Our pool needed work! We procrastinated due to cost and just thinking about the major project. After several estimates, we chose Walter, at Caribbean Waves Pools and Spa, Inc. we can't speak highly enough about his professionalism and making such a large project as stress free as possible. We ended up putting pebble tech surface and travertine coping on our pool We also decided to replace our concrete in our entire backyard with pavers! There was excellent communication with Walter and he made sure that everything went smoothly and if any issues arose they were addressed immediately. We also appreciated how punctual they were every morning. We love our backyard and highly recommend this company! read more

I hired Caribbean Waves to replace a pool light that had gone out due to a faulty seal in the light housing. Walter, the owner, didn't just fix the issue--he walked me through the entire diagnostic process and explained clearly what had gone wrong. His transparency and professionalism really stood out. Once the light was replaced, my pool lit up beautifully at night. It felt like it came back to life! I was so impressed with their work that I called on Walter again to install an autofill mechanism for my pool, which hadn't been built with one. His crew arrived promptly and finished by noon with craftsmanship that didn't disappoint. Walter and his team are honest, hardworking, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their pricing is very reasonable, especially for the level of care and quality they deliver. I'll definitely continue working with Caribbean Waves for all my pool needs. Highly recommend! read more

First and foremost, thank you to Walter and Carlos. Your work is going to bring many years of joy to my family. This will probably be a lengthy review, but my hope is to fairly evaluate Caribbean Waves Pool Construction to (1) contribute to the Yelp community which is always helpful for my decision making & to (2) advocate for CW given their exceptional work. I'll keep this review to five parts that I think most of us find important: cost, schedule, communication, support, quality. Background: My family purchased a home that had a beautiful pool. But given it was from the '60s, it needed work... new plumbing, new surface, new heater, (and we wanted it shallower). Cost: Given the massive amount of work I had 4 companies quote the job. CW was by far the best price. It actually made me a little reluctant to go with them, but given they have a pool license & seeing their previous work, I was just pleased to find a solid vendor with an excellent price. Schedule: From quoting, to completing tasks, Walter & Carlos are always on time. They make their appointments, start work at 7am, and work hard all day. We only had pauses for rain, Christmas, and New Years. Otherwise they worked continuously without any time off. I really appreciated this. Communication: Walter is on it. I text him, I get replies. Never condescending, always prompt. He keeps you informed, communicates work done & upcoming tasks. And when there's an issue (like me not knowing which way to switch all these knobs), he patiently explains the process and even sends photos. Thanks Walter... I promise I'm not an idiot Support: This is still TBD. I'll update this post if support gets bad. I don't expect I'll have any issues. The small things that I needed help with (priming the pump, adjusting eyes, changing settings) Walter provided support for. I truly believe I'll have support without any issue. Quality: Probably the most important thing. IMHO, the quality is exceptional (for the work I asked them). See the before & after photos for yourself. I cannot wait to use this pool. The PebbleTec feels like an orange peel like he said. The equipment is working solid. The water looks beautiful. What a beautiful job. Again... thank you Walter & Carlos. My family hopes you continue to get business... because you're a deserving company. read more

Walter and Carlos did a phenomenal job of refinishing our old pool plaster and updating it. At every step of the way Walter was on-site to monitor his team and walk us through in detail of what is going on and what the next steps will be. We had a few last minute changes that Walter had no issue with and seamlessly pivoting to accommodate our requests. Walter is very knowledgeable in his trade and transparent in pricing and timelines. I have worked with a lot of contractors in my time and I honestly wish all contractors were like Walter. Walter and team pride themselves on providing a fair price, transparent pricing, clear timeline, follow-ups, and communication. Literally no other contractor I have worked with has been this easy to work with. If all contractors could be like Walter and Carlos the world would be just a slightly better place. Do yourself a favor and schedule Walter to come out to work on your project, you will not regret it! read more

We recently had all of the tile replaced, the lights changed out, and our pool and spa replastered by Caribbean Waves Pools and Spas, Inc. We interviewed three separate pool contractors for the job and chose this company primarily because of the owners' commitment to quality and their open communication with us every step of the way. When I called to request a bid for our project, one of the owners (Walter Castillo) answered the phone and agreed to come out the following week. When Walter arrived, I went over what we wanted done and he agreed to put together a proposal and submit it back to us. While he was here, Walter took the time to review the pool equipment and suggested some minor changes to the plumbing to alleviate some issues we were having with the jets in our spa. He spent over an hour reviewing the current set up and ensuring that I understood how the improvements he suggested would improve the water flow to the spa. From the initial demolition to the tile replacement and the final replastering of the pool, the owners (Walter and Carlos) showed up bright and early every day with their work crews. They finished on time, on budget and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend them for your next pool or spa project. read more

