Creme Brulee Milk Tea (L) and Mango Pomelo (R)
Karen T.

I first tried Moge Tee when I was visiting the East Coast. I did not realize they also had locations in CA, so was intrigued in checking out this San Diego location once I found out about it. My partner got the Mango Pomelo drink, which tasted pretty good and used fresh ingredients. It was perfect with half sugar. On the other hand, the Crème Brûlée Milk Tea drink I got was underwhelming. The creme brulee was too chunky, while the tea was too watered down. I would like to see more consistency with the drinks here. Although it is a small store, there are a few small tables inside and a couple more outside. There is also a convenient self-ordering kiosk and a large parking lot, which are nice to have.

Super Fruit Four Seasons Oolong Tea

I love me a nice, refreshing iced tea on a warm day and Moge Tee hit the spot for me. I ordered an iced four seasons fruit oolong tea with aloe vera and it was super tasty! I really like that they added fresh fruit and the aloe vera bits were tasty. The only downside is that even at 30% sweetness, it was still a bit sweet. I'd definitely come back to try more of their drinks.

Pandan waffle

It was my second time here and the drinks are okay. We came here to wait for a friend, but she ended up flaking LOL. My friend ordered a mango pomelo slush and we shared a pandan waffle. I forgot the name of my drink, but it was pretty! The waffle had more coconut than I like, but overall it was pretty good.

"TAKE A SIP, MAKE A WISH" (3.8 stars) ... I wish my boba had better boba pearls - BOBA: good - PRICE: average - SERVICE: quick - AMBIANCE: small, nothing special MANGO POMELO ($7.95) - I love both flavors separately, why not try them together. This was good, a layer of Pomelo, a foamy whip that has a slight cheesy taste, and then a layer of mango. I ordered it with golden boba and yah idk why I order golden boba (never liked it before, won't change now). The texture of them is a little crunchier. This was overall a mix of subtle refreshing and sweet. RECOMMEND They have a lot of offering on their menu but many are caffeinated. Would love to come back and try another to boost up the rating. Until next review....

We came in two hours before closing and they were out of boba. I got the crème brûlée milk tea but it really had no flavor. I did get it 70% sugar, but when I tried the foam alone it tasted like cheese? Overall, I would try something else. The crème brûlée milk tea just tasted like plain milk tea for me (Mind you I usually get drinks 25% sweet and still taste the flavor). They do have a wide variety of fresh fruit smoothies. The fresh fruit are in cups ready to be blended. Next time I stop by I will be trying one of those!

Large Thai tea - 30% sweetness, 100% ice
Juliana C.

Yay for another tea boba place! Was craving that Thai tea and luckily came up in my Yelp search and they are located in Mission Valley! Hidden in the Friars Mission center shopping center, they are a short walk from Ralph's and across the driveway from Subway. I looked at their menu in the Yelp pics, but didn't see Thai tea in their menu. I took a chance and still visited Moge. Luckily they do have Thai tea available it's just not listed on the menu. When I inquired, they said they have lots of drinks that are not listed on the menu. Well, that kinda sucks... how are you supposed to know what you can order?!? They have three different sizes, medium, large and plus...which is huge! Kiosk ordering available. It was not packed each time I visited which is nice, so I don't have to wait long for my drink. They use a simple syrup as their sweetener so it can be adjusted. I ordered my tea with 30% sweetness which was perfect. Not overly sweet and strong a Thai tea taste. Worker bees in the back making tea orders as they come in. My order was made quickly, I didn't have to wait long at all. Shop is super clean and open. 2025: 47

Yogurt Mango Tea Slush
Sharon H.

I ordered the yogurt mango tea slush and it had a strong yogurt/ tart flavor. I personally enjoyed it but if you don't enjoy strong tart flavors, I would not recommend this drink. I also couldn't really taste the mango flavor. I would recommend 50% sweetness because the drink still felt pretty sweet to me at 50%. The slush texture was more watered down than icy. It's similar to HeyTea's mango coconut boom texture but it's not as silky. Service was fine/ ambiance was chill. No complaints at all!

Pandan waffle
Salman S.

Was in fashion valley and in the mood for something sweet so popped into Moge tee which is just a five minute drive from the mall. Ordered the mango pomelo slush and pandan waffle but was unfortunately disappointed by the drink. The drink was super thick, felt like they use a yogurt instead of milk as it was slightly sour like yogurt and all the ingredients were at the bottom and not mixed well. Barely any mango or pomelo in the drink as well. The pandan waffle was better. Will have to try their teas the next time as I wasn't impressed by the slush.

Strawberry Pomelo 70% sugar
Trinh T.

Drink: Strawberry Pomelo 70% sugar (8/10) - you can really taste the strawberry and pomelo flavors. there is a lot of cheese foam swirled throughout the drink and ties it together. it's a good mix of a refreshing and creamy drink. The crystal boba in the drink is also a good addition. Service: You order on a kiosk and the staff work pretty efficiently and get your order out in no time! Ambiance: Very cute little boba shop with a bit of a green aesthetic. Small tables along the walls and is bright inside. Nice little stop for a sweet drink!

Cheese Foam DaHongPao Tea
Annie D.

Did a DoorDash pick up order. Got the DaHongPao tea with cheese foam 70% sweetness. The tea is very fresh and herbal and the cheese foam compliments it without being overpowering. Only reason for 4 stars is that it's kinda pricey but would come again.

Strawberry Mochi Tea
George P.

Dropped by here last night after a Legion game and had a really wonderful experience. They were open late, so it was great to have a place available for boba then. Lots of seating, and the menu was pretty wide but not too overwhelming. Saw that they offered drinkable mochi which I don't see too often, so I ended up getting the strawberry mochi drink with white (crystal) boba which was so delicious! Service was fast and the staff was very friendly, checking in on us as we ordered from the two kiosk pads. I did see they offered like a mega size option for some of their drinks, so curious to get that on my next visit. Thank you!

