Went here to buy a plant as a gift and then later for a bouquet, and to reiterate what other reviewers have said, Moe really has a love for his trade. He helped me choose the perfect plant for my flatmate, and later made me the most gorgeous, aromatic, and long lasting bouquet I've ever seen from this area! The bouquet lasted for (I believe) more than a week, even longer than some flowers someone bought for my other flatmate online. You should have seen Moe make this bouquet on the spot when I came in and gave him my budget. The sheer talent in choosing the right flowers one at a time and arranging them in a work of art showed me how much pride and care he takes in his work. It's always a pleasure to have conversation with Moe too. The plants and flowers sold here are very reasonable and are perhaps far cheaper than some of the other places I've been to in the area. I've never met Moe but I've sent my husband and kid for the past 2 years to pick up flowers for a VIP in my life and that person has loved both his big arrangements (2021, 2022). I'm amazed how his stars here are either 1 or 5 but so far, we like his work. Moe seems like a character. I think if you go in his shop, know what you're buying. Amazing service and honest prices! I needed to make a very last minute order of 8 lei's for my boss farewell party the following morning. I had called at-least three other flower shops that quoted me a ridiculous amount per lei of about $40 per. I found Moe's Flower shop after searching for a local flower shop on yelp. I read a few reviews and found them to be satisfactory. After discussing prices I found his services to be reasonably priced and he was able to fulfill my very last minute order with no problems. I came across Moe's Flowers while walking to UC Berkeley and the beautiful plants and flowers caught my eye. I stopped by and looked at all the plants outside. There were small and medium size that are perfect for any room. It was hard to choose which ones to get because I wanted one of each!! I settled with picking out 3, and I bought cute ceramic pots to put them in so when I get home, they're ready to for their new home. Moe was extremely nice and helpful while I browsed all the plants and had a hard time choosing. He was knowledgeable about each plant and helped me pick ceramic pots. I also got a single rose which is GORGEOUS!!! It's day 3 and it's still looking divine. I wish I had found this flower shop sooner. I would definitely come back and buy an arrangement here. The owner of the plant shop was rude, disrespectful, and discriminatory. I entered the shop to ask how much a pothos was and he immediately yelled, "$45 but you can't afford that. You people always want $25 or $35 deals but these are good quality plants and the cheap plants will come next month ". I left the store and went to my wife who was waiting outside. I let her know how much the pothos cost and we were actually happy with the $45 price and were expecting a higher price... The man followed me and talked directly to my wife, saying, "I will sell the plant to you and I'll give you a discount". While this was happening, another group of people went inside the store, and he yelled at them saying, "You can't go in the shop and look around around. Go away no. There's obviously no one inside". Keep in mind we're an interracial couple and I am a Person of Color and my wife is white... I would not recommend this shop to anyone, especially People of Color. Not a safe space. The owner Moe is the most awful business owner I have ever encountered in my life. I'm amazed how he pissed me and my boyfriend off in 30 seconds. We were on our anniversary and my boyfriend wanted to surprise me with some flowers. Moe's was next to campus so we went there. He was staring aggressively at me in silence when we came in. I asked him what is this plant and is it easy to take care of. Moe said "why don't you buy it first. I can't waste my time on you". I then was looking at other stuff outside of the store and Moe started rambling about a freshman who took photos of his plants because he's going to look up the plants online. Moe claims that the freshman was stealing his business and he suspected that kids like him cheated their way to Berkeley. My boyfriend and I got scared and walked away, but he won't stop telling like a mad man. I went there twice before this. First time I was shooed out the store because I picked up a plant to have a better look, the second time shooed out again for wearing a backpack indoors cause someone touched his plant by their backpack before and "ruined" his plants. It was a co-worker's birthday so, I walked over there to see if I can get her some plants or flowers, etc.. as I walk in, this old man asked me RUDELY, what do you need? Do you know what you want ? Went to the shop with my significant other and they seemed to hit it off quite well as they both spoke well over 30 minutes as Mo dished out a bunch of secret plant knowledge. I love Moe. He's my good friend after having gone to his shop for over 10 years. I acknowledge some of the negative reviews here are probably true, but bottom line, Moe is an honest man who treats his loyal customers like family. He once sent me a huge bouquet of flowers because he heard I was getting a new job, and I personally know other loyal customers who receive the same kind of generosity from him. Berkeley wouldn't be the same without him. His shop is a local landmark. One of the few that have survived the gentrification and commercialization. So please support! Here are some helpful tips for your visit: 1. Don't rush Moe if you want him to put a custom bouquet together. Give him about 5 minutes to work his magic. You won't regret it. 2. Don't keep changing your mind and ask a bunch of questions about a variety of products. This annoys him. 3. The best bang for your buck is to give him your budget for a bouquet and let him choose the flowers for you. You can give general preferences like which flower you want included or what colors, but it's