Trying to keep this brief for my own time. From January to March I was supposed to spend 160 a month on pool cleaning, but pool was still dirty. So they charged an additional 120 in February for extra chemicals because I had a difficult pool. But end of March pool had a lot of algae and looked like it wasn't even being brushed. They wanted another $360 in more chemicals. This would bring my YTD to $960, averaging $320 a month instead of the agreed $160 per month, but the big problem was pool was dirty! I'm not paying 320 a month to have a green pool. Maybe if the pool was clean and they came to me asking to adjust the rate that would work. But I can't keep paying extra fees to have a dirty pool. The pool was so bad my new pool service had to charge an extra fee to get the pool started. They couldn't believe I had an active pool service. La pool guys had in fact been there earlier that week. Oh I forgot they did a filter cleaning duirng this time which I requested because pool flow was getting low. After the filter clean, pool flow was still low and pressure was at 20. They told me that's normal. Had to pay another service to come out. They cleaned it and got pressure down to 10 and a good flow. They said it looked like no cleaning was done. So add that to the money wasted this year. Other problems: They skipped cleanings without letting me know (holidays, rainy day, etc.) Only when I noticed the pool was dirty and asked about it, they would confirm they skipped last week. I need to be told when skipping weeks so I can clean the pool myself or make alternative arrangements. Requested service for an equipment issue. Their tech came and went and said they fixed it, but checked it and nothing was done and the same problem existed. Had to call a different pool service for repair and wasted time

He couldn't coordinate in getting this done with us on top of charging $150 to hose down some cartridges that he never got to. He wanted us to change out our entire system for $2000 which was t something that needed to be done. Our system is older but is in good shape. His words were it's pointless to actually service my pool since we wouldn't switch out the system. He hd a broken leg and hadn't been to our house in months. His tech had been coming and just skimming leaves off our pool, spend less then 1 minute, didn't stop chlorine and leaves. Did this for 5 or more months and charged us monthly mind you. Raffi an older gentleman was our pool tech who retired and apparently passed it on to Abraham, who just showed up one day. We didn't really have a choice in the matter. But in less than one year. Our pool has never ever in over 50 years looked like this. I found another young guy who is now servicing mine and our neighbors yards due to Abraham's poor customer service and anger management issues. His service is bad and so his is attitude. I chose them because they were budget-friendly, but over time I started getting charged for extra chemicals and services I never approved. When I questioned the owner, he said they were adding extra chemicals "to keep it safe for your kids and family." That was ridiculous--I don't have kids or a family. If you're charging for something extra, ask first. Don't just add it to the bill. Communication is also terrible. I repeatedly asked them not to change my pool filter settings because they kept putting it on the highest energy setting. My electricity bill has actually tripled since they started servicing my pool. The manager repeatedly assured me he told the technicians not to touch the settings, but it kept happening anyway. Even after I had a third party come out and correct the settings, they changed them again. When I finally tried to call and address the issue, they blocked my number. Cheap pricing isn't worth the headaches. In my experience, this company is sneaky, poorly managed, and lacks basic communication and professionalism.

I began doing this over a year ago because of a very poor experience with the prior provider. I wasn't doing a horrible job. I keep everything updated in software, noting chemistry results and logging all chemical additions. The chlorine levels and pH were within tolerance 90%+ of the time. So I wondered if anyone would care more and do a better job. The answer is that Chameleon does a better job; without question. Chameleon also uses software to log chemistry results (at a much more detailed level) and they have fantastic equipment to get the chemistry results (far superior to my strips). All of this, with photos of the work they have done, is emailed to us each week. I can't recommend Chameleon highly enough. Not only is the service reliable, the quality is excellent, the competency associated with understanding pool chemistry in detail is incredible (who knew phosphates were causing us problems), and the value for the money is very good.
