I'm not a fan of being pressured into a service I don't want before I even sit down. I'm not a fan of being burned by scalding hot water while getting a pedicure. I'm not a fan of being stabbed by cuticle scissors repeatedly. I'm not a fan of reminding my nail person to file the nails on my other hand too. I'm not a fan of checking for dryness by rubbing a towel over my nails so my entire left hand needs to be repainted. This place managed to do all of those things in one visit. I wish I was kidding. read more

I LOVE this place. I just had what is likely the best pedicure of my life! I opted for the delux pedicure and it was well worth the extra!! I also had them do a gel manicure. My fingers and toes look beautiful. I will definitely be back! read more

Great pedicure. It was relaxing and I will probably be back. However when I got acrylics, It was hard to communicate with the nail tech. I kept telling her I wanted my nails shorter but she didn't understand and left them too long. Had to shorten and file them myself when I got home read more

Everyone here is super nice and this nail salon is SO very clean! I got a full set, pedicure, eyebrows and my 8yr old got a mani and pedi. I've been a customer here almost since they first opened. The owners are a couple who truly care about their customers. The ones they serve and the ones they can't when they get slammed. They are friendly, warm and personable. They have remodeled to offer their customers more privacy for pedicures and also have a completely private room for waxing also. Their prices are very reasonable and they now also offer a rewards program for their returning customers. I love this salon and keep returning year after year. read more

First time here. I called in advance and asked when the next available appointment was today the lady over the phone said whenever is good for you. I said, OK, but I want to know when a slot is open so I can come in get my nails done and go. The lady said, you come in and I be ready for you Exact words. I said ok, how about 15 minutes? She said, yes ok. I be ready see you in 15 minutes. Ok bye. I get to the salon and I tell them I had called to have a basic manicure. Another gal said ok have a seat. I looked around saw 3 workers and 3 clients in what appears to be in the middle of a nail treatment. I was agrivated because I had called and asked. So I waited for 10, maybe 12 minutes and when I hadn't been attended to I left. Do not tell your customers you will be ready and make them wait. Stop it! We have lives outside of the nail shop too! Don't over schedule it's not good business. read more

Very good experience as usual. It was worth the drive from Kent. It was perfect for some girls time. Very relaxing and I came out satisfied. The owners have excellent customer service. Modern Nails - My manicure for an interview by the owner. - Nail Salons Near Me - Olympia, Washington

Awesome service. Smells great looks great. The massage settings on the chairs all work and that stations are clean tidy and sanitized. They are skilled in doing different more complicated designs unlike a lot of other shops around. They would have gotten a 5 star from me except I had to give too many instructions about my eyebrows AFTER they were done. If you get your eyebrows here be sure to specifically ask for someone to do then that is skilled at it. read more

Christie does beautiful nail art. Show her a picture and she'll do her best to make it work. To include 3D art! They're relatively inexpensive and she takes great pride in her work. Eyelash extensions are also on par with pricier salons. They just remodeled and it looks fantastic. read more

Very relaxing atmosphere, great staff, no complaints here, my pedicures have always been exactly what I wanted

This is my new nail spot! Absolutely loved the service and the quality they provided, I will be back and continue to recommend to everyone! Came in after happy nails completely butchered my full set. Made an appointment and glad I did because it got pretty busy. Walked in and it was a small, quiet and clean salon. Immediately several people greeted us as we walked in, there were so many options for gel and a wall to my left of regular polish to choose from, and my friend was getting tips done and they had a TON of specialty colors and designs to choose from, my friend ended up getting a sparkly dark blue and white tips and she loved it!! I walked in with a lilac coffin tip with gems by the middle two fingers nails bed. They gave me EXACTLY what the picture I provided looked like! They were very kind with their motions and soft with their tools lol. AND THEY ACTUALLY TALK TO YOU HERE! I hate it when the manicurist either ignores you or talks to someone else while they are doing your nails and they were so nice and interactive it was so great! They worked with me every step of the way even when I made him shorten them twice lmao. I love my nails and their prices were amazing especially for this area. They also have waxing and lashes and next time I am definitely going to try it out! My friend got hers done and they looked amazing! read more

The absolute BEST nail salon in all of Olympia! I love getting my nails done, who doesn't! And I also love to try out new places; I'm always looking for the most talented manicurists and the best price, as well as a location that is clean, friendly, and easy to get an appointment. Sounds impossible to have all these in one shop, right? Nope! Modern nails is IT. They have so many little extras, 3D nail art, hot stone massage, just these fabulous details that make sure you have the most amazing mani/pedi of all time. I'm so so happy to be a regular client here. They are always so kind, and have a rewards program that gets your $5 off your next service after so many 'check-in's.' Affordability, and talent (Christy is the most amazing nail tech!), comfort and cleanliness, this place cannot be beat. Give it a shot! You'll be so happy you did! read more

Not happy. Dirty facility. Just went in the get a regular manicure. Simple. Easy. They had a very elderly lady do the job, she was very nice, but my nails looked like my 5 year old did them. Then two other people tried to fix it only making it worse. They blamed the fact that my nails are "bumpy". I asked for the terrible paint job to be removed and they charged me $10. I will NEVER return and I WILL be spreading the word. This place is gross. The guy who charged me was sick with a cold and while he was removing the polish we was wiping his snot on his sleeve. DISGUSTING! read more

