I really like this salon. You can make appointments online through the Booksy app or by calling their salon. Both are very easy. You definitely should make an appt as they are usually very busy. I always make appointments and they are almost always on time. There have been just a few times I have had to wait past my appt time. I appreciate being able to get in and get out, after work. I have had my nails done by several nail techs but Tina usually does mine. She does such an amazing job. The other gals are very good too but Tina really pays close attention to detail and can replicate pretty much any photo of nail art that you show her. The salon is clean and does not have an overpowering smell of chemicals like many nail salons do. The salon has great hours and easy parking. The prices are on the higher end in comparison to other salons in the area but the quality of the work makes the price worth it to me. read more

Went with a friend for a pedicure. They never showed us a menu, just did the base pedicure. Their color selection was very limited. The person that did my pedicure didn't remove all of my old polish and did a poor paint job (uneven coverage, polish on cuticles, polish on skin), and when I asked them to fix it they said it was too late (they hadn't done the top coat yet). They then told me they'd be back to put on the top coat amd started a new client. I had to ask for someone to finish the job. I won't be back. read more

Worst manicure experience of my life. Made an appointment for a classic gel manicure, and brought my 4 yo for a princess manicure. The tech used some kind of dissolver instead of acetone/foil soak to remove my old gel (which was new to me), but when she went to remove it with the efile it spattered all over the back of my hands and BURNED like acid! I told her it was burning my skin and she said "I know" and continued...?? When she brought the bowl of water to put my nails in I was dying to wash it off the back of my hands! I had requested olive green with chrome finish, but every time the tech attempted to apply the chrome it was smudgey and wouldn't cure under the uv light. She kept swapping out the lights and trying again, only to realize after probably the 10th time that she'd been using a base coat as a top coat. I'm a redhead with very fair skin, if I would have known my hands would be spending this much time under the UV I would've applied sunscreen! By this point my hour was up and she had to move on to another client, so a different tech took over. She decided to use ONLY the efile to grind off the gel (I'm guessing to save time), taking quite a bit of my natural nail with it. The manicure looked nice when she was done (even if it was more of a kelly green than olive), but left my nails paper thin. They were super bendy and started cracking and breaking within 24 hours, and now I have to cut them all the way short and wait months for them to grow back strong. The first tech had even complimented me on my long, strong, natural nails... well, not anymore! Two hours later (and 1.5 hours after my kid's manicure was finished), I go to pay and the guy and the front desk took $5 off for the inconvenience, but then informed me that there's an extra $10 charge for chrome. I thought he was joking. He was like "oh, no one told you? It's because adding chrome is like having to do your nails twice". I was flabbergasted. #1, no sir, it is typically a 1-2min process that cost $5 extra, #2, when I say what I'm looking for, normally the tech tells me up front how much extra it will be, and #3 you're seriously going to be a stickler about this when I came in for a simple service, and now I've been here with my 4 year old for over 2 hours and am walking out with nails that bend literally like paper? I basically just said "whatever" in the moment because I was dying to get out of there, but now that multiple nails have broken and cracked in the last 48 hours I just had to say something. Obviously, I'll never be coming back here again. read more

When I called to I got an appointment for 315pm. He said I could come in at 3 and just relax. I came at 318pm . And got already the unwelcome look. I did t feel comfortable but I thought i will give a chance since this place I heard only good things about. Well I know for a fact they talked about my feet even they spoke in their language. I know it since the other lady looked at my feet. She then said it was someone's bday from the shop and they allowed to leave at 4. Well she rushed thru my pedicure telling that regular nail polish takes longer to dry then gel. Well im not paying extra 10 dollars because u wanna leave early. I got the French then she talking bad about my toe and it wouldnt look the same like the other toes. I received so many French manicure and NO ONE told me that. When we were done I paid cash she forgot to give me a dollar I told her and she handed it rude and was talking something about the dollar while I walked out. If u knew our employees leave at 4 don't make an appointment at 315 and rush thru it. I came extra from Dupont.i could saved my gas and time. Today I called at 5:30 to get an appointment after the website said there were no openings. The gentleman said he could move some things around and get me in at 6:00!!! Once I arrived I was greeted by just about every employee there. I only waited for about 5 minutes. I can't remember her name... But the woman taking care of me was AMAZING. She listened to what I wanted, took her time and made sure EVERYTHING was perfect. And I had the same person from start to finish. I'm use to the places that bounce you from one employee to the next like a ping pong ball. Thank you all so much!! I was taken to this spa a few years back for a girls night and this has been my go to salon to get my nails done. The nail artists are always super sweet and I love going to see Ann. Ann is my go to girl and she does amazing nail designs and does great shaping. She's open to working with you on certain designs and makes the experience overall fun. The vibe is very quiet but busy, it's good to go with a friend or family member to join you but there's music on as well. I haven't been in awhile to take a break with my nails but Ann will always be the lady that will do my nails! read more

