Checked this place out for the first time today. Went during off hours around 4:30pm but we were still warmly greeted at the front door. The restaurant is beautiful! We were seated at a lovely table overlooking the water. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable with her suggestions. We tried the blue corn bread. They are baked fresh in house and a delightful little treat before our meal. It's servers with a wonderful honey butter. For our entrees we had The Cuban and a variety of tacos. To start with the Cuban it was devine. An interesting take on the classic using brisket and smoked pork instead of the traditional ham. The sauce it's served with a jalapeño jam absolutely made the sandwich... it was definitely one of the best Cuban "style" sandwiches I've ever had. The tacos were awesome too! Our favorite was the Snapper topped with fresh pineapple salsa. The tortillas were made in house and delicious. We'll definitely be going back very soon to try out the rest the menu. We came across this restaurant on our way to rays on the river couple of weekends back and thought we would give this restaurant a try. However with the current pandemic it's been challenging to find Restaurants that follow CDC guidelines. I was disappointed as when we walked in n noticed tables were occupied closer than the 6ft required distance. We had reserved our seating outside by the fountain. Place is beautiful but service lacked a 5 star. Server did not notice to pick empty plates while passing by our table. Main course arrived while struggling to find space as used appetizer dishes were not picked up. We were seated where there were frogs croaking so loud we could barely carry a conversation. Mojave! Thanks to social media and TikTok I had been wanting to try this place since the earlier part of summer. I went with two of my closest girlfriend for some cocktails and girl chat. Prior to us linking up, I made a reservation for 1:30 that day. Our server, Chris immediately came over and provided us with some water. All three of us tried the fruit sangria which was refreshing and good. For appetizers we got the chips with salsa, fried calamari, and shrimp. Chris the server did not inform us of the additional charge for shrimp however both seafood options were good. I tried their lamp chops as my main entree and All I could say is Wow!!! It was so amazing and it did not need any salt whatever so ever. I decided to be all fancy and go the extra mile and got dessert . Yup, you read that right. The good thing about ordering dessert is you can share with your girlfriends. I ordered the tres leche cake (first time trying it) and it was mouthwatering good! My first visit to this restaurant was after I saw someone talk about it on Instagram. I'm glad I came! I came on a Saturday around 5pm and was able to get a seat outside next to the waterfall immediately with no wait. My food came out very quickly after I ordered it and everything was delicious. I had the lamb chops with potato gratin and asparagus. I also had a side of the cherrywood bacon charro beans. All of it was really good and flavorful. My cocktail was the Rio Suave. Our entire dining experience was elegant, slow paced, and the food was just amazing. We had a wonderful table by the window overlooking the river. Our waitress, Catherine, was just perfect. Carnitas were incredible - slow roasted and melt in your mouth. Enchiladas top notch. The blue cornbread was funky, unique, and soooo tasty. Oh! And the Jalapeño Margaritas were the ultimate concoction of sweet and heat. The portions are large, but we still managed to split a key lime pie wedge for dessert between the four of us. Highly recommend reservations , nonetheless. I recently visited for my birthday luncheon. The Rose bottle was nice and chilled and the river window seating was sweet. The calamari was fresh and crispy. Hubby's Cuban sandwich was delicious as was my snapper taco with peach salsa. The steak taco lacked a lil flavor but not too shabby. Very impressed with the decor and ambiance of this place inside and out. Today's weather was perfect fall weather too and it just made it even better to sit at their beautiful patio. Really liked everything we ordered. Blue corn bread, unique and tasted authentic to me. Loved the calamari. Shrimp and chorizo grits was also nice. Can get a little too rich from the grease but it was tolerable. Mexican street corn is always good anywhere. Had all the tacos (chicken, steak and pork) with corn tortilla as recommended by our server and they were all very good as well. Staff and servers were all friendly and very attentive. Let me start by saying that I was SUPER excited to see a Latin american restaurant close by with a good variety of options. It was a little sad to not be able to give this a better rating and to be torn between the 2 and 3 star level. I'll split this up by the parts that lead to this rating. Venue: The restaurant itself is very nice, at a quite location, and appropriate decor. I went on a Saturday night, was promptly seated and satisfied thus far. Menu: The options on the menu are extensive but thoroughly described. With all the options you're sure to find something. A good variety of drink options and wines as well. Food: This is one of the big misses. I ordered the chipotle wings and a sandwich. Sadly everything I ate was flavorless. It was the most bland food I've had. Wings were dry and flavorless which didn't bode well for the rest of the meal. My Cuban sandwich tasted like pickles and mustard b/c the meat had no flavor. Price: Prices here are a little steep. Portions are a bit larger than most but I still think it's a little overpriced, especially for the quality. Service: This was what pushed me to the 3 stars over 2. So