Where do I begin. Went to get a grad bouquet for my girlfriend and the service was terrible. I showed a picture of a bouquet style to one of the employees and after looking at it and asking what my budget was he laughed in my face. The selection of flowers wasn't great, including not having baby's breath available. The bouquet was wrapped hastily and poorly in brown paper with gaps in between, it wasn't cut evenly or neatly, and was crinkled at the bottom. The bouquet ended up being quite small for the price as it only had a few roses in terms of the most expensive flowers. I could have easily arranged it better by buying flowers at Trader Joe's and wrapping them myself. With the poor service and lack of attention to detail, you'd be better off going elsewhere. read more

Emilia's is a floral haven in the middle of Berkeley! I've gone here twice now for bouquets, and Arian has been amazing helping me assemble custom, personalized bouquets. He walks me through the different flowers to choose from, brainstorms with me which ones might go best together, and then puts together a beautiful bouquet. Emilia's flowers are by far the best I have ever seen at a flower shop. The owner goes far and beyond to find unique and gorgeous selections. Most flower shops tend to have "all the hits" for sale, but the owner Miriam, always has surprises, exotics and just astounding combinations. Miriam is not your typical American customer service experience with all smiles, she is an artist raised in Iran who has lived through alot. She is serious about her work, sje cares for the quality of her product and apparantly she travels all throughout the Bay Area to find the best possible floral possibilities to bring into the shop. I appreciate her customer service through her flowers and arrangements. However, I run by this store a couple times a week and after seeing the sad selection at Safeway, I decided to stop by here to pick up some flowers for two friends performing in a recital. The woman working was very friendly! I told her what I needed, gave her a price range, and then gave her free reign. She chose some gorgeous, bright flowers and paired them beautifully. All the flowers here look healthy and alive- a much better option compared to Safeway! I would say the price is a bit high considering the size of the final bouquets, but it was worth it considering how knowledgable the staff seemed to be. I'm sure if I knew anything at all about flower arrangement, I'd have been able to give more feedback on what I wanted, but as it is, I was able to trust her to take care of it. They accept credit! I wish I had either come later in the day or asked her to wrap the stems. I realized too late and had to figure out a way to make sure the bouquets stayed alive and beautiful for my friends! read more

I called Emilia's this morning around 9ish sometime after they opened to see if I can squeeze in a last minute flower delivery and they were able to fit me in. For that I will give them 4 stars. The flowers that my friend received were beautiful and she liked them. The only thing I'm a little disappointed about was the minimum price to have something delivered $45. However, there is an additional $15 dollar fee for delivery on top of the minimum price ($45) before they actually deliver flowers. I have a lot of experience with flower shops and that is a very high minimum price. I was already ordering a $35-$40 arrangement which already should have been sufficient. I don't think I will be ordering from here again. I can find another place who will do just as nice of a job. read more

I've been coming to this stand next to the Cheeseboard for years. They always have wonderful fresh flowers and wide selections - you can find beautiful roses, peonies, dahlias, etc, but they also have unusual and rare flowers that will make any bouquet extra special and unique. And the flowers always stay fresh for days. That is why I decided to go with Emilia's to do the flowers for my outdoor wedding. I asked the owner for several special center pieces, a bridal bouquet, boutonnieres/corsages for the bridal party, and green garlands to go around our lantern center pieces on dining tables. I was looking for deep colors, sage greens (succulents or eucalyptus), and a mix of roses and "interesting" flowers. The owner was very knowledgeable - she got what I was going for and gave me useful suggestions. She was very no-nonsense about the whole thing and steered me away from some iffy decisions. Plus she was upfront about costs and helped me factor that into my decision making process. It was a pleasure to work with her! On the wedding day, she was at the venue 30 mins early. She set up everything and checked with me several times to make sure that everything was to my liking. The flowers were gorgeous and I LOVED them! The owner was not friendly, and it wasn't the first time I have experienced a sour mood from her. After I picked out the flowers, she asked me if I wanted her to arrange them. I had high expectations for bouquets at Emilia. The flowers on display are beautiful, they're located in a high-profile area, and they have passable pre-made bouquets. I asked for 2, small bouquets that I planned on decorating my house with. She asked how much wanted to pay, I told her about $10 each. She took out a dahlia, a gerber daisy, a lily, and a rose and said that was $10. That was her idea of a bouquet? Horrible! The flowers looked ridiculous together. The colors were all different, the styles were totally different, it looked stupid. I went there hoping for someone to pull a little bouquet for me; someone who knows flowers better than I do. I ended up choosing some flowers myself, a couple stems of hydrangea and some dahlias. The woman helping me added some pine branches which looked a little weird with the hydrangea, but I guess that's what I get when I ask for some greens. She kept asking another woman questions about what she was doing. I couldn't hear her exact questions, but the other woman was quite surly and answered her brusquely. I do not recommend this place at all. If you're looking for a full service florist to create a bouquet for you, don't come here.
