His words were it's pointless to actually service my pool since we wouldn't switch out the system. He hd a broken leg and hadn't been to our house in months. His tech had been coming and just skimming leaves off our pool, spend less then 1 minute, didn't stop chlorine and leaves. Did this for 5 or more months and charged us monthly mind you. Raffi an older gentleman was our pool tech who retired and apparently passed it on to Abraham, who just showed up one day. We didn't really have a choice in the matter. But in less than one year. Our pool has never ever in over 50 years looked like this. I found another young guy who is now servicing mine and our neighbors yards due to Abraham's poor customer service and anger management issues. His service is bad and so his is attitude. Over all he is a very money driven hungry man who won't get far with his attitude. Look elsewhere for your pool service. We had great conversations and built a good rapport, especially during the pandemic when I was working remotely and would often see him while he was servicing the pool. Unfortunately, over the last year or so, I began noticing a decline in the quality of service. Once I returned to the office and was no longer regularly observing the pool maintenance, several issues started to become apparent. I believe Gil may have hired additional help as his business grew, and the level of attention to my pool seemed to suffer as a result. Over the last several months, I noticed my pool's condition gradually deteriorating. My spa stopped working, the electrical panel door was frequently left open, the filter pump lid was occasionally loose and leaking water, and my pool cleaner sat in the same location for weeks without moving. I eventually discovered a broken Jandy valve that appeared to have been damaged for quite some time. What concerned me most was that I was never informed about any of these issues. I also found several bottles of algae-treatment chemicals discarded in a bucket in my yard. While this alone doesn't prove anything improper, it did raise concerns about whether chemical treatments were being used to mask underlying maintenance issues rather than addressing them (maybe another leading indicator to the increased annual service due to rising chemical costs). To be fair, I provided a full month's notice before ending service as a courtesy after nearly seven years as a customer. However, during that final month I began noticing algae spores developing in the pool, which further raised concerns about whether the pool was still being serviced consistently during the last couple of weeks. While the occasional price increases were noticeable, in all honesty, that wasn't my primary concern. My expectation is that routine maintenance includes identifying and communicating equipment problems before they become larger issues. In the final months, it felt more like a quick stop to remove a few leaves, throw in some chemicals, and move on, rather than the comprehensive pool service I had received for many years. I appreciate the good years of service and the personal relationship we developed, which is why this review is mixed rather than entirely negative. Just 6 months after the pool was done and we had been using it, the pool started to turn green. I sent messages to the owner and he said he would send someone out and it would look a little better for a week and then start turning green again. He took the time to explain what the possibilities of the pool we could do, offered several options and knew the local codes to ensure the pool was done properly. He started the project within a week so we were happy to get the project going. The one characteristic that made him stand out was when he said he was going to be there on Monday, he was there. Anyone who's done a home project knows that this is the most frustrating part of the process. His guys actually showed up each day and the project took just a few weeks. It appeared that they worked on one project until it was completed instead of being spread too thin. We added a baja shelf, some stairs that are pretty stylish, the pebbletech material and replaced the pool pump. For the pebbletech we threw in some abalone shell too and that really gives it a sparkle. Walter went way above and beyond by also fixing our pool light rather than replacing it. Overall, I could not be more happy with the project and the work that Walter did. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get their pool redone from a small project to a large.