Great company and crew. Finished a day in advance before the agreed completion date, although they could have finished it few more days earlier. Their work is great and professionally done like real pros. We have a brand new pool and spa. Quick response to all inquiries/questions and best price so far. I highly recommend Carribean Waves. read more

My 13 year old pool pump went bad and needed a experienced pool technician to replace it. Found Walter on Yelp and based on the great reviews, I went with him to complete the work. At the beginning of January this year, my pool guy mentioned that our pool needed to be replastered due to black algae. As I was on a tight budget, I looked for many pool construction companies and received more than 10 quotations. After careful consideration, I finally decided to go with "Caribbean Waves," who provided me with the necessary works and gave the best quotation. Walter and his team were very responsible. They were always on time and contacted me ahead of time to let me know what the next steps were. It was very easy to communicate with Walter, and he always sent me text messages after the job was done each day. They finished the project earlier than expected. We did a replaster, changed the pump, filter, new skimmer, and more. I like the final look and can't wait to swim with my kid this summer. I highly recommend Walter and his team. read more

I can only say nothing but great things about Walter and the pool/spa that he build for us. The quality of the work is exceptional, and he used nothing but the best equipment for my pool and spa. Most important was his communication. Walter always responded when you call or text him. He will work hard to make you happy and he is very easy to add suggestions and will do everything in his power to make it happen even within your budget. Walter and Carlos are great people. My pool and spa look so amazing. If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to message me. The other great part is Walter will continue to stay in touch even after my job was completed. Totally appreciate that and also my pavers look amazing too. Don't hesitate to go with Walter on your next pool/spa project. read more

Wally helped me with an existing pool. It needed to be replastered, new tile, led light replacement, w/new coping and cement decking repair. He is very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about pools. His prices were competitive. In working with quite a few contractors, the two things I liked most about Wally is that 1. He is very respectful and communicates. 2. He does what he says he will. If he tells you he will be there to complete plastering on Friday, he will be there. I was thankful that he fit me into other projects he had and would recommend his services. Thanks Wally! read more

Called Walter re: pool pump to be replaced. From the start he returned my call promptly, he was very friendly and informative as I sent him pictures of my unit that needed replacement. Finding a contractor to resurface a swimming pool can be intimidating. It was with me. In the end, I am pleased and blessed to have been referred to Caribbean Waves Pool Construction and Remodel and its owner, Walter Castillo. Walter is a man of integrity, honest, and a man of his word. His goal is Customer Satisfaction. And to reach this goal, Walter: Returns/Follows up with phone calls; Provides detailed explanations to any questions in a manner that can be understood; and tells you what to expect as each construction phase approaches from Day One to completion. My wife and I are very pleased with the way our pool turned out. Walter and his crew replaced pool tile, redesigned filter return lines and removed old surface plaster and replaced it with textured mini pebble. I felt the project cost was very reasonable. The entire project was completed in a timely manner. Walter will not up-sell you. His crew is friendly. Each knows what is expected of them and they are highly skilled. They kept dust to a minimum and swept the pool area, leaving it clean at the end of each day. I highly endorse Caribbean Waves Pool Construction and Remodel. It's worth a call to Walter Castillo. read more

WHAT DISTINGUISHES A FIVE STAR COMPANY FROM ANOTHER? Yes you want them to be Licensed, Knowledgeable, Professional, Friendly, Prompt, Great workmanship Etc., At the end of the day I will call 3-4 of these 5 star companies give them specifics of the job I need done, That's where the magic comes in, it never fails one company will stand out in honesty when it comes to the price of the job. I want to thank Walter for being that Five star Top notch Company . Walter went beyond expectations, his Quote for the Spa heater and installation was half of what other 5 star companies wanted.I asked if he could add a check valve which he had no problem doing., no hidden costs for the extra work. Just a FAIR Price. If you need work on pool or spa consider Walter, I think he mentioned pavers tiling etc. read more

