$40 something for a pedicure. The chairs were nice, the people were polite, but $40 was a bit high for basically a nail trim and a few hot towels. They didn't use the "cheese grater" just a quick swipe of a pumice stone. No deep clean feeling here... my feet feel rough still. read more

I want to preface this revie... 100% unsolicited but I absolutely LOVE this place and they deserve to stand out from the other nail salons in town. If you go anywhere else in Princeton you'd be crazy! Tom at the front always answers the phone and is super accommodating for scheduling, and the product line they offer from builder gel to regular mani/pedinis still better than any of the other dozen nails salons popping up in the area, the sterilization and sanitation is well kept and the color & design choices are endless. Nathan does my Tap Gel nails and Danny does my pedicure. I can show them any design and they can recreate it better than the pic. I have been to the Modern Nail Bar 3 times and had a gel pedicure. The first time I went the nails on my toes were cut at a slant, where the left side of the nail was cut higher than the right. I forgave the cut because I got a great foot massage. The next time I went it was fire. My nails look great and I got the best foot massage. So my daughter said let's go get a pedicure and I was right on board. But l should have said no. We went and had to wait, not a problem, but it was over an hour. When I got my service that is where the problem started. She did do my nails first and then the message. She started the timer as said 12 minute message. Then she went on to put her tools away before she started the message. I was not incredibly mad because it was past closing hour. But her message was lame and I was not satisfied at all. When I got home I realized my gel pedicure was already chipping and one set of toes was darker than the other. So now I have burgundy toes on the left side and red on the other. I should have paid better attention at the shop but I was spending the time talking to my daughter. I paid for a service and tipped for something that was not right and it was not the first time. I did like my lemon drop martini. The vibe of the place was nice but not consistent. I understand that we were there past closing hour but come on the colors should match. read more

They do great work, and 2 alcoholic drinks are on the house, but they are very overpriced. I live in Las Vegas, NV, and I don't pay that much for a mani/pedi there, and LV is overpriced for everything, lol. First, no mani/pedi specials so you have to pay full price for each. Second, they charge $20 extra for gel polish, and I don't mean total; $20 for hands then $20 for feet. So before you get anything done, you're already at $40 just for polish. The service is excellent, and I didn't experience a language barrier so that was good, but they really need to rethink their upcharge for gel polish and introduce some mani/pedi specials. read more

I had been thinking about trying this place since they opened but unfortunately I could not find the right time to stop by until this past weekend. The environment is beautiful and they have a gentleman in the front that is so polite! Asked questions and double checked which what I wanted. The service itself (refill and change of gel color plus a pedicure) the man doing my feet was nice and friendly but when he was clipping my toenail on my left foot he got me good..I guess I had an ingrown toenail but it hurt and he didn't say a word of even the sight of some blood in it. It's now been 3 days and that toe still hurts and I just noticed and a bit swollen....on another note my acrylic nails were reshaped( previously almond), I requested square but with rounded edges. They were also repainted and the old polish is still on the sides of some nails.. it looks like smudges. Otherwise I was satisfied with the color and length of the nails read more
