Following our meeting they took us to four pools they had designed and built in the area. They looked great and you could tell the homeowners really liked them. They were both a pleasure to work with and had great ideas on the design. Josh was in charge all of the way and he is a perfectionist. He had his team correct imperfections that we didn't even notice. He was here a lot and made sure things were done the right way. Not to get into it but I guess I was not paying total attention during the process as the pool and jacuzzi ended up with even more features than I envisioned (within the original budget). I am not a detail person ... LOL. They went above and beyond our expectations and we are 100% happy with everything. The good * Sunset is deeply knowledgeable about yard projects and pools, and their pricing was reasonable. * Although we already had paid-for design work from another agency, Steve tweaked and rendered updates to the yard at no charge. They also gave us special consideration on a putting green at nearly no cost. * José has a deep knowledge of plants and landscape. We like our backyard a lot--the plants have filled in beautifully and the overall look is very lush. * Most things have held up with little wear after a year, aside from a few broken sand-set pavers. * The whole yard photographs really well. * I've referred them to two friends- one finished his project in July. The bad * Our backyard doesn't appear to have been graded correctly before the rear fence went in. It's not very noticeable, but it was mentioned to me by the job-site manager's son. There's no drainage issues, just unusual info. * The job-site manager--whom we liked--was caught taking papayas from our neighbor (he even used a ladder). We were told he was removed from the project, but he later returned intermittently, so we mostly operated with a sometimes-manager. * We paid for a lemon tree, but that season's trees were diseased--we still don't have our lemon tree. * The pool looks great except for three issues: one jet was cut oddly and protrudes; a light isn't centered; and some grout added later is a noticeably brighter white than the rest. * the mini fridge was installed and the space for the door is not large enough. The door rubbing has damaged the stucco on the bar/grill area. The unusual * There were instances of needless, small lies. Because we have cameras, it was easy to cross-check whether someone had actually come by. At times I was told a visit or fix happened when it hadn't. I was even told a paver was broken and then fixed, but neither was true. My wife had similar conversations. * When I referred a friend (a large project), I was told I'd receive a $1,000 referral payment upon signing--very generous and not expected. When I checked in, it became payable at project completion. I just received it, and it was half--$500. I was also told the check had been made earlier, but it was dated the day it was delivered. I don't regret using Sunset--they offer strong expertise and fair pricing. I'd simply like the bar door fixed, the sand-set pavers replaced and our lemon tree delivered. --Josh

Thank you A to Z Pool (Albert and your awesome crew), this review is a token of our appreciation. Why you should consider A to Z Pool Replastering for your pool remodel needs? They simply beat their competitors in many ways: 1. They keep their overheads minimal in order to offer lower estimates. When I yelped, they did not appear immediately on the top of our search. It takes a little bit of scrolling down. Please be aware, Yelp gets paid for businesses to appear on the top of your search. They also do not waste expenses on brochures or unnecessary costs that customers end up paying for to keep the lights on. 2. More budget friendly. I called and booked about a handful of highly recommended pool companies for estimates based on highest number of reviews. In the end, our experience is upsell, overpriced services, and unfriendly detailed contracts of extras. I yelped again for the second round and included A to Z Pool because they advertised "budget friendly". This was the smartest first step for us. 3. Genuinely helpful and upfront. We immediately met with Albert, the owner of the company, who was very helpful in guiding us which option holds out the longest for our money's worth. He did not push sales at all, gave us great recommendations on what we needed, and was able to start and finish within the two weeks we wanted. 4. Clear communication and reliable. We had the following work done: demolition, replace tiles, replastered mini pebble (hokkita George), add baja shelf, repair mastic, replace old filter, and lastly include start up services. Communication was clear with Albert, who directed the crew each day. They arrived on time every morning and completed each task in a timely manner. If you are particular about anything, make sure to let them know. I certainly did when my spouse had our steps too narrow together. I asked them to extend it, and it was an easy, quick fix. 5. They exceeded all our expectations in terms of doing quality work and keeping our yard space clean afterwards. They did not cut corners to reduce their cost, and we all saved because they kept their overheads minimal. That's the primary aspect of how they can offer the best price for the quality work they do. A to Z made it so simple and positive for us in the entire process. This review is based on our experience and overall satisfaction with them. I highly recommend you to give them a chance.