Got the milk Thai tea. Sweetness 30%. That seems to be the sweetness level we like. To be honest, this is probably one of the better Thai teas in Mission Valley. Service was quick. Some seating inside. Usual come here when going to Ralph's.

AVOID!! I love…read moresupporting small businesses and really wanted to like this place so I can return and send others, BUT too many issues... 1) Employees aren't familiar nor clear with ingredients, which is problematic for a diabetic 2) Basic jasmine milk tea was just shy of $10 for a large, marketed as 32oz but was quite a bit short. See pic of my 32oz Hydro Flask (she did top it off after explaining that she knew the cups weren't a full 32 ounces -of course I had to question the size first). When I asked about it, the owner seemed to know that their cups are smaller than the advertised amount but because, according to her, that's how it was marketed to them by the supplier, they didn't change it. Again, this is problematic to me. If you know the supplier is short changing you, and my guess is because you went with the cheapest cup (which may also mean inferior plastic for unwitting consumers), why in the world wouldn't you remeasure and advertise it correctly??!!! You've lost my trust in exchange for a quick buck. I'd prefer honesty. 3) Worst offense... within 30 minutes of drinking, I started feeling unwell and getting bloated. Clearly indicates to me that they either didn't disclose some mysterious ingredient or there was a problem with their sanitation somewhere -unfortunately I didn't watch her make it. Prior to this happening and me now stuck on the couch in pain, I was going to give them an extra star for quick service. It's a little shop in a small strip mall, clean enough in the table areas but unsure about the back. I didn't check reviews before walking in because somebody nearby had recommended it to me -a stranger, and I figured how bad can a boba shop be, obviously MY mistake. Gotta check YELP before I go anywhere. Had I read previous reviews, especially the one star recently about using chemicals in the same sink they make drinks from with TAP water, I would have never entered. On top of this, the taste was one of the worst milk teas I've ever had. Tasted like milk powder than real milk. AVOID!!

The racks of yummy-lookin' Mochi Donuts was so inviting too but I had to say no because they're not gluten-free, so my restraint was justified. I have been to Boba shops before where the percentage of ice fills close to, if not half the cup. Gelabong took it upon themselves to fill mine with about 25%, maybe even a tad less without me requesting lite ice. This means I have more tea to enjoy without too much dilution. The place looks clean, smells subtly delicious and they have an instagramable white bench in front of a gray leafy wall outside. Lots of drinks to choose from. Dalgona world be one I would try next time.

I cannot share enough incredible things about my experience at Boba Monkey. It truly was one of the…read moremost thoughtful, delicious, and memorable beverage experiences I've ever had. From the very beginning, I was blown away by the level of care and attention I received. The owner, Le, personally answered my call and guided me through the menu with a level of detail and warmth that immediately put me at ease. I have specific safety needs and allergies, and she handled everything with such grace and professionalism. She was clear, direct, and supported me through every action of the process without ever overwhelming me. What I deeply appreciated out most was how naturally she accommodated my needs. There wasn't a moment where I felt like an inconvenience. Instead, I felt genuinely cared for. Le's passion for her craft is unmistakable. She shared how she has studied flavors extensively, traveling to Vietnam and Taiwan to deepen her understanding of traditional techniques and flavor profiles. That dedication shines through in every sip. She explained how she carefully develops her own recipes, blending cultural influences with precision and creativity. Even the boba itself is made fresh every morning, which makes a huge difference. I can taste the quality, texture, and freshness immediately. I started with the taro milk tea (with almond milk due to my allergies), and it was absolutely phenomenal. The drink was luxuriously creamy with a silky, smooth texture that coated the palate in the most satisfying way. The taro flavor was rich and earthy with a subtle nuttiness, balanced by a gentle sweetness that never became overpowering. Just when it seemed like it might lean too sweet, the creaminess would round everything out perfectly, creating a beautifully harmonious flavor profile. Adding the boba elevated the experience even more. The pearls were soft yet chewy, with just the right amount of bounce, and carried a delicate sweetness that complemented the drink rather than competing with it. It was, without question, the best taro milk tea I've ever had. Next, I tried the "Over the Rainbow," and it was just as impressive in a completely different way. This drink was bright, vibrant, and incredibly refreshing. The tartness of the lemonade provided a crisp, zesty backbone, while the popping boba added bursts of sweetness that danced across the tongue. Each sip was layered and dynamic, cool, tangy, sweet, and slightly effervescent in feeling. Visually, it was stunning as well, with beautiful, shifting colors that made the experience feel almost magical. It was as much a feast for the eyes as it was for the taste buds. Both drinks were so good that I drank them down almost immediately! I didn't even think to take a photo! I even found myself savoring the melted ice afterward just to enjoy every last trace of flavor, which shares a lot about the quality and balance of the drinks. To top it all off, Analise, who helped me at checkout, was equally kind and accommodating. She continued the same level of care and attentiveness, making sure my safety needs were respected and that I felt comfortable throughout the entire experience. Boba Monkey has truly set a new standard for me. Between the exceptional quality of the drinks, the depth of flavor, the cultural authenticity, and the genuine kindness of the staff, this place is in a league of its own. If I could give them a billion stars, I absolutely would. Best drinks, best boba, and one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had.

When I got there it was ready for me which was great, but the coloring really threw me off. No vibrant hues of green or purple as you'd expect from an Ube Matcha milk tea and the taste was really off putting, something in it tasted burnt? I really like the little kiosk stand and the barista was really friendly but man was that drink bad, I brought it home and dumped it out. For the cost, I was really disappointed and I don't think I will be making it back.
