After being seated, Abby came over and started our consultation, asking me what I had in mind and gave me recommendations on my bangs. I have thin, flat hair, so we went with a long layered hairstyle with curtain bangs. Afterwards, she walked me to the back to the shampoo area. Like everyone else, I loved the shampoo area--it's dark green and moody with chill music and fake plants hanging from the ceiling, so you feel like you're laying in nature. It's super tranquil, especially when the scalp massage starts. I liked the Davines products they used; my scalp had a light tingling sensation and felt really clean, and the all-in-one milk made my hair smell so good. We walked back to the chair and she confirmed the length before she started cutting away. She took her time, making sure both sides were even. When she was close to finishing, she asked me how I wanted my hair styled. I went with the blowout since it was quicker and it looked like the reference pictures I showed her. Abby knows how to work a round brush with the Dyson blow dryer and really accentuated all the layers she gave me. It was pouring when I was done with my haircut, so they were nice enough to let me out through the back door that leads to the garage where my husband picked me up. Jerica showed me Hailey Bieber photo as an example (image attached), which I agreed. But then, color came too bright. She had to redo the color again after my complaint. She then showed her grumpy attitudes and saying, "you have too much hair". For this 7 hour long tiring process (yes, it's true), my hairs now become: * severely bleached and damaged. They are completely dry and will take 6 months of restoration. * now pain in hair roots. * haircut was very amateurish; she needs more experience. * I feel terrible because of all these. There are other good hair stylists in the shop. However, before Jerica was let serving customers, the owner of the shop should have Jerica under supervision of other experienced stylists which is unfortunately missing. The partial highlight that ended up costing me $762.50…read more I booked a partial highlight service and provided inspiration photos in advance showing a brunette with face-framing highlights. After nearly five hours in the salon, the service was completed and I immediately raised concerns regarding the harsh lines, visible demarcation, and lack of blending between my natural color and the highlighted sections. I also asked whether additional blending, such as a root melt, would help soften the result. Rather than discussing those concerns, there seemed to be confusion about what I was seeing, so I ultimately asked that photos be taken so we could review the result together. The attached straight-hair photos were taken at that time, before I left the salon. That's when "one" area was acknowledged and a few lowlights were added. However, the broader concerns regarding the harsh lines, visible demarcation, and lack of blending throughout the rest of my hair were largely dismissed. I was ultimately told the result was "not that bad" and that I might simply need time to adjust to having highlights. That response is ultimately why I did not return for corrective work. Had my concerns been acknowledged, I would have been open to working toward a solution. Instead, I left questioning how the issues could be corrected when they were not being recognized in the first place. The attached wavy-hair photos were taken two weeks later. By that point, the harsh lines, visible demarcation, and lack of blending were even more noticeable, leaving me embarrassed and self-conscious about my hair. I sought a second opinion from another salon, where the stylist immediately saw the same issues I had raised during my appointment. They explained that significant corrective color work would be required, expressed sympathy for the experience, and were unable to understand how I had left the salon with a result like this. The correction required additional highlights, lowlights, toning, and blending to soften the harsh lines and create a more natural result. Initial service - $300 Corrective service - $462.50 Total spent for an outcome that was not my initial goal - $762.50 Attempts to contact the salon owner through both Instagram and the salon's website gmail received no response.

Love me some shaggy shag! I have been coming to Shag salon…read morefor a little over a year now and my hair has never been so long and healthy. My preferred stylist is Maddie Angle because she always does a great job of sticking to what I ask for, but making it low maintenance. She tries to take as little off the ends as possible because she knows I want the length, and with multiple visits now it's getting quite long and we've nearly cleared out all the split ends. The salon is always easy to get an appointment at, feels reasonably priced and I love that they DONT try to push products on you like at other salons. I really lean towards 60/70s shaggy layers and they nail it all the time.