Thank you so much to Walter and his team at Caribbean Waves Pool Construction! We needed help to repair chipped/cracked pool tiles and also needed the concrete coping around the edge of the pool cleaned. Walter was responsive, on time, and offered a competitive price. We had some bad experiences with other companies that either didn't show up or quoted unreasonable prices for the work to be done, and were relieved to find an honest, caring person who completed quality work. Caribbean Waves followed through on every detail. Walter was communicative and helped manage expectations. The work the team did was exactly what we were looking for, and they did a terrific job of cleaning up once they were finished. Our pool tile looks like new again, and we are so pleased with the work! Walter and his team identified some pool equipment that needed to be repaired and we have been so pleased with his work that we are working with him on this project as well. Thank you to Walter, Carlos, and the team. We will be reaching out again to them when we need more pool repairs (including plaster repair eventually) because we have had such a great experience. Five stars for sure. read more

From the start with the estimate and walk through, Walter genuinely listened to what I had in mind and wanted for our pool makeover. We went over some of the cost and my visual expectations to come to a clear plan. From start to finish the experience was very pleasant with no surprises from them but we gave them a few curve balls with a "no problem "! Everyone on the project were very considerate and respectful to our property with the crew cleaning up after each day. And to mention from day one we were on a group text so everybody was on the same page with each process of the project. When the project finished ahead of time the results were better than we expected. So give them a call, you won't be disappointed! read more

Highly recommended! Walter was one of our favorite vendors that we have worked with. We called Walter to help us replaster our pool and install new coping. From the initial consultation to the final touches, Walter has been so professional and patient with our endless questions. His crew is also very professional and skillful. Each day after they were done with their work, our yard was always left clean and ready for the next day work. Walter is also extremely knowledgeable. We have a spa and pool system that has been repiped by previous owners. It was a nightmare trying to figure out which valve goes where and where the water was going. We had called 3 pool companies before and they couldn't figure out the orientation of the valve for the filtration system. Walter was able to figure out the complicated system and educate us so we know how to position our valves to filter our pool and spa. They do excellent work and prices are reasonable. He's a good guy with a great crew. We appreciate them so much. Thanks so much Walter! read more

Service requested was a pool service. Our pool was having a hard time getting clear and we were not sure why it was not clearing up. Walter sent one of his guys Jesus who was so helpful. I found Walter on yelp. My prior GC who oversaw the remodeling of my pool was a disaster so I let him go. Walter came in and was willing to help remedy the problems that someone else caused (many others were not). He was honest and reliable and has been helping our family get through fixing bad plumbing and equipment. He gave great solutions to complicated problems and understands what he is doing. He can be trusted and I would not hesitate to use him again. read more

We had our pool remodeled this summer and could not be happier. Everyone on the team was a delight to work with. They showed up early and finished the project ahead of scheduled. We are now able to enjoy our pool and gladly recommended our family and friends to work with Walt and his team as well. Walt even checked in with us afterwards to make sure we were happy with the result. Truly a pleasure!! read more

It's not common to leave a review for a company you didn't actually use, but I felt compelled to do so in this case. I was looking for a contractor to remodel my pool (tile, plaster, skimmer, etc) and called a few companies to see what the going rate was for this type of work. Walter was the most helpful of contractors, even after I let him know that I wasn't going to use him. His price was competitive and he answered every question and explained the entire process from start to finish. He even purchased a mosaic for me from the tile store and sold it to me at cost. Not often a contractor goes out of his way to do that for a customer, especially one that goes elsewhere. Walter truly cares about people, not just customers who use his company. When I broke the news to Walter, I truly felt bad that we were this close to signing the contract and starting the project. It was only because my personal friend told me at the very last second that he does pool remodels and I felt somewhat obligated to him because of our friendship. Absolutely nothing that Walter did. Had I not known about my friend, I definitely would have gone with Walter. Walter, you are truly a man of honesty and care and I'm deeply sorry for not going with you. I will definitely keep your number handy for the future. You deserve all the praise I can give you after what you had to go through for me. Thank you, Walter. read more

We initially reached out to the owner, Wally for a quote to re-plaster our pool with mini-pebbles. When we purchased our home, the pool had white plaster that was graying in patches all over and had calcified tiles. This gave the pool a dirty appearance no matter how much we cleaned it. The home is 65 years old and it didn't look like the pool was ever renovated. Wally was quick to respond and really listened to what we really wanted to do. He didn't try to up sell any addition unless we asked for options. His quote was very fair and he worked with us on spacing out the deposits so that we built trust as each milestone was met. He gave us a clear timeline and hit all of them! We love the quality of his company's work, his communication, and more importantly the honesty. He even gave us a few extra perks without being asked (Baja umbrella sleeve and upgraded our PVC pipes for our pool pump)! He's going to be our go-to person for any work needed in the future. Thanks Wally! read more