My mom & sister-in-law & I came in while visiting from out of a town. We're here for a wedding and wanted something fun beforehand. We did call the day before for an appointment for 3 mani-pedis but they were ready for us when we came -- except sis-in-law waited a lot longer in the pedi-spa chair before they had a free staff member. 3 spa pedicures later, we were all super relaxed and enjoying ourselves. Mom got a gel French, sis-in-law and I got regular manis. I was very happy with the owner's designs on both my mani and pedi. One concern--she left the tiniest traces of my old polish on a couple of fingers and I didn't notice til after she was all done. But overall it was a great Yelp find on our mini-vacation! Definitely worth trying. read more

Modern Nails - My French ombre nails with a little glitter on the white...in love! - Nail Salons Near Me - Olympia, Washington

Horrible nail place. My niece and I went in for a full set they sat us down and we waited for 35min for someone to come do our nails. There was one lady doing both my niece and mines nail. She put the acrylic on mine had me sit for another 35 minutes while she put the acrylic on my niece then she came to shape mine and file then she went to my niece and did the same and then came back to me to me to finish filing. When she was done i was waiting for the lady who does design but she was busy charging people and doing another girls design at the same time. I waited another 20 min AND SHE STARTED SOMEONE ELSES FILL KNOWING I WAS WAITING!! So then I said I don't want no design Just gel color. So after when I went to pay the lady who was supposed to do my nails design charge me and she asked me if I liked my nails and I said no I think they're very ugly they're all miss shaped which they were and I showed her them and she seen what I was talking about but she said that she didn't think there was anything wrong with them so I paid and left but I would never go back there ever again. read more

My nails turned out surprisingly nice but I wouldn't go here ever again !! Their service sucked really bad. I made an appointment for 4 people to get a pedicure. As usual I showed up 5-10 mins earlier just in case and they didn't did not have the proper people to get them done. One lady was placing the acrylic nails on each of us while others had other duties. She put glue all over my finger just for the nail to fall off. There was a huge gap between my actual nail and the acrylic. My sister right next to me actually had her finger glued to the lady's finger. After that I sat on a chair for a hour and a half without anyone coming to make sure I'm okay or to help make my nails so much for better by finishing it. I had no powder on, just the acrylic nails itself. It's like they had one person to place the nails, one person to put the butterflies on, one person to paint, etc. finally 20 mins later some other guy came in and assisted. He knew what he was doing. His customer service along with experience was perfect. Finally after waiting for a long time I had another guy who I believe I the manager come do my nails, he took his time and I ended up staying two hours after they have closed. I was quoted $85 which I understood because there was a lot of diamonds (12) in total I believe along with the butterflies. After waiting so long it was getting much more late and just said nvm about the diamonds because I was getting impatient of waiting. Me thinking they'd lower the price a little bit I still had to pay $85. I could've just went to my original nail tech and got that done for $60-$70. It's beautiful don't get me wrong but not worth the time and quality. read more

I've been coming here to get my nails done for quite some time. They have always turned out great! Occasionally the wait time can be kind of off putting, especially when you come in first (and you have an appointment) and they'll get up and serve walk in customers. But I understand, sometimes there is only one or two people working and they don't want to neglect anyone. Other than that, the staff is very sweet and do a great job, as far as acrylic nails go. I haven't had any of their other services but they put a lot of care and detail into the work they do from what I've noticed. read more

This is the only place around, that I know of, that does 3D nail art. It's been 4 days short of 4 weeks since I got it done & it still looks pretty amazing (I was warned that it would only last 2 weeks though. Modern Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Olympia, Washington

If I could leave zero stars I would. I went in to simply soak off my full set. They lady working with me placed my fingers in the acetone then quickly took it out and started forcing the nails off resulting in my natural nail being damaged. She then placed my fingers in the acetone once more then left to take another customer that walked in and didn't return. An older lady I'm assuming is her mother came over and started working on my nail then quickly returned my fingers to the bowl of acetone and proceeded to watch tv. At this point I was exposed to this acetone for over 30 minutes so I removed my fingers from the bowl as they started to burn. I told the lady they were burning and she tried to put my hand back in the bowl (I'm assuming she probably didn't speak or understand English). I pulled my hand away and said no it burns. What does she do? Did a cotton ball in acetone and wiped it all over my hands and palm. At this point I'm like wtf. Following this she put cuticle oil on my nails and wiped it off with more acetone then send me on my way. I left with my hands and nails looking like complete trash. I had to run into a nearby store to wash my hands multiple time to try to get the acetone off in order to alleviate the burning then lotion my hand to attempt to regain some type in moisture. This was a terrible experience and I would never even consider that place again. read more

I used to love this place. I don't know if it's a staff issue or what but never again. First off I had to stop the girls from painting before she evened my nails by filing them. They were horrible. Kind of round and not straight or even the same length. My cuticles I also had to ask to be done. She was just going to paint them. When I mentioned it they argued and said the they did it in the water when I was talking to my friend next to me. And I must not have noticed!! They cut them so short they were not able to make them even I guess. Or once again that was just good enough for the lady doing them...lazy! Also the polish doesn't cover to the edges at all. The gel polish was peeling up before I left and I was half way through my hands when I realized how terrible me toes looked. I didn't even finish painting my hands. The owner who is usually great, was rude and actually said " you let me talk" while trying to explain why I didn't want my hands done! This is my second experience with them like this. Never again!!! read more
