I was in front of the flower shop with my toddler and was holding a UAW protesting sign. For the context, the UV post docs, graduate researchers and student employees at Berkeley have been protesting this week. A mid-aged guy sitting inside of the store suddenly yelled at me "move away, or I will call the police. No protesters in front of my shop!" Needless to say, that was surprising and really uncalled for. If he does call police, he should worried about discriminating costumers based on their views. read more

I saw the reviews on yelp and called right away. I needed a floral arrangement for my grandmother who got sworn in to become a USA citizen today. I'm so proud of her and of this country. I wanted to express how happy and excited I am for her. Unfortunately I live in southern in California and the best way I could think of was by sending flowers and calling her. Mona helped me stay in my budget and text me pictures of the beautiful arrangement she made. Total including $15 delivery was $60 plus tax I think. I needed to order flowers for a friend who was in the hospital in Berkeley and discovered the great reviews for Campus Flowers AND it was very close by. They have a website, but I decided to call in and spoke to Mona who was extremely helpful in taking my order and answering my questions. She admitted that they didn't have the vase for my arrangement that was pictured on the website, so she was going to use a bigger one and upgrade my bouquet at no charge! Can I just say that I am appalled seeing some of the reviews below. It is absurd to assume that any florist could get a call, create an arrangement, and deliver it in the same day. The fact that they even try should not be the reason you recommend someone. It sounds like they tried to do a nearly impossible favor, and now you guys are wanting it to either become the standard they live by OR you want to punish them for your bad planning. Look, we all have the last minute impulse to do something nice from time to time, but as the old adage says...Your bad planning should not be someone else's crisis...or their damnation. I'm sure next time someone asks for a rush job, they'll say no, we can't keep up our standards if we work that way. read more

Mona, the owner, is awesome. She really makes it a great atmosphere and really like the community florist and does a great job as a community store. She really tries to help her customers out, not just like another business transaction. My story: told her about why I needed flowers (I still feel bad, it's not often you feel like you owe a girl flowers, but yeah....) so I dropped by Campus Flowers and they were really helpful in customizing it all, matching laces, throwing in different flowers and insightful suggestions and a nice little card to go with it. Anyway, they actually care about their customers, not just trying to scalp you for as much as they can or take your money and get you out of the door asap. Great local florist! read more

On St.Patrick's Day I noticed their green carnations while walking by, and really wanted to buy one. I only had a credit card though, and there was a $8 minimum. But the owner, being extremely friendly and nice, and asked how many I wanted. When I said I only wanted one, he said I could just take it and "pay him back" later. :O!!! It was such a nice gesture, because I've been wanting a green flower for such a long time, and never mustered up the courage to go and buy one for myself. So I picked out a nice one, and he basically gave it to me. Only four stars though, because I walked by again to pay him back and they were closed. They always seem to be closed. :( read more

I also needed one more-expensive bouquet and she made an absolutely gorgeous one for $20. On the phone, the owner checked to make sure that she had all the materials in stock to create the bouquet that I ordered and confirmed that they would be able to deliver same day. When the driver had trouble accessing the delivery address and returned my order to the store, Mona personally went back and made the delivery after hours. we recently worked with mona, the owner of campus flowers, for our wedding at the berkeley city club. mona was really wonderful about staying within our limited price range and budget. i don't know a whole lot about flowers, but i'd printed some photos with some arrangements i liked and we talked over color schemes and flowers that were in season. the arrangements came out beautiful. like, so beautiful i couldn't believe that this was MY bouquet or the centerpieces for MY wedding. she nailed exactly what i wanted, and hand-delivered them to the berkeley city club. mona also graciously handled some last-minute changes to our original agreement. we had more tables that we originally planned, and changed up an arrangement that was on our guest book table at the last minute. mona was really clear about what the changes were, and how much they would cost. if i had any criticisms, it would be that a week or two before the wedding, mona told me she was nervous--not the best thing to tell a really stressed out bride! and that sometimes i had to follow up with her to get answers to questions. but all in all, those were really minor issues--almost non-issues--and mona pulled through 110%. she was delightful to work with, creative, friendly, and reasonable. i'd definitely recommend her! read more

Ordered flower arrangement on Friday AM for same day delivery for a new mother just released from the hospital. I received an email at the end of the day that they could not deliver until the following Tuesday. This company is expensive to begin with, plus charges extra for delivery, and I was expecting a much higher level of service and customer satisfaction than we received. I would not recommend this company for any event that was important. It seems like if you are in the same-day flower delivery business, you should be able to actually deliver flowers the same day. read more