I decided to have brunch with my girls to celebrate graduating with my Bachelor's. I was super excited to catch up with those who supported my journey to go back to school during a pandemic. I am getting dress and will not call 14 people after making reservations. We were seated immediately..Yay! I introduced myself to Skyler, even asked was he new. He told me no. So with you being in charge of a 15 top I expect you to be able to handle the demand but most importantly make sure I am taking care of. Nope that didn't happen. Everyone had a drink, while I was still waiting on a drink menu. He told me I was talking when he came by and took drink order. Wtf. Sir it's my occasion. I work as a traveling mammgrapher and the last year with covid, I was in Cali, Indiana, Boston and Connecticut. I didn't see my girlfriends so yes sir I am playing catch up. It took awhile for food to come out. So what's good on the menu...the grits hands down, the lamb chops, the crab enchilada. What's cold, the French toast..uggg, not something u want to eat cold.. What's bland the calamari, the seafood omelet, the guacamole. What was order and later found out was out/86, the salmon crochets and 2nd order of grits. The drinks, the fruit poncho hands down,, the mimosa horrible even for $7. The sangria were good. When we had to wait to the tickets, the server proceed to tell us because of a party of 6 gratitude will be added. This is normal but again say that in the beginning just in case someone missed it in my invitation. But to me it also feel like servers can give subpar work because he still made over $100 in tips.. I have work in the food industry...I know things happen, I know tickets get lost, I know food runs out. It's all about communication. I do appreciate the manager Tasha helping with dropping off food. She did offer to comp the guacamole since the guest order salmon chochets, they're out, the steak and grits, grits out. I have been getting a lot of feed back and the verdict is out. Yesterday (Friday), I went to a Mojave restaurant located at 6450 Powers Ferry Rd NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30339. I frequently go to the restaurant--at least three times per week. I ordered a bowl of soup and salad. Then, I asked for a piece of toasted French bread. In lieu of the French bread, the waiter brought out an extra-large hamburger bun and a few other items that I did not order. I was displeased with the hamburger bun. The waiter told me that he would speak with the manager. The owner (Mr. Miguel Ayoub) emerged from the backroom, hostile, yelling, and screaming, "What the f__k do you mean you don't like the bread? You people think you can come here and get something for free. I have to pay for everything in this restaurant." Again, he said, "You people always coming here trying to get something for free. If I am going to lose a customer, so be it." He slammed his hand on the table, screaming "f__k it." My guest and I sat, speechless, for we were in shock at how the restaurant owner spoke to us. The waiter came back and apologized profusely. As I was leaving the restaurant, I saw the owner behind the bar. I tried to speak with him in regards to how he treated my guest and me. Most importantly, him saying, "you people." I wanted to know exactly what he meant by this--he had a racist undertone. He tried to tone down his attitude after he saw people filming him. After reviewing my credit card statements, I have spent approximately over $25K in his restaurant within the past year. I am always leaving 20 to 30% tip to his wait-staff, and I was there when he had no customers. Please watch the video. It demonstrates his attitude towards us (African Americans) and the good kind people of America. We should have love, peace, and kindness to all people. I am asking all my Yelp relatives and friends to post my story and boycott Mojave Restaurant. He should not profit from the surrounding customers with that type of hate in his heart. Mojave is Definitely my new Monday night spot- you had me at 5.00 fresh Margarita. The entire place is a vibe, from the grand entrance to the amazing light fixtures. I was highly impressed and saddened because I should have been here a long time ago. The staff was super responsive and attentive. Customer service always wins for me. Now to this spectacular decor. Bravo to the creator and design team! Enough talk about that I know you wanna hear the food! It's a yes for me! I had the Cuban sandwich and I still taste the beef brisket in my mouth! Came here for a group meetup brunch Saturday morning as soon as they opened. They were able to sit a group of about 15 without reservation, which was amazing, and the wait staff was very attentive to our party throughout. They have a parking lot which has ample open parking, considering f we arrived before they opened. The front half of the lot is reserved for valet however, so I imagine it can get packed at their busiest times. They offered both the dinner and brunch menu, which pleasantly surprised me. We ordered pitchers of the red sangria for the table and it was tasty --not too strong or sweet, definitely palatable for all. They don't offer bottomless, but mimosas were $7. I ordered the Blue Cornbread, French Toast and Mariscos seafood omelette. The cornbread was legit blue, super soft warm and moist. Just note that the honey butter isn't actually sweet, it tastes like regular buffed. The omelette was delicious--no complaints besides the need to add hot sauce for some salt and heat. I also ordered a side of grits, which I normally love, but these tasted overloaded with condensed milk. The french toast was 4 pieces of challah bread drizzled with sauce--which was a hefty portion, but but not enough sweetness for me. I've had