imo. It's a little pricey but you're getting what you pay for. Good service, happy employees make for a great evening for customers. I can get super busy especially during their brunch so make reservations on busy nights and you'll be in good shape. Oh and try the espresso martini. Iago makes the best ones. read more

WOW!!!!! I'd give them 10 stars if they'd let me. We went out on a double date night last night. The couple that went with us had been here before and had told us about the menus, portion sizes, service and atmosphere. LOL they weren't joking around! HOLY CRAP they were good they did cover tunes from Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, Lynrd Skynrd, country LOL everything but gangsta rap and they were really good. I don't know their name but if I owned that place they'd be on my speed dial. So Julia comes to our table and the nicest lady you'd ever want to meet, we ordered two appetizers guacamole and ceviche and phenomenal, we we're going to reorder drinks and she pointed out that a pitcher was a better value and as a numbers guy it took me all of a half second to confirm she wasn't just upselling. Such a great brunch experience. The server, Iago (sorry if misspelled) was INCREDIBLE. He was patient with us, being first time diners, and gave amazing recommendations. I had the white sangrias and it was some of the best I have ever had. Another member of our party got the hibiscus cava and the gin fruit punch which were both great! For brunch food they had great portions and very flavorful food. I got the Spanish frittata with potatoes and it was so tasty. Well cooked chorizo which can be hard to do, fresh salsa verde and perfectly cooked skillet potatoes. The rest of our party got huevos rancheros and the seafood omelette. This is for sure a hidden gem. The outside of the restaurant is very pretty and eye catching, the inside is just as nice. I've been for brunch and dinner. The food and drinks are very good. This restaurant is located on the side of a river so it offers a nice view if you get a window seat. I've ordered the shrimp ceviche, salmon croquettes, mixed grill and the ancho steak. The shrimp ceviche is super fresh and so good. The salmon croquettes is seared salmon served over poached eggs with spinach. I would highly recommend this restaurant. There is plenty of parking and I've never had to wait to be seated. They have a nice outside dining area as well. The staff is helpful and as a precaution they are currently wearing mask. read more

I happen to be very particular because I'm a chef not just at home but by profession so I barely eat out because I'm a harsh critic and find most places to be well decorated trash. But not this place it was a great atmosphere the food was EXCELLENT! The service was excellent I wish I could remember our servers name he was a Spanish guy he was really nice and on top of things. Our drinks were really good as well. We got the Steak and eggs, the Salmon croquettes, & the French Toast. First The Steak was Nicely cooked it could've used more salt but overall very good the steak sits on top of a fried red crispy tomato omg They were banging...so good the grilled asparagus was great. A poached egg comes on top, I hate runny eggs all I can think about is a chicken fetus while eating them so I got mines scrambled. You want be disappointed The Salmon was Good my husband finished all his food. The French Toast Was Cool but I think the Chef Could've put a little more thought into tho it says glazed bananas they were not glazed just some sliced bananas on the side.I thought maybe they were like this because I asked to put them on the side but I saw some one else's French toast and they weren't glazed either.
