I stopped here during lunchtime to get some pizza. Located in a strip mall, this has a shared parking lot. As I arrived, the staff welcomed, and we ordered a cheesy garlic bread and a Maddy pizza. Both were made within less than fifteen minutes. The interior is well maintained, and I can see that at least six tables were filled. The staff did check if everything was okay and wanted any additional assistance. The Maddy pizza was baked really well. I like the thin crust style. The ingredients did taste fresh. The cheesy garlic was perfect and definitely tasted good. This is a typical mod pizza vibe. But the staff is friendly at this location. read more

I had high hopes for MOD Pizza. I figured it would be a worthy competitor to Blaze Pizza which I have always enjoyed. I was totally wrong. While the concept is nearly identical to Blaze Pizza the quality is totally lacking. It's like a complete opposite of the amazing quality offered at Blaze Pizza. The ingredients all seem to be low quality canned and/or frozen. They also don't offer Kalamata olives either so forget about a Greek salad or Greek style pizza. This place is absolutely filthy. The entire restaurant is complete filth - the tables, the floors, the trash is over flowing, the bathrooms are sickening. What did it for me was when an employee grabbed a napkin next to the soda fountain machine, blew her nose with her plastic gloves on, and then never changed her gloves or washed her hands and then started handling food. Their service has been good 90% of the time and the workers that have served me have made good impressions and were willing to converse. The inside is nice, not a low tier vibe. We placed an order online, arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes after the order was placed. We observed the employees talking among themselves the whole time not focusing on the job. After a while we asked about our order which was nowhere to be found. Somehow it was misplaced so we had to wait another 15 minutes. When I asked again the reply was condescending indicating that the delay was due to DoorDash (the order was placed with them directly). I enjoyed my visit to Mod Pizza on 8/21/19 at around 12:30. My daughter had been there and was having a pizza craving. You order at the counter, you can make your own or choose a "classic", or even embellish a classic. I ordered the Dillon James- similar to a margarita pizza. I added roasted petals of garlic and arugula. I added the fog drizzle. I liked the price point of less than 8$. I enjoyed the pizza and the help is friendly. There was a bit of a wait at that peak lunch time. One thing I really liked was the seating, there was plenty of room for everyone. That's not common in a lot of restaurants in the dreaded Gateway Shopping Center during the week at peak lunch hour. I liked the experience and the pizza was delicious at a good price point too. You can get unlimited toppings included in the price- no "upgrade" game. I'm not sure I'll return. I love this place. It's a chipolte but for pizza. I'd go normally during the week before the pandemic, but you can order just as easily for pick up from their easy to use site. I would recommend the 11" thin crust and then you can go crazy with whatever you want. First you choose a sauce, red is the standard pizza sauce. Then you add chese, i go with the standard mozerella and then a bit of ricotta. For proteins, i usually enjoy sausage and beef. From there you add toppings, i prefer pickled jalapenos, green pepper, olives, and some other stuff i can't think of off the top of my head. Last you throw on some glaze. I like the Fig Balsamic Vinegerette, it adds a bit of sweetness to go with the savory. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy the contrasts. read more

Completely enjoyed having lunch here with my sisters a few weeks ago, especially since I could order a gluten free pizza with as many toppings as I wanted at an excellent price. The service was good. Came here for a late lunch on the weekend. Plenty of seating. It's in a shopping center so there's a lot of parking. The pizzas are thin crust with the option to double it if you like your crust thicker. I chose the regular mod 11 inch. You can order their preset classic pizzas or build your own. They have over 30 toppings and it's unlimited for one price! This was bad for me because I was of course greedy and got almost everything! It still ended up pretty good. It was a bit soggy after a while but still tasty! My husbands pizza was a white pizza and that was pretty good because the crust stayed crispy throughout. Price is very reasonable- about $8 for the 11inch. They also have salads made to order with the same unlimited option too. Self seating. Staff is friendly. read more

This was leaning towards more of a 4.5 star review, but after seeing the dearth of good pizza in the area I decided to round up instead of down. MOD pizza is very similar to other build your own style pizza places where you go down an assembly line and add as many toppings as you'd like for one price (7.87 in this case). After eating at Midici the day before and being a bit disappointed, this was an excellent follow up. I'd compare it favorably with Blaze Pizza although the crust was a bit fluffier and less crispy (that's either a good thing or bad thing, depending on your tastes). Aside from the lack of fresh mozzarella, everything else was very similar and the pizza was fantastic and came out quick. A couple of quirks: I was a bit disappointed with the lack of recycling, but what are you gonna do? It seems like most places in PA don't recycle. I don't know why but I wasn't used to seeing the ham look like it came from a deli packet and that had to be broken into smaller pieces. It tasted fine, but was not as aesthetically pleasing. This is the Chipotle of pizza. Nothing more, nothing less. After hearing hype from a few work friends, I had to give it a shot. In basic terms, here's what I experienced. The assembly line moves well. It's a very Chipotle-like style of food assembly. You'll find that out when you come here. The crust is pre-made, and almost too perfect. It's also quite flat, like flatbread. I understand that it has to be that way for the service model to work. But it reminds you that deep down this is not a mom and pop place. It's maybe the one drawback. Flavor-wise though, it's on point. I tried the Dominic which is basically a white pizza with tomato and sausage. The good part about the flat crust is that it comes out crisp, and it's not too heavy if that's what you're in the mood for. It's a perfect portion. The ingredients came together very well. I polished mine off in record time so that means on some level I loved it. I wouldn't choose this place over my favorite local places, much like I wouldn't choose Chipotle over a South Philly taqueria. But I would come here with work friends for lunch again. read more

