The Nail technicians who did our pedicures as well as the pedicures next to us Were extremely unsanitary. Narrowed it down to this place after reading reviews of a ton of nail salons. I arrived shortly after they opened because I know Saturdays are usually busy. The place is nice and well-ventilated. They offered me a choice of beverages but I opted for a coffee and it was divine. Jane did my Dip Ombre and OMG, she is very thorough and pays attention to detail. My nails were all shaped the same and had the perfect amount of thickness. Not everyone can shape a nail and I'm very particular about my nail shape (I usually have to reshape them when I get home). The ombre was done correctly (I've had some terrible ombre) and prior to starting, she even did two separate sample nails to make sure I picked the one I liked. Well this is truly one that's in the top Five for sure! They have a happy hour for nail time! The interior design of the shop was really clean and chic. They had large TV screens for entertainment. They also have massage chairs. I really liked how this salon specified that they had gel colors that already came with a matching regular polish so I didn't have to go looking for one. I had the Deluxe Pedicure for 46$. $41 bucks,because of happy hour! I was able to leave a $20 tip! The service includes: aromatic foot soak natural nail care, cuticle details, callus removal, sugar scrub, aromatic mud mask, paraffin treatment, hot volcanic stone, and relaxing hot towel wrap with 15 minutes of massage. I came in to get my nails and feet done. The guy in the front helped me as I entered in. I told him I had 130.00 to work with and the design I wanted on my nails. I reassured him it's all that I had. He says no worries- I can help you. I asked for DUCK nails and the guy that did them assured me that that's what I'd get. None of my nails came out duck like. Then the lady doing my feet was very rough and kept moving my leg while the guy was moving my arm. Too much going on. My feet came out okay- not the best at all. My nails were then "designed" and the man tried to charge me 20 per nail. Lol it gets worse. I go to check out- my bill is now 169.00.... And that's with the happy hour discount. So be prepared for this review because this spa deserves an awesome one!! While in Texas my nails needed a fresh gel manicure so my daughter suggested Ruby Nails where she likes how Vu shapes her natural nails. Of course I will use her recommendation as she is quite particular. Now this shop isn't on the beaten path and requires a bit of looking for in the plaza, it's store front faces Central Expressway and is on the backside of Stretch Zone which is on the backside of the little strip mall it's located in. I called a couple days before to make my appt for a Thursday at 1pm and was able to get in with no problem. When I arrived, I was kindly greeted by a nice gentleman come to find out later he was the owner, Vu. He directed me to the menu of services asking me to pick which manicure. At first I was taken back by the prices especially for the top manicure; however never experiencing such a lavish salon back home, I went for it. Who doesn't want to be pampered while vacationing. He then asked me to pick my gel out of three well organized polish books. After which he escorted me to my seat where another kind gentleman, Kyle would begin my extravagant manicure. But before describing it, I just want to tell you this salon is magnificent!! It is super big, clean and nicely decorated. A huge and beautiful chandelier hangs over the front desk while changing colors. Big TVs hang on walls everywhere to keep one entertained while waiting or having your services performed and nice music playing so no voice coming from the TVs which is lovely. However you can read the captions. From my view, the salon was kept up very nicely. Now here is the amazing part of this experience...before Kyle began my manicure, Vu, the owner came to me and gave me a drink menu. Oh man there was so many drink choices and I had to ask if there was a charge and he kindly replied "no, complimentary". I was beside myself as I've never had drinks offered at a salon. I chose a yummy iced Vietnamese coffee but as you can see the drink menu there are many choices. Kyle proceeded with my manicure which he was fabulous. Very meticulous and precise on my natural nails. Now this wasn't just any manicure but a NAIL EXPERIENCE!! Many different stages that took place to complete my lovely nails. Four different packages were applied, some oils, some lotions for the massage which included hot stones, and hot towels while some of the lotions penetrated into my skin and also collagen for my hands. And when I thought my manicure was over, Kyle began to give my neck and shoulders a massage. Boy, it just kept coming and I felt so pampered and did NOT mind spending the amount I paid. I must tell you, Kyle gave my nails a fabulous manicure, but he does have a bit of a firm touch. Just a heads up. However I would let him know when he massaged me and eased up so just let him know. When they say "everything is bigger in Texas", they aren't kidding! . You know I will be back when visiting my daughter. By the way, Vu, the owner keeps the place running like a well oiled machine. He keeps running the entire time; seating clients, giving out drink menus, making drinks & serving them, and many