this place on my list for brunch for about a year and it did not disappoint. Love the vibe in the restaraunt. My friend and I ordered the tostado as an appetizer which was amazing. For our meal, she had the eggs benedict and I had the french toast. I order french toast everywhere I go to brunch in Atlanta and this french toast is amazing!! Loved the chocolate on it and didn't even need syrup. The drinks were good as well. I had the buenos dias. Our server was on top of everything, I can tell he was new and he did a great job. Was excited to try this place out. We are always looking for place that serves authentic food. However when we got there we saw they do not require face masks (??why??). However we were there and everyone was hungry. We sat on the patio and were served water. That's when we noticed that while the wait staff had face masks they were not wearing them properly even one having it below their chin cleaning a table. We ended up just leaving before we ordered. This business does not take public safety seriously. They've lost our business and will be telling others about our experience. Parking is valet but it was only $5 so that wasn't too bad. I really wanted to come here because the pictures online look beautiful. Unfortunately we had a 9:00 dinner so we didn't get good views of the fountain. If I was to return I'd come during the day or closer around sunset. The food was good and they had good menu options but overpriced. The tacos were like $5 each and most of the entrees were $30-40. Love the paella! Been coming here for past two years and make great work lunch outings for large groups. Of course this is Pre-COVID. Why the 2 stars? This is non political but I don't feel safe going to the restaurant not even for takeout. The Owners do not mandate mask wearing, some staff wear masks some do not. Personally, I don't feel safe going there anymore. Coming home from an errand 0TP, I searched Yelp for the best Mexican restaurant near us. We decided on Mojave on Powers Ferry by the river because it had so many great reviews. Don't be surprised as you are searching for a menu with prices; there's not one. Odd, but we gave the restaurant a shot because the menu looked wonderful. We sat outside on the porch, and although it was a lovely evening, it got a bit chilly when the sun went down. Mojave has tableside gas heaters that kept us toasty and comfortable. On this Monday, we saw that they had $7 house margaritas. My husband got one of those, but I got the superior margarita, paying more for what I thought was the better of the two. We enjoyed three appetizers: the blue cornbread, the cheese dip, and the red salsa with chips. Each was delicious! The blue cornbread is served with a honey butter, plenty to spread on the four corn sticks. The cheese dip was perfectly spicy, and the red salsa so fresh! We made good choices on all three of these appetizers, and we enjoyed great service the whole time from Elena. My husband ordered a chicken taco and a steak taco, taking advice from Michael the host who told us that the chicken taco was his favorite on the menu. We enjoyed talking to Michael while we waited for a table outside. I also got a chicken taco and added the chicken mole tamale. The tamale was legit! If you like mole, theirs is delicious, I just wish the tamale had more of it. The chicken taco with cream sauce of some sort was fabulous and tasty! We had the tacos on corn tortillas, which tasted freshly made. My husband gave thumbs up to his steak taco also. Overall, I agree with the great reviews for Mojave. The food at Mojave was really good! I got the Cuban which was huge. They add brisket to their Cuban which was great flavor wise but my brisket was over cooked so it was really tough to eat in spots. I also had a really tasty cocktail with fresh honeycomb The restaurant is really beautiful inside and out. Great ambiance. My only issue is that I got the bill from my bartender for one price and then after he swiped my card he had swirled it for a different amount that came out to exactly 20% more. When I asked him if they automatically include gratuity he said no and that the amount was correct. After I showed him the original itemized receipt he gave me he fixed it and apologized but I kind of feel like he tried to get over on me. read more

We tried the queso and that tasted like velveeta cheese and some other cheap ingredients. Tried the blue cornbread that was dry and bland. The calamari was decent and then the red enchiladas were awful the sauce was missing flavor. The rice was okay and the beans were tasteless. A lot of us ordered poached eggs but they arrived medium with no runny yolk. We were too hungry to bother sending them back. We ordered queso (which we had to send back because it was cold), tostada cascada (was also cold) which had no flavor except for the jalapenos, and one puney steak taco. The website says $$ which is very misleading. If you notice there are NO prices on their website. If I remember correctly the tostada cascada was $12.95, taco $9.95 and queso $8.95. We had 2 cocktails $35 (double house vodka) and the bill was $71!!!! Also, they do not offer chips and salsa. I do remember the cuban sandwich being $16.95 (probably the most expensive cuban sandwich in ATL.) Do yourself and your wallet a favor and drive past this one. read more

Which is a poached egg on top of steak, asparagus, then finally a scalloped tomato. Excuse my language, but grits here ARE SO DAMN GOOD . They used Gouda cheese and y'all know Gouda takes everything from Mac n' cheese to grits to a new level. I'm also a major fan of their potato casserole. Which is basically their loaded breakfast potatoes! - cheese, green onions, peppers , and more. Their calamari is good as well.
