Extremely rude, sexist staff. I was waiting for help and was ignored by a male employee who kept his back to me and didn't acknowledge I was standing next to him for 10 min. I asked him for help and he said he'd get to me when he was done with someone else. Because I had waited so long I decided to walk and find another employee to help. When I returned to the aisle, I was yelled by both the first employee and his male customer for not waiting my turn for his attention. On top of that the employee yelling at me had his mask half way off his face. I hope I don't get COVID on top of everything else. I have never been so horribly treated at a store. I bought my power drill at Home Depot instead. I will never shop at ace again. read more

We needed a MULTI PURPOSE TOOL so badly. luckily hunter and JACK and KYLE were there to our rescue in assistance. jack was so friendly when we walked in the door and greeted us with a sweet smile. hunter gave us the best service, the GREATEST advice, and kept a smile the entire time. kyle was so nice and walked us to our destination, the MULTI PURPOSE TOOLS. such a great and friendly environment, we really felt like family. if we could leave more than 5 stars we absolutely would. definitely recommend if looking for anything hardware related. read more

I have been doing business with Moison's Ace Hardware for many years. I have always found them knowledgeable, friendly and well stocked. I recently purchase an item that came unassembled and with extremely poor directions from another source. After dealing with that company and get not help whatsoever I tool the item to Moisin"s and the were able to assemble it for me. This has been my go to place for a long time and I will continue to purchase any supplies that I need there if they carry them. read more

So fast forward from my review now almost two years ago. I've been back to Moison Ace at least two dozen times for all my needs, and the people are great. But where I continue to think this place shines and is a hidden gem is in small engine repair and maintenance. I bring all my power tools here, and frankly Neil and his team can fix anything. I recently tested my theory out.... found a really nice $400 Husqvarna chainsaw at the "swap table" here at the dump. Obviously, not working.... no bar, no chain, leaky carburetor, bad gas, no chain brake cover, bad air filter, bad spark plug, bad fuel filter. Figured, hey it's free - let's bring it to Neil and just drop it off. I picked it up yesterday, he rebuilt the entire thing, and saved me money by using parts he had on hand and gave me a discount on some parts he wanted to get rid of anyway and just happened to fit on the saw. $200 total out the door. Think about that for a second, the guy had to make at least 3-4 phone calls to me and parts suppliers, order the parts, blah blah blah. It's a lot of work - pretty fair if you ask me! More importantly, does anyone honestly think Home Depot is going to do that? I don't think so. read more

So sad to write this review. I went in on Sunday for some paint and the store was a complete mess... floors look like they hadn't been mopped in days. There were no signage or markings on the floor to show one way aisles. I even saw one employee take off his mask to answer the phone. Another older female employee was wearing this lame mouth shield ... did not seem very effective against COVID. Mask up! Once I was in line to check out, I did not see the counters getting wiped down like they do in other stores nearby. Super disappointed. Items are overpriced anyway. Stay away! read more

This store is my go to place when I need to buy anything from a bulb to a snowblower. Reason ? Very strong support from employees. Knowledgeable, friendly, tenured staff that I recognize when I go in. Forget Home Depot !! Everything that I ever needed these folks have had. The store is clean, bright and organized. read more

Kiddie cornered between the supermarket and the liquor store. I've frequented this place a few times. They have a lot of shelf space and they have a little bit of something from every trade. They have a key duplicating in the back. Yet, it reminds me of the Sears home improvement sections more than an actual hardware store. The staff there varies in expertise and likeability. read more

Moison is our neighborhood hardware store. When we moved to the area, we were in and out of here a lot. This is not the place I would go to buy a specialty lightbulb, but if you want a hardware store with friendly employees who are eager to help you and serve you, Moison's the place to go. Although it's very modern, I always feel like I'm walking into an old-fashioned hometown hardware store: I'm greeted by name by several employees and the service is friendly and accommodating without being pesky. The majority of the employees are men older than 40, but they don't talk down to me or worse, ignore me, like they do at Lowe's or Home Depot. I love that they sell Benjamin Moore paint (the Ace brand is pretty "ace" too!), and they have some interesting housewares, too. BTW, they have great sales. Check out the endcaps -- you can find awesome prices on housewares, LIGHTBULBS, and tools. They also have good paint promotions sponsored by the corporate Ace -- free quarts of paint they'll tint for you, usually on Saturdays in the spring. read more

Ace Hardware has been a staple for my family for years, we're even greeted by name by some of the staff when we come by. But today, an employee I hadn't dealt with before (Theresa) was extremely rude to me & my mother as we were shopping. We asked one employee where something was; he was helping another customer (no problem) so he told us aisle 3 & we went on our way to find them. Turns out they're in another aisle entirely (again, no problem), except when we approached Theresa to ask which aisle it was she very judgmentally said, "Aisle [blah]. See the sign right there?" Then when she was checking us out, I mentioned that I didn't appreciate how she responded to my question earlier, specifically her attitude, she said VERY snarkily, "I could have walked you there if you asked." Well, you also could have offered. Or better yet, just been polite about it. Apparently it's my fault I don't know where everything is in the store when employees can't even remember, that I didn't see it on one of two dozen signs (each w/multiple items listed), & that I didn't ask you to walk us to the aisle when you couldn't spare an extra ounce of energy to treat us decently? She said other things that were rude too, but you get it. Even though she tried to be all sweet to my mom as we were leaving, after we left my mom mentioned that same woman being rude to her before too & helping people in line behind her before helping her on past visits. I'm sorry to write this because Ace has been great to us over the years, which is one reason we shop there despite the higher prices. After today though I will think twice before shopping here; certainly if I walk in & see Theresa, I am turning around & going somewhere else. read more