other tasks. He was very nice to chat with and he always had a smile when dealing with his employees and clients. Kyle even made mention he is very nice and likes working for him. So if you haven't experienced this incredible salon yet, what'cha waiting for...go and get pampered!! After being a long-time customer, I have decided to find another nail salon. All but 2 of my nails (dip with tips) popped off within 9 days of getting my nails done. That has never happened in the 15 plus years I have been getting my nails done. I politely talked to the manager and told him about the nails coming off. Instead of apologizing, he said he can't guarantee the nails last after a week. He told me it was not the technician's fault, that nails often time come off. I told him that I have had a nail or two come off, but not 8. He said I could get them redone, but he would have to charge me. I told him that's okay, I will just go somewhere else. Then he offered me a 20% discount. I declined, because I did not feel that was substantial, considering how expensive it is to get dips and tips. A good business owner would have redone them right then and there for free. I will not be returning. Also, I asked for ROUND shape, and I got square. read more

Disconnect in communication between technicians and payment desk. The technician Kyle, seemed rushed through the whole process. I got a basic pedicure and he was so freakin aggressive- he cut my pinky toe and it was bleeding. He quickly sprayed it with something and put super glue? on it to stop the bleeding. He aggressively scraped/pushed back my cuticles, it was very painful. Then while pumicing, he just went to town, I told him it was TOO MUCH, that he was hurting me. He said "sorry, used to thick skin" ... My skin is dry and he was sanding off the "good" skin. I don't have callouses! Its not like its been years since I've had a pedicure!! Maybe 2 months! He did apologize and started being more gentle. But now my feet HURT. Not the relaxing treatment I hoped for. While I was getting my epidermis sanded off, my granddaughter was getting french tips- her technician upcharged her from the $50 we were quoted to $82. Her technician told her it was $5 more but she could use a 15% off coupon so she agreed, believing the 15% off would offset the extra charge. She CLEARLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF HER!!! Her cuticles are inflamed and 2 fingers were bleeding because she worked on her so aggressively. I was taken aback when we got to the register and what should have been a $84 bill was over a hundred dollars. I had to ask her to backup the screen so I could see the breakdown of charges, it flashed by so quickly. Then they said "no" to the 15% discount that the nail tech Mindy? told us to ask for!!?? The lady gave us the 15% discount, but tried to justify the inflated charges. We were told, when we walked in the door, $34 for pedi, $50 for the French tips. Now, after seeing other negative reviews, they will shamelessly justify their practices. Heed these 1 ans 2 star reviews, they try to bury them. My friend and I tried Ruby Nail Bar yesterday, and wow! This is our new place! We had such an awesome experience. We had made an appointment, and they sat us right away and immediately got to work on us. I got a Classic Manicure and my friend and I both got the Deluxe Pedi. My nail techs were Anna and Ivy, and both did a fabulous job: very sweet, gentle, happy, thorough, and talented. Everything was very clean, spacious and beautiful, drinks from their huge bar were complimentary, and one of the owners, Vu, came over and visited with us at the end to make sure we had a great experience. He was super friendly and sincere and spent time getting to know us and telling us his story. Although this nail salon is highly recommended, I had the worst experience. My technician was rude, argumentative, and insulted my fingers and nails. The manicure was painful and left my nails feeling sore. I was shocked because I have never been treated so poorly at a nail salon before. Today was my first time in the recently opened Ruby Nail Bar. From the second I walked into this beautiful nail bar with ample pedi stations, I was welcomed by friendly staff! Chi was wonderful and helped me pick out a shade and nail service. I went with the classic pedicure ($29) and the deluxe manicure ($32) and upgraded the mani to gel polish. They currently have a grand opening special for $20 off any service over $75 which was nice. Chi brought over an extensive drink menu and I went with the Thai tea. It was so yummy! Kyle did a great job with my mani and gave me a wonderful hot stone massage after my paraffin treatment. He was very gentle during my manicure (which I was thankful for) and was careful while filing and cutting my cuticles. I liked that he was very detailed with my mani. David did my pedi and did a great job as well. Something to note-I was asked to turn off the massage chair during my mani filing/cuticle trimming. My skin is delicate so I was fine with that. I'd rather be super still for a few minutes to ensure I don't accidentally get cut! :) I walked out with beautiful nails and am looking forward to coming back here next time I am in Allen. read more

They guarantee their work for 2 weeks, so after my gel manicure didn't last more than a few days, Vu asked me to come back so they can redo it.
