Menu pastas and calzones

We've been here a couple times and it doesn't disappoint. The pastas are delicious, hot and made to order. You will wait a little bit but it's worth it. No alcohol so if you want to sip with your meal get it to go. The dining room is pretty tiny but the smells while you wait are yummy!

BBQ Chicken Pizza

Wow wow wow!! Let me start by saying I was amazed at this place. I had it saved on my list to come to and I was feeling Italian today. We ordered the side Caesar salad and cheese bread for appetizers. The croutons were crunchy and tasty and the cheese bread was delectable. The balance of crunch and softness in the bread was incredible! Then the BBQ chicken pizza, penne chicken pasta and the chipotle chicken pasta. The pastas were served with garlic bread that was fresh and full of flavor. The service was very fast and in good timing. I swear before I could even think about the next dish it was in front of me. The staff is friendly and takes time to make sure each dish is curated with flaaaavorrr! The ambience of the inside is chill and relatively small but I don't think that matters in comparison to the quality of food and service. I definitely recommend coming with another person to grab a few different items. Next time I'll be coming for the sandwiches and try more new items!

12" Stuffed Crust Cheese Pizza

I have lived in Seattle for over five years now, and my boyfriend is an avid pizza enthusiast. I can say, hands down, this is the best pizza we have had in Seattle. We DoorDashed a stuffed crust 12" cheese pizza (about $25 with inflated delivery prices), and everything about it was perfection. The fluffy, soft crust had just the right amount of chew; the cheesy filling was milky and delicious; the pizza sauce was perfectly zesty-sweet; and the cheese blend on top was umami and just the right thickness. We devoured that pizza so quickly. It's our new go-to place for orders!

Outstanding service and incredibly delicious food! The staff were warm and welcoming, and every dish was bursting with flavor. I highly recommend this place--everyone should give it a try. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

LASAGNA PRIMAVERA BEEF

My friend and I were in the mood for pasta and found this place through the app. Decided to try it out because it had carbonara which we were craving. When we got there, we were a bit surprised. Definitely didn't seem like a dine-in type of spot. Felt more like a pizza take out spot. Walked in awkwardly trying to figure out if we order up front for dine-in or ask for a table. Lady at the counter cleared it up for us told us to grab a table. The place was very small with about 3 or 4 tables. There was another table, but they were just waiting for their take out order. The same lady handed us the menus and gave us a wonder bottle of Kangen Alkaline Water. I was honestly surprised and impressed we weren't being given just tap water. Had me really looking forward to the menu. We ended up ordering the Spanakopita as our appetizer and Carbonara and Lasagna to share together. This was the first time I've ever had Spanakopita and I enjoyed it a lot. I like the flaky-ness of it and how light it felt. The lasagna also was very good. carbonara pasta was unfortunately disappointing though. Definitely felt like they used cream for it. It wasn't a legit carbonara pasta sadly. Ended up making it at home days later to satisfy our craving for a properly made carbonara pasta. Next time, I'll have to try their pizza and I'll definitely come back to order the spanakopita. That was good!

I'm conflicted between 3 and 4 stars because I'd divide it into pizza and pasta. To start - the pasta wasn't that good. However, the pizza was delicious! I was craving Italian because one of my roommates was heating up some pizza bites and so I stumbled upon Modena on Grubhub. Food was prepared quick and still steaming hot when I received it. Credits to both Modena and the driver for that. I was looking forward to tasting some chicken parm but the one here wasn't quite satisfying. The chicken was made well and perfect when coupled with cheese, but the rest of the dish was mediocre. Honestly it was simple noodles doused with marinara topped with a piece of chicken that received all the love. Would have rather made my own pasta and added chicken. That being said, most if not all pasta dishes are accompanied with garlic bread and another side. Those sides include more bread, salad, or soup. Personally, I chose the soup of the day to be surprised and it was chicken noodle soup. I almost chose extra bread, but I'm glad I didn't. The garlic bread was fluffy but rather bland. Chicken noodle soup was super hot but creamy and delicious. On the other hand, pizza was fluffy and simply looked appealing which added to the overall taste. It was not overly saucy and allowed the toppings to shine. I opted for the Meat 10" with pepperoni, ham, sausage, and salami. I was able to appreciate each meat's flavor due to the minimal sauce versus a fast food joint where they may be a bit underwhelming.

