I guess It's so hard to find people with customer skills who work in the customer service industry. First thing is I "love MODs pizza", but because the team here at Vallejo, I won't be back. After my grandsons swim lessons we decided to get a couple of pies. We wait for the person helping the two guys in front of us while we watched another guy making some online orders and a girl squeezing out some dough, while another has a cart with the sauces that she is looking at and moving them around, and of course the one cooking the pizza's. A nice full staff it looks like. So we continued to wait 7-10 minutes for him to finish making them and then ring them up. The guy then gets gloved up and say's "I'll have to wait because he needs to build some on-line orders". ADIOS Vallejo! I'll enjoy my MODs in Napa where they treat the customer like they should. read more

May 21, 2020: Props to Santa Rosa staff for coming through at the Vallejo location! The manager explained that they came from Santa Rosa since the staff was low in Vallejo today. But other managers came through when Santa Rosa needed it during the fires and it's all about comraderie. He even gave a free pizza voucher for the wait. Overall this location is hit in miss. Sometimes the quality of the food and customer service is on point and other times it's not so great. I'm not sure if this location has had staffing or management changes over the last year, but service (specifically pertaining to online pick ups and organization has gone down hill). Every time I've ordered online for pick up I've had an issue with my order. My order is never ready at the scheduled time and I end up waiting as though I walked in and ordered. During my last online pick up my order was due to be ready for pick up at 6:17 P.M. given my past experiences I went in after the scheduled time thinking it would give them time to have it ready by the time I arrived. Once I arrived (after someone finally greeted me and asked if I was picking up an order) I was told my order was mixed up with someone else's and given away.. I ended up having to wait as if I walked in and ordered my pizza regularly. I didn't get my pizza until 7:07 P.M. While the pizza is good I probably will skip online orders at this location because they do not seem to have the staff or organizational skills to fulfill online orders. read more

It's good for fast friendly quick pizza. Not fancy pizza, basic and simple. Especially with kids or a big party, basically everyone can do a make your own pizza. The pizzas are very small and thin and you can add as many toppings as you want. They have a large selection of toppings and sauces too. Super casual restaurant and it's very clean. This was my first time at Mod Pizza and I was looking forward to a pesto pizza (since I cannot tolerate tomato sauce due to acid reflux). Sounds simple enough....I opted for the salad pizza simply because there were no simple bread sides except cheesy garlic bread of some variety. Ordered 2 pizzas TOGO for me and my bf, my bf's pizza got done but they told him mine had to be remade because the "cheese got burnt" which didn't make any sense? Cheese is on the bottom of toppings, how did that possibly get burnt. So I'm waiting another 20 minutes but I wonder why they never confirmed what toppings I had on mine so I assumed they remember since it wasn't too busy at that time. The lady hands me my pizza (brown hair wearing a black bandana) and apologizes, I look at my pizza and it's missing 3-4 toppings. And you can tell they half assed it especially since there were only about 5 mushrooms on one side and the crust was very uneven. I hate to be the one to complain but i paid for this and I had to say something, I just asked if they can add the missing toppings to the top to save me some time, I was almost there for an hour. I've been here a couple times and the line is pretty long and it takes awhile to get up there so make time for that if you really want pizza. It's great that you can put any and all toppings on your pizza so you can customize it and it doesn't cost extra. The only thing I would say that was very misleading was the new Cauliflower crust (extra $2) that only comes in a MOD size (medium). I was drawn to it because I am on a diet so I thought it's better than the dough crust but I was HIGHLY mislead! The cauliflower crust is NOT pure cauliflower and contains 87g of carbs while the dough crust is 88g of carbs. Both have the same amount of fiber. Don't waste your money if you're dieting on the cauliflower crust- just stick w the mini size. Overall- bomb pizzas and the cauliflower crust does taste gooood- but yeah, not good for low carb/Keto diets. read more

I've given this location several chances and each time has been terrible. I've been to other locations, and have had much better experiences, so my sense is something is definitely off with the Vallejo store. The two times we've ordered in person the line is to the door. One time it took almost an hour to get our food - CRAZY. Behind the counter always seems dirty. The oven is also pretty shocking - heaps of burnt dough and toppings all over the floor. Take a minute to clean your area! This most recent time I tried delivery - ordered a small cheese pizza and garlic bread. Both arrived cold. All I could taste was burnt dough; the underside of the pizza was black and I picked off a bunch of large, blackened chunks of dough. The garlic bread looked like a mangled mess and was cut up like the person had no experience with a pizza cutter. It was also burnt