Tried getting info from our local Home Depot, down the road but seems they just didnt have time to answer any of my questions, especially dealing with the Pro Service dept, so..... I actually found an HVAC company that was willing to help out with the install, they don't do window units but they know were in dire situation. I finally found the unit we want and unfortunately, Depot wouldn't have it in until July 9th, way too late!!!! I looked up Lowe's, here in Modesto, and they had a good replacement for the one we were looking for. Customer service was super friendly and very professional helping me out with the questions I had. We purchased the unit online last nite, this morning, it was ready for curbside pick up. They came in within 5 minutes, they loaded it into my truck and away we go!! A HUGE thank you to everyone that helped us out, it was GREATLY appreciated!!!! We will definitely be back, even though our local Home Depot is 2 miles away....customer service is a huge factor for me, people make mistakes but as long as you treat me right, I'll be back!!!

I was told that Harbor Freight is the perfect place for that as they are much less expensive than Home Depot. I was told the quality isn't as good.. but, for a one & done project.. who cares if it doesn't last longer than that. Right? Im not a handy man. Even tho I do think I would make a good husband:) I was told the same tool at the Depot would be about $30. I Paid $8.99!! I haven't used it yet.. but it looks like it will hold my closet door in place after gluing panels to dry. now, the absolute best part is not just running into an acquaintance when I walked in.. but, the awesome service I received from DeMondrick the manager. Talk about top notch. He was being pulled all over the place but took the time to calmly help me. took me straight to the part after my wonky description...and even took it out of package just to make sure it would extend the 20 inches that I needed. I was so impressed with how he spoke to me (not making me feel stupid) and was truly a gentleman. And smiled while helping me. He definitely won a customer over yesterday for the company. this will be my first stop now for anything tool related. I wish they had cacti & flowers too.

When you're looking for an affordable starter set for an adult child moving out on their own, or a tool you need urgently but won't put through a lot of stress, or replacements for some category of item that you use to death quickly, HF is fan-effing-tastic. (Their tool quality has also generally improved; obvs, read tool reviews, but they are worth a look.) We went to the soft opening with nothing in mind other than celebrating that there's finally a store near us (we'd been spending a lot of time and cash at the one in Ceres), and walked out with our arms loaded with goodies that we just happened to remember we needed. This location is next to Big Lots and kind of across the street from Strand Ace Hardware, so between the three, you can probably knock off an entire home renovation project on a budget. Location means there is generous parking.