like omakase at a sushi place. He will not cheat you. I really didnt want to leave this review but I feel I have to let people know because I was treated extremely rude by Moe. Moe has always been rude but I made sure to keep my interactions and transactions very short. I am a frequent customer, 4 out of my 8 plants were bought here and I even brought some of my friends to buy plants from his as well. I bought a hanging plant from him a month ago. My plant was shedding quite a few leaves and Moe said I wasnt taking care of it properly (lol) even though i followed instructions. Moe told me to bring a picture of my plant next time so that he could get a better idea of what my plant needs. I brought my plant in and he immediately starts to go off on me about being on his time and that I should call first because he had an order to fill at the moment and was running behind. He didnt allow me to explain that not only did he instruct me to come back with pictures...I also had no problem coming back another day if he was busy. The whole conversation consisted of him yelling and talking over me. He continually said he was busy and Told me to take my business somewhere else...oh and also that I should tell my friends to do the same. I am aware that he gets a lot of business from students attending Berkeley. I am both a graduate student an an employee of the university and I feel that no one should be treated like that regardless of where they are professionally. He is extremely rude and sexist and I dont believe that type of behavior should be rewarded with customers. This is not okay! I wont be coming back here or even walking in this direction. I went in looking with a group of 5 to make a bouquet for my girlfriend and as we were overseeing the flowers the owner rudely asked if I was just looking or looking to buy. I said I was looking and he told me that he was closing and asked me to leave since I wasn't going to buy anything and wasting his time. As one of my friends was looking at a plant while leaving the store he came out angry and shouting insults at him. He even came out the store. I've been going to Moe's for 10 years. He's got a big selection of flowers and it's affordable. You can just give him an amount, color combination or style and he'll put something together. He understands that it's a college town and so isn't looking to rip people off but he's still a business who needs to stay in business. Another thing ..his flowers are fresh. They stay alive and smell wonderful for days with water changes. The selection is quite large at Moe's and you'll find what you're looking for. Great place to get leis for graduations as well. Mom's bday + Unemployed + $15 = $25 bouquet from Moe with a wink He's moody at times which is a big downside to Moe and his business. And in the end he's a business man so if he senses you are too cheap or complaining, he'll let you know you can take your $5 elsewhere. But as long as I live in the SF or Bay Area, I'll be a customer. Parking kinda stinks in the area unless you get lucky with street. Complained about how he gets no in the Spring break/Thanksgiving break/Winter break and makes less than minimum wage. Students don't understand how much work he puts in. Incredibly, twenty minutes after a horrible review was left at Moe's, I find myself astonished at how rude and unbelievable Moe acts to potential customers. I went in with my girlfriend because she was looking for a houseplant, and Moe was quick to reprimand me for stepping too close a flower pot. But I was baffled when he went on a three minute tangent about how rude it was for me to "compare my plants to his" under his "$2000 a month establishment" because I commented that I owned one of the plants he was selling. Moe is unhinged. The way he treats customers is extremely erratic, and he will only give you good customer service if he thinks you're going to place a large order. I went in the shop once and he was kind of nice to me because he wanted to hire me when I mentioned I used to work with flowers, but he gave me really weird vibes when he basically said he hates Berkeley students so I never followed up. I'm writing this review because today I was DRIVING BY his shop up Durant and he jaywalked across the street and screamed at me to back up so that a customer could park. As in he wanted me to back up in the street while I waited at a red light, on a public street, because I was in front of a parking spot he wanted. Somehow when literally just driving by his store he managed to be verbally abusive. I don't know how this place has any stars to be honest. If Yelp allowed us to give negative stars I would. My family and I drove from Stockton to walk around the shops and eat at the eateries on Telegraph. We parked at the garage that is right next to Moes Flowers. My husband needed to use the restroom due to the long drive so my son, his girlfriend and I decided to go in the store while we waited. We saw some eucalyptus by the door and I was interested in purchasing some. I'm also a plant mom so I was very interested to see if there was any plants that I could purchase that I don't have yet. As soon as we walked in the door this guy Moe told us to leave. Very rudely just told us "to leave". It took me by surprise because I've never experienced such a hostile tone especially having just walked into his establishment. I asked him if he was closed and he didn't even look at us just kept his head down looking at whatever he was doing and said Yes. So I turned around and along with my son and his girlfriend started to walk out the door.. I then said very loudly so Moe could hear " well his door is wide open and his sign doesn't say closed". We proceeded then to walk next door to a bookstore where two very nice and welcoming ladies greeted us. We looked at books until my husband showed up. We then left the bookstore to head to Telegraph avenue and as we were turning to corner to where Moes flower shop is, we saw a white man in the store and Moe was helping him purchase flowers.