Modena Calzone

a very nice cozy spot, music wasn't too loud. I'm autistic and tend to get irritated by open kitchens because they usually make loud noises but this felt more laid back, not many loud noises. The staff was super sweet and considerate, the food was fast! And absolutely gorgeous. It tasted amazing the crust was cooked very crispy with a fresh, soft inside. It was nice and hot when we got it and looked exactly like the pictures!! I'm not from Seattle but if I lived here I would definitely be a regular here.

Large Combo on cheesy crust with half pesto & half marinara sauce. Delish!!!

Sun-dried tomato & olive tampanade with focaccia. SO GOOD. 5 stars. Vegan pizza (mini on the HH menu) with chickpeas, white bean hummus, Kalamata olives, and balsamic reduction. VERY good. Tucked down the alley by the gum wall, it's a great option for wood fired pizzas. The space is fairly small and very low-lit, but thriving with energy. Our service was fantastic, drinks were good, but besides the pizza the food was pretty hit or miss. We had a table of 4 and we kept the table full the entire time. We started off with a salad, spicy mac n cheese, cheese sticks, and Brie and cheese. Salad was light and refreshing. The cheese sticks were pretty normal, but also good. The spicy mac n cheese to me had zero spice. Just some mac in a cast iron pan. The apple and Brie had a nice presentation but the smallest amount of Brie possible(my picture was too blurry to post). The Broccolini I am not sure how it was defined as broccolini because the 5 pieces that came on the plate were huge. While packed with flavors of lemon and Parmesan they had a very tree like feel and were a bit on the harder side. The El Diablo pizza, to be straight forward was by far the best part of the stop. The crust could have been a little more well done, but that's just me splitting hairs. I ate more of that than anyone else. Probably could have finished it myself if I hadn't stopped for a lobster roll beforehand. Either way, great service, good drinks and legit pizzas!

Karin has taken care of us countless times, whether it's a quiet Monday or an absolutely packed one due to the events at the town hall across the street, and they have always been warm, patient, and accommodating. I actually celebrated my birthday here because it's one of my favorite spots. I am part of the large group that one of the recent negative reviews is referring to. It happened immediately after the USA FIFA match, and the restaurant was the busiest I've ever seen it. Despite that, Karin still went out of their way to accommodate our requests that normally wouldn't be possible due to the rush, including trying to help with separate tabs when they'd already explained that large groups would likely need to stay on one check. As for things like grabbing water, silverware, plates, or chili flakes...our table had already gotten those before a majority of the group arrived. It's a casual pizzeria, on one of their busiest days ever. Setting and cleaning up the table (especially when seated outside) is not a problem for our group as we do it every week. Which is why it's upsetting that we opened our spot to someone that left such a nasty review. What stood out to me wasn't poor service. It's that despite how overwhelming it must have been to work post-FIFA, Karin was able to take orders, bartend, serve food, and close out checks with professionalism. Sometimes no matter how much effort someone puts in, not everyone leaves happy. The pizza is fantastic! I love showing up every week and trying what new slice they have come up with (in the year that I've been coming here there legit hasn't been a repeat). The atmosphere is great and the staff, especially Karin, have earned our loyalty over the past year. We'll absolutely continue coming back.

If that line is intimidating or wet (think rain!) then duck inside to Pizza and Pasta Bar for a delicious meal. While there we met the owners Bruno and Goli who were helping out behind the counter. They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). In a medium nonstick pan, large tong full of wet noodles, one ladle of white sauce, toss them together. Boiled chicken pieces, BOILED chicken tossed into the pan. No seasoning or shredded cheese, or Italian seasoning. Served in a plastic to go container that cost 1.85 extra bc it was to go since they wouldn't allow us to sit w outside food. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

A lot of places are closed already but this reliable pizza place was open. SWEET!! I walked in and lady working the counter was super nice and helpful. I got a slice of Italian supreme, which has everything. Now looking back though I wish I had gotten one of their Turkish dishes as I would have liked to try their lahmacun and read another Yelpers review and this place is supposed to have the best Turkish lahmacun in the US. Oh well, I guess I will be back! The woman heated up my slice and after a few minutes, it was ready. I took my slice and went to sit outside near Pioneer Square so I could be outside and people watch. Pizza was tasty and solid, but the crust was too dry. I have a feeling the slice wasnt the most fresh, so thats why the crust was a bit dry. But, if you know me, I do jot like soggy pizza (I mean - who does??), so a bit drier isn't too big an issue. The rest of the slice was good. Slice of pizza and a diet coke came to close to $9. Gosh things are so expensive now. They do have a special of 2 slices for $8.99 but I couldnt eat two slices. Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