I grew up in Bedford. I live quite far away, France in fact! My husband is French. We have hardware stores here and he loves to go to them. He's like a kid at Christmas. During his first visit to the USA (25 yrs ago) I brought him there to see where I grew up (Bedford). We went to the Sparta for breakfast and of course, to Radio Shack, which had him speechelss with joy. I remember the hardware store and how great it is, so while on our way walking over to the supermarket to get rootbeer (they don't have it here) I told he he has to go in that hardware store. It was love at first sight. We have been married for 20 years (that was love at first sight too). Every year when we come from France to Boston for a visit we have to go to this hardware store. He starts talking about it 2 weeks before we leave, along with eating breakfast at the Sparta, checking out Radio Shack, and visiting the Boat Landing. He would have been a good Bedfordite. The reasons he loves it so much are the same reasons that others have pointed out. First, there is everything you could want under the sun there, but it's organized and neater than you'd expect. Second, the people are super nice and helpful, and they are not pretending. They take the time to listen and find a solution for you and it costs you nothing. That doesn't happen where we live. It's like Disney Land at that hardware store. Third, altough some of you think it's expensive you should come live in France! I guess it's all relative. But, if we need duct tape, flashlights, or any other doo-dad you can think of, we wait until we are coming to Bedford and that's where we go. We then stuff our suitcase full off our treasures found there, and the rootbeer, and go back to France! read more

I was shocked to see that this Ace doesn't have five stars, or close to it. I've been going there for years and have never had a less than great experience. Here's why I love it: * The selection is incredible. They've really crammed a lot of useful stuff into a small store-- everything from luggage straps to gardening tools. * If they don't carry something or if it's not in season, they'll happily order it for you or tell you where else you can buy it. * I often find I pay less at Ace than at big box stores, because they have options that aren't just bundles. For example, an offset screwdriver at this Ace is about $3, but the nearest Home Depot only sells them in $50 tool bundles. * It's faster to shop here than at big box stores. You don't have to walk miles to find your stuff. Also, the employees know where things are, so if you can't locate something in their well-labeled aisles, you won't waste time going from person to person until you find someone who, say, knows what an offset screwdriver is. * The employees REALLY know their stuff, and they're friendly and willing to help. Recently I was modifying a snow roof rake, and Mark took a good half hour with me going over my diagram and coming up with a good plan and part list, then helped me find everything. It's service above and beyond simply knowing where their stock is-- they know how to use it and can give you sound advice. If you're at a stuck point in a project, coming here is even better than going online for help, because they can show you the parts and how to use or assemble them. I come here for everything except lumber, which sadly they don't sell. read more

Love this place!! Staff is incredibly friendly and seem just happy to help you!! Prices are a bit high, but the person to person help that you get won't be found at a box store! They greet you at the door most times and will pretty much shop with you if you need the extra attention..another thing not found elsewhere. Staff is on the older side, altho the mgr. from what I gather, is a pretty young man who knows his stuff. One guy there....I think named George, or Gerry, plain knows his stuff and seems to enjoy helping out with anything you throw at him..he also seems to know everyone who is in the store! Since I moved to Lexington...I won't go to anyplace else! Also...its a pet friendly place, which I like. Give this place a shot...you'll be surprised I'm sure! read more

OK, I'm not sure how the updated review is supposed to work. I've had great experiences every time (with the exception of one incident which was in my last review) and just had another great experience. Everyone here is so nice, helpful, friendly and personable and helped me get through the second half of my list and on my way in no time. The store continues to be immaculate, well stocked and neatly stocked - everything is where it should be. I am so happy this store is local to me, but even if it weren't, I'd likely make the trip as needed. I honestly can't think of a store better-run and with a nicer staff. The folks in this ACE hardware store are extremely knowledgable, cheerful, helpful. It's an all around pleasant experience to go in to this hardware store. If you don't need help, they leave you alone. If you do, their advice is helpful (at times they may even steer you to the LESS expensive option if they think it's better). Thumbs up. read more

I just bot a lightbulb here and they charged me $9. It was a small g4 halogen bulb. Amazon sells this exact one for $4. You can get a 10 pack of them at Amazon for about $6.75. I bought another bulb for almost $10, same situation on Amazon. Join Prime and get free shipping and skip this overpriced hardware store. Seriously a rip off. The store was also empty. I predict they will be out of business soon. Forgot to mention that I bot a bath matt for $13, went next door to home goods, got one for $6.00 and returned the $13 one to Ace. I don't often write reviews but this place was absolutely highway robbery. Maybe good for emergencies, like toilet plungers. read more

Rob L. not only figured out what parts I needed, but he installed them for no extra charge. I never could have gotten it fixed by myself.
