Looked around on yelp to see if there was any good hair salons that could take me in same day for a balayage. This salon caught my eye because I seen they had done a lot of balayage for the clients. Right away I called and they said they could take me and I was told Stacy was going to do my hair. Walked in and it was a small salon with just 3 girls working. It was slow, which I loved so I had the salon to myself for a little bit. Stacy was very sweet and hands on with what she was doing. Although I did show her a picture of exactly what I wanted, it didn't come out the way I thought it would. I thought that this session would help take the "brassy" color out, but that wasn't the case. I guess you get what you pay for. I don't think it was the right toner because it didn't lighten my hair well enough. I asked if I needed a hair cut, and she said it was a must after I get my hair done, but she trimmed only a little and it didn't make a difference. I felt I needed it cut a little more, but oh well. Normally I don't review any places I visit because I'd rather have people experience themselves, but I can tell you that their are only a few people who'd I let touch my hair. At modern cuts, Natalie does a fantastic job styling my hair. She has a great eye on how to style it and gives great suggestions on improving the look. She has great control with the clippers and gives the perfect fade. The customer service you receive at modern cuts makes customers want to come back because the family vibe it radiates. I brought my daughter in on a random day for a quick cut. They were very nice, friendly, and took us in right away. I was very pleased with the young lady who cut my daughter's hair. We were turned away from about 4 other salon because my daughter had a hair weave and they all stated that it's too much of a liability for them to cut weave / extension. I didn't get that but whatever. I kinda felt like the other places didn't want to cut her hair because we happen to have black girl magic. This place was awesome. A woman named natalie put extensions in my hair and everything was fine and well until I tried messaging her when a few fell out because she told me if they did to call or text her and she would put them back in. After weeks of ignoring my calls and texts I called the salon and they said they could talk to her and I still haven't heard anything so I call back and they said they can have someone else remove them for me but they would charge me even after the woman named Natalie said she would for free now I have over 2 month old extensions that idk what to do with or how to remove because I don't understand why i would have to pay when she is the one who messed up. And is now wasting her coworkers as well as my own time. Very disappointed DO NOT go to this shop. I finally called the shop and she answered and she was EXTREMELY RUDE she told me she isn't obligated to do anything she doesn't want and she doesn't want too even though she said with her own mouth she would for free and now is saying she had to block me because her fiancé was upset I texted her at a late hour and she knew the whole time I was trying to search for help and still didn't message me anything a woman named jasmine was a big help and took time out of her day to help me even though she was not required too. If I could leave negative stars, I would. This is the second time my husband has attempted to have my sons hair cut there and had to bring him back because it was AWFUL. This time however, the cut was so bad that she couldn't even fix what she'd done to him and tot op it all off she was full of attitude. My husband showed her a photo and everything (that was actually of our son and the cut he had and just wanted to maintain) and yet, she screwed it up so badly it can not be fixed and will have to be shaved. These girls have no clue what they are doing. If you luck out and get a good stylist there, I guarantee you she won't be there next time because the decent ones move on.....just like we will. read more

I went to this place to get a haircut and to try To fix up a tone issue. I had done my hair at home with a box dye but it was more brassy than I would Have liked so I asked to have my brassiness toned down along with my haircut. Well, the haircut was good, but somehow, my hair ended up more orange than before. I'm a blonde and in previous salons, my toner was like a purple color but this person chose a beige color.i was suspicious but didn't say anything because I figured my stylist was the expert. She apparently had no grasp on color because my hair ended up way more orange than before. Mistakes happen and I'm cool with that, but rather than try to fix this, my stylist named random suspicions for why my hair would react to this toner in this way and she never apologized for doing exactly the opposite of what I wanted with my hair. I bluntly told her that my hair was actually more orange than before but she still charged me for the toner (which only made my hair worse than before.) personally, if I totally screwed up someone's hair I would apologize and not charge them for my poor and counter-productive work but this person dismissed me, charged me for her poor toner choices, and left me hanging. Well, sorry lady- if you screw someone over, people will find out. If you expect someone who is competent in color, do not come here. read more

I loved this place! I went early in the morning and got immediately helped by Heather. She was wonderful, not to mention the awesome haircut she gave me! She took the time to communicate with me and really made me feel welcome. It was also my very first time into this place. I hadn't been to a hairstylist in so long and she fixed my hair right up! I went to Modern Cuts for the first time. I had Jazmin as hair stylist, she was very nice and sweet, and did great job on cut and color. She spent time listening what I wanted for my hair and communicated with me by showing photos before cut and color. I called on nov 4 and made an appointment for a nov 5 afternoon slot. When I arrived on time for my appointment, I walked in and was greeted somewhat rudely by a woman named Jeanette who simply said "I'm not taking any more hair cuts today." When I informed her that I had an appointment, she showed no concern for this, and simply gave a half hearted "sorry there's nothing I can do. It's not my fault I didn't take that call." As a customer this is an exceedingly annoying response, as a functional business should work as a team and provide the bests service possible. It was bad enough that I was not helped even though I had an appointment, but Jeanette made the experience much worse by showing no remorse for the situation, acted annoyed, and made no effort to remedy the situation. read more
