As a chunky woman, getting a Brazilian wax isn't high on my list of things to do. I've always lived by the motto "I'll shave it when I can see it." But recently after some weight loss I decided to try out something new. Listen, no one other than my man and my gyno have visited my Netherlands, so choosing someone else to explore that terrain wasn't easy. I used groupon to find some candidates and Katie responded instantly. (Note: Do not purchase groupons. They take half from the provider and almost always the provider will match the price.) Katie was super professional and put me at ease. I pulled my flab in every direction she told me to and it wasn't nearly as bad pain wise as I thought. She was quick and efficient and super nice. While it's never totally comfortable to spread eagle in front of a stranger unless he buys you dinner or something, Katie was awesome and I made a follow up because I'm totally digging paying someone else to do my dirty work:) read more

I came here to leave my review on how I have been using Katie for over a year now, including referring multiple other friends to her - especially the first timers. She has a very particular method that I've never found at any European Wax center nor the places in Frisco. Seriously, why pay more for the same results with less comfort? She also has a convenient little link called style seat were you can schedule the appointment yourself & reschedule as needed. It's very easy because you book it yourself online and secure payment online all in the same step. No misunderstanding and no miscommunication possible. The only thing I have ever found odd is that apparently lots of her customers like to cancel on Saturdays. She regularly reaches out to see if you'd like to come in earlier because, obviously, her time is her money. That's what's a bit confusing about the review below? This is not a need or something you're entitled to, this is a frivolous privilege we are lucky enough to enjoy. If you schedule your own appointments, there shouldn't be any issue. If a cancellation happens & you cannot make it sooner, you simply decline. I think we forget that any self owned business *is* personal. Throwing mud at a corporation who sees you as a number isn't the same as a woman's livelihood depending fully on herself. I have a hard time imagining her "yelling" seeing as how there are 2 masseuses next to her as well as a stylist in front of her. Again, more self employed women who aren't going to accept that behavior which would affect their own clientele! Lol. But what's an angry yelp comment without a little exaggeration, right? When you schedule a 15 minute visit, you really don't have any leeway to be late unless you want half your stuff waxed. So yeah. She's great. Her method & tableside manner are great. Prices are great. If your own time and flexibility is more valuable than hers, being a self-employed business owner, then you definitely should look to one of the larger, more expensive corporations for your grooming needs. As far as racism goes lol. A middle eastern woman married to a Latin immigrant, bringing her black & Italian customers. They would not be returning had they picked up any hint of this. I'm honestly upset with myself that I haven't been to Katie before!! She is hands down the best I've ever had. And she only charges $35 for Brazilians and $25 for new clients. She uses the hard wax, does smaller strips than most (European & Depil), and is really sweet! Katie makes sure you are really comfortable for your first wax and does a quick and clean job. Her office is neat and clean and she even fills you in on what she's doing so that you are less nervous. It's kind of hard to find the place but it's on the backside of charming Charlie up the stairs and right at that door. I had no clue what I walked into-i thought we were going for a his and hers massage only to walk into a sanitized white room with one chair in the center. Let me 1st say that after the initial shock of getting a 1st in my life waxing from the" roota to the tootah"& knowing a complete stranger was going to be gazing @ my yoni.. Katie comforted me and I immediately felt like I was in the right hands. She's very patient, thorough, extremely nice & approachable. I was left with no hair anywhere. She follows up every 4-6 weeks. First found Katie on Groupon because it was close to work and I was determined to get waxed that day. It was my first experience with waxing but Katie was professional yet personable at the same time. I was nervous but turned out I loved the results. I waited too long to go back for a touch up and was told it hurts less the more frequent you come due to the way waxed hair grows back. So I came back 5 weeks later and was shocked that it truly does hurt less when you don't shave and come quicker between visits.