I love this place. Why? Appointments and no upsell. Appointments... I have been going to here almost 3 years. I love that you can make an appointment through an app, and they honor it. I've never had an issue with time. There also is not that "it will be 20 minutes " and there you are, still sitting there 30 minutes later. And, you can pick the tech and service you want. Upsell.... I stopped going to that other very popular salon that has the letter T in it (and why people still go there, no clue) there was nothing I hated more than to be continually asked "do you want a manicure?" Are you sure? Do you want gel? I know what I want... quit asking because I actually want to try to relax. I predominantly get only pedicures. I've had a handful of regular manicures. I had my first facial in years at SalonSpa and it was wonderful! The aesthetician was so gentle. I didn't have any spots of irritation or inflammation on my face. It was relaxing and just what I needed (and wanted). I was not subjected to some of the negatives that can occur during a facial (e.g., someone going "Tsk tsk tsk." and then telling you everything wrong with your skin. Same issues a year later. I returned after a year to give it another try since I still have yet to find a decent salon. Ironically, I got the exact same color I got a year ago (basic much lol). Unfortunately, the experience was also the same, gel polish chipped not even 24 hours later. One thing that was better was that I wasn't there long but I'm not sure if that's a good thing because it shows in the work. I will be going back to get this fixed to hold me over for the next two or three weeks, but sadly won't return again. read more

I've gone to three other nail salons in the Oly/Tumwater area and this one has provided the most consistent results when I get enhanced nail services. I consistently get my nails with gel that last 2-3 weeks and then I return for a fill and new colors. I also had dip powder done before with great results. Everyone is friendly and you can tell they aim to take care of their customers. They offer water, tea and coffee. The shop can get busy. My family and I (4) booked our appointments online which was very convenient - since we were a large group. Each one of us had a manicure and pedicure. We arrived at 12:15 and all of us were done at 2:15. Time management which is totally unheard of in most facilities - there were an ample amount of manicurists to help us accomplish our mission. I made an appointment for a gel manicure for the first time, and decided to try SalonSpa as it got pretty decent reviews. I'm sad to report the experience was overall very unpleasant. She cut my long nails all the way to my fingers, even though I did not have any broken nails. I like my nails long and did not ask for all this length to be removed. While filing my nails this short, she also was filing my fingers in the process and it really hurt. I audibly said "ouch" and there was no reaction or concern at all. The torture continued as she cut up my cuticles and then spritzed my fingers with alcohol, which is easily the worst pain I've felt at any manicure experience. This pain was magnified when she had me put my hands in the UV light. I'm sorry, but if I'm paying for a manicure, I expect a relaxing experience where I can feel pampered. While the gel itself was long-lasting, I did not like my short nails and I certainly didn't care for a manicure going so fast and careless that I experience this much pain in the process. SLOW DOWN and ask people what they want first before cutting off all the length. read more

I was extremly happy with Salon Spa today and wish I had tried it sooner. Tina did an amazing job on my nails. I walked in at 9:00 and she was ready for me. They stayed on time, the place was clean. It was post covid everyone was masked and you were asked to wash your hands upon entering. They took their time on my pedicure really massaged my legs. SalonSpa is a husband/wife owned Salon. The family atmosphere is quite apparent in the welcoming you receive. It is like you are visiting their home. I have been there a few times now and have been incredibly happy with the service. NOTE: To all of you germ-a-phobes: YES - They do have Tub-Liners!!!! I asked about tub-liners for the pedicure tubs and was told they are available if anyone request them. Scott is such a stickler for cleanliness, that I have not yet requested them. I did actually watch him clean out the tubs between clients and he was thorough. Scott, the husband, is in charge of the front end of the business. He is very personable and makes sure his clients are treated like family. He is a stickler for cleanliness and sterilization, which makes me feel very comfortable there. While discussing the business on my first visit, I found that they value the employees as much as their customers and mentioned the typical turnover of many salons. He wants to make sure his "girls" stay and are happy. We joked about how he is kind of like "Bosley" from "Charlie's Angels" - one man with a group of women working with him. After reading various stories of some salons having what is basically slave-labor, I appreciated that Scott mentioned paying his girls well, and making sure they each have their personal envelope of tips, along with a daily accounting of all of the services they performed. I love the fact that they believe in transparency and fully describe what services entail for each price-point. So often when you go to a salon, it will state something like "premier salon pedicure", yet you have no idea what is included. Scott will show you a list of services, along with their pricing, and ask you to select what you would like. Neither Kimberly or Amy have tried to upsell their services ... a very nice change from other salons. The service listing and price list is also on their website. You can also make appointments directly from the website ... a terrific feature. Kimberly, the wife, while trained in all areas, excels working with hair. She gives wonderful cuts and is very nice. I have used her services twice and have been very happy with the result. She is very sweet and is in-tune with the customer as to whether they would like to converse or not. (First time I was more chatty than the last time ... most of the time when I have my hair done I just close my eyes and relax. I can't see a thing without my glasses on, so trying to watch the progress is hopeless for me.) Amy has given me my two mani/pedi's and has done very well. She too takes the cue of the customer as to whether to talk or not and has a good sense of humor. She does describe the services and let's the customer know what is available. Last time, after discussing various services, she suggested my having a facial on a future visit to see what a difference it could make. (My skin is not the best and I appreciated the suggestion. She was very good in not implying my skin is bad, but instead focused on how good it would feel, and allowing me to try another service offering to see if I enjoy it.) I truly enjoy their team and believe them to be professionals who care about each other and their clients. read more
