I had such a great experience with Nora today at Yunique! She kindly let me come in on short notice and really listened to what I wanted. I lost all my hair due to chemo and it has grown back rather strangely. I needed a cut that would make it manageable and I am very pleased. Thank you Nora for seeing me today! read more

Great stylist. Friendly people in the shop. Great haircut. I recommend this shop to anyone

Nora was my hair stylist and she did a awesome job styling my hair. Had colored my hair on my own and it looked really bad!! I got bad comments on how I always push my hair backwards to look like an old man. I wanted to look like a picture I found of Brad Pitt and she knocked it out of the park. Totally recommend her!! read more

Niecy was spectacular with my Tween daughter and worked wonders with her long fine hair! My daughter had her heart set on a complex layered cut right before school started, and Niecy went above and beyond to get us in! Fantastic communication! Super clean and fun salon in a wonderful location! I'm going to go back and get a great new style for myself, now that I'm brave enough to know someone I can trust to work with ultra fine hair! We will be recommending Yunique Salon and Niecy to everyone we know!! read more

When I first came to Niecy, my hair was an absolute mess. It was over processed and falling out. The person that had been doing my hair destroyed it. Niecey was very honest abiut what we needed to do to restore and preserve my hair. Its now grown back and absolutely beautiful. She now had a long term care plan to keep my hair looking the way I want and still staying healthy. I appreciate her so much for not just trying to make a dollar but really taking care and pride in what she does and truly caring about her clients best interest. read more

I am so thankful for Millicent, who on very short notice after my hair consultation was able to take me in for a complete bleach and tone. I had previous color and bleach in, and she was able to fix it and make it into the most beautiful beige blonde color. She was super sweet and very entertaining, engaging with her customers and it felt like a very personable experience overall. So I was new to the area and I work at Providence Hospital, where a coworker recommended Yunique Hair Studio for a haircut. So the following day I called and the woman who answered asked me what I needed done, I said just a basic trim, so she said ok I will call you back to set up a appointment... Assuming she was working ~she never called me back! What a way to make a impression!!!! Great way to treat a New referral. A haircut could have led to a coloring and etc. Not too mention now I tell everyone at the Hospital the experience I had. read more

Mel styled my hair last Friday. This was my first visit to Yunique. First impression: this is the cleanest hair salon I have ever been in. There isn't any dust or hair, no paper or messiness anywhere. Sink areas were neat and clean as well. The bathroom was also neat and clean with cloth to dry your hands. Another big plus, there was no loud music playing. The atmosphere was relaxing without putting you to sleep. Mel styled my hair just like I asked. She was very nice and allowed me to be in charge of what I wanted. Many stylists want to tell you what you want. Plus, she gave the most relaxing scalp massage I have ever had. (Mel, I am in love with you! your massage, that is.) I definitely recommend Yunique and Mel. read more

Where do I begin from the moment Niecy met me at the door and the high end feel to a salon. (I love the chandelier in the shampoo area). Very private stations and the feeling of professionalism yet Warm and inviting. I had damaged hair and color issues that honestly Had made me feel the past 6 months very unattractive...Niecy made that all change for me as she spent time listening to me and hearing ME!!! After the processes were complete I broke down in tears of joy that as a 65 year old women who is struggling with aging anyway, felt 10 years younger and ready to be confident again in a world where appearance is big. Don't get me wrong I am confident but when you Are already fighting the changes of getting older and then a hair dresser damages your hair and you are new to the area and don't know where to go but you lucked out and got Niecy!!! I am a new woman because of her and can't wait to continue this relationship the rest of my life. Thank you Niecy from the bottom of my heart...also let me say the feeling of support from all hair dressers was amazing. When I get pics I will post...don't hesitate to contact Niecy and feel that you will have the best experience! Carol read more

I was very lucky to find Mel. I recently moved from Oregon to the Washington area and needed to find a stylist who was good with short hair. I have a pixie style with long bangs. Don't expect to receive an answer to a message inquiring about an appointment. They will read it and not respond. Edit to update that I sent a message directly to the salon's Facebook page. Ladies and gentleman.. I don't care how you get here... Car, bus, train or plane, but you need to get here. My hair was a disaster. 52 shades of crazy and 13 different lengths. I was a hot mess. I took a chance (because Lord knows I was about to give up on my hair's life!) and decided to see if anything was available over the weekend for a cut. I was quite shocked and extremely grateful to find out that Soon had already gone home for the night, but she must have heard the desperation in my voice, because she came back! This woman is everything!!! She examined my hair, asked questions, tried to figure out what happened, gave suggestions and she came up with a plan. She took my choppy hair and made it beautiful again! Not only did she fix the problem but she made my hair look like a real style and not an accident. She ALSO went above and beyond by showing me styling products and their uses. She gave me a full lesson and sent me on my way. I would HIGHLY recommend this place! Everyone is friendly, it's clean and decorated with a cozy feel. Make sure to make an appointment... I see this place blowing up! read more