Right off the bat, it had a fun atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff, and ample seating. I got the MOD size and loaded it with a variety of the fresh, unique toppings (including artichoke, arugula, and roasted Brussels sprouts). The number of options is overwhelming, so I recommend having some idea of what you're in the mood for before you order. The quality and taste of the ingredients were excellent. The temperature was perfect and my crust was just right. I didn't leave a crumb but felt satisfied, not too full. I also got the blackberry lemonade, which was delicious. By the soda fountain, there was a puddle of something sticky so the employee kindly put a caution sign instead of mopping it up. Spilling Gatorade from the soda fountain, dumping tons of ice in the grate. So my husband asked for a towel to clean the table and rather than cleaning the table themselves, they handed him the rag. Think Subway but pizzas instead of subs! Their sign says "fast" and it is, once you get to the counter to actually place your order. On my first visit here for lunch (weekday), we were in line for close to 25 minutes before reaching the order taker. I'm sure some of this is just a lot of people wanting to check out a new eatery in the area--we had a good 20+ people in line in front of us when we arrived. You can pick from one of their pizzas off the menu or create your own (I went with the Tyler pizza). You start by telling the order taker what size pizza you want (mini, mod, or mega) and then as you walk along the counter, you pick out your sauces and fresh toppings to add on top and then they quickly bake it the oven and my pizza was ready as I was still filling my cup with one of their delicious flavored lemonades. I liked the fact that everything is one price, no matter how many toppings you choose to add to your pizza. There are no extra charges for "premium" toppings! The crust is thin and surprisingly not burnt. I've been to similar places where a good portion of the crust was a bit burnt. We also got the garlic sticks (basically the pizza crust cut into thin strips loaded up with garlic. You also got to pick from a couple of dipping sauces. The sticks were good and not overpowering on the garlic. For dessert, we went with the cinnamon sticks and while good, we probably should have ordered those after our meal as it was a bit cold and hardened up a bit by the time we got around to eating it. Also props for posting most of their nutritional info on the menu itself, except it is based on the Mod size pizza and not easily obtainable for the other sizes or any of their specialty pizzas, which my Tyler pizza was one of them. Definitely a place I will go back to. They also have shakes, floats, and salads. I actually ate my coworkers side caesar salad for dinner and it was just OK. I would likely just stick with the pizzas but would like to try their shakes next time. Might have to come a little early for lunch next time to avoid the potentially long line. read more

Welp... unhappy customer here. My children were very excited to come here, as we have only ever had good experiences, but that all changed today. Both my children ordered pizzas of the menu and I ordered a build your own. Their pizzas both were missing crucial elements which made them very unhappy. We also watched an employee put barbecue sauce on someone's pizza when they were not even there! I have a love/hate relationship with MOD Pizza; the pizza is tasty BUT I always have to have them 'fix' the order. I typically like to order one of their recommended concoctions...especially ones involving pesto, buffalo, arugula, and/or blue cheese. These are some of my favorite ingredients to put on a non-traditional pizza. I have tried at least 4 different recommended pizzas MOD has established on their menu, and EVERY TIME I have to bring it back when I realized they forgot an ingredient. I would think since they pretty much make the same 10 pizza combos they would have it down by now, but it is always something. Maybe they have a lot of staff turn around so that is why it never seems everyone is on board on how to make the pizza they recommend, but luckily they have never been rude to me when I bring it back and ask them to fix the mistake. I would suggest having them make your own combination since you walk them through which ingredients to put on the pizza. Overall the pizza always tastes excellent and the staff are pleasant. It can be a long wait but somehow I have always dodged the rush. The regular size is good for 2 people to share without leftovers. I would not go for the chocolate milkshake - they basically take a vanilla and poor some chocolate syrup in it and you have to mix half of it yourself. I have had a least 1 salad combination and it was very good. There is plenty of parking since this location is at a big shopping center, and there are plenty of seats inside. I've always wanted to try Mod Pizza but just never got around to it... until today! I am very impressed with the quality and flavor of the pizza that I got. I will definitely be returning. I ordered my pizza online and created my own concoction. I went with white sauce, asiago, mozzarella & parmesan cheese, bacon, roasted garlic, red onion, artichoke and pesto drizzle. The pizza crust is perfectly thin and "well done" on some areas which is the way I like it. The cheese was nice and stringy when I pulled a slice away from it's friends. All-in-all this was a great value for what I paid for it. I was super impressed with the service I received. I got to the store early to pick up my pizza just because it didn't take me long to get there. I went up to the pickup counter and let them know my name and that I was there to pickup an online order. The girl slicing and boxing the pizzas shouted back to put a rush on my order which was very nice of her. When my pizza was boxed and ready she even apologized for the wait but I was the one that was early, the pizza was right on time. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. Kevin greeted us from the get go and made the MOD experience the best we ever had. From the start he showed his passion for the restaurant and wanted to be there. When making our pizzas Kevin explained everything from sizes, different toppings and sauces. He was very knowledgeable and made sure to get our orders right. For example, when I said "I want some pepperoni" and "I want some mushrooms" he made sure to emphasize it back to me and gave me the exact amount asked, not too few and not too much overloading the pizza. I really liked that about this MOD location. After, the ordered pizzas came out quick and tasted great. Pizzas were not burned or undercooked like I have experienced at other locations in different states across the country. Moreover, Kevin was friendly, got to know us, gave us some knowledgeable information about the city and overall was pleasant to talk to.