It's always a bit stressful trying a new salon, but Yunique is worth it. Niecy did a great job with my color! Gave me lots of good advice. She was professional, and skillful -- so much so that I made a follow up appointment to see her again for color and a cut. While I was there I watched a couple of the other stylists working. Their clients looked great! The lobby area had a large display of numerous products (Pureology, Kevin Murphy, Loma, etc) that they use and sell -- every brand I could ever want. Atmosphere was positive, pleasant. The prices charged were very reasonable. I'm happy. read more

This salon is by appointment only, which is great....I've had my hair done by Soon Lee twice and both times I was extremely satisfied with the color, cut, and style. It has taken a little over a year and several salons in the Olympia area to finally find a stylist that is consistent, listens to what her clients want, and makes recommendations based upon her experience and expertise. My initial appointment with Soon Lee was a consultation in which she looked at my current hair condition and asked what I wanted done, she gave suggestions and scheduled me a few days later for an appointment . My concern was the fast growth of gray hair at my temples. Soon Lee addressed that issue by giving me lighter color highlights. I was so impressed I scheduled my second appointment 6 weeks out. Normally by the 4th week my gray here is obvious and I can't wait to get my hair colored, but by the time the 6th week came about the gray wasn't so noticeable. It was there but it blended in with the highlights. At my second appointment Soon Lee was consistent with caring for my hair. The added bonus to Soon Lee's expertise with hair is her welcoming, open, friendly personality. This place is a hidden gem. It's by appointment only so I'm not even sure how busy her schedule is or if people in Olympia already know how great this salon is...but I decided to give this review for those looking for a go to salon/stylist. read more

Awesome environment, vibe and skill. I am obsessed with the outcome. I got several inches cut off and went lighter with the color, usually when I get big changes like that I tend to need soak time but I loved the cut and color immediately :D I am so happy with my entire experience! I love confident, competent hairstylists. Soon Lee was fabulous at giving her professional opinion on what hairstyle would go with my face shape. I had something in mind (showed her a few pics) and she worked with what I wanted and what she knew would work with my face. She worked on my hair for nearly 2 hours because I had such thick Asian hair. In the process, learned she studied hair in Europe. No wonder she isn't cheap, but she was way better than what I got from my previous haircut at a 5 star hair salon in Olympia (hair stylist who didn't cut my hair evenly in the back! Sigh). The salon doesn't look posh, but it's no contest when it comes to having a great hairstylist who understands your needs! Tip: Call for an appointment. read more

Went to this salon with confidence since all the reviews are great. But when I got my haircut here, I got a haircut that is different from the style i showed to the lady. I showed the hairstylist a picture of what I wanted, layered haircut where the front side is shorter than the back side. But what I got is a haircut where the back side is shorter than the front and BARELY has layer on it. Never coming back, I just gave three stars for the lady's effort washing and drying my very long hair before getting the haircut that is FAR from what I showed her that I wanted. I thought of having it fixed but my hair has gotten really short now for the style that I wanted. read more

IDO NOT GO HERE!!! Completely unprofessional. I made an appointment (with the OWNER!) and worked my entire work week around so i could take off early and be at the appt on time. When i walked in i was not greeted for at least 10 minutes and when i finally was i was rudely told that the hairstylist I was going to see hadnt been in all day. Instead of trying to accomidate me after i explained that this is the ONLY time i can come in during their business hours i was sent away. How incredibly rude. I would have appreciated a call, an apology, a new hairstylist, ANYTHING. Especially considering my appt was at 5pm...they had the entire day to notice the error and give me a heads up. Instead i went to 360 SALON right next door. They were very friendly and told me to come back in 30 minutes and they would get me in. read more

Soon Lee is amazing! A month ago I got one heck of a goofy haircut at a certain salon in Lacey. I don't know how that person messed my hair up so bad, but it was an absolute mess.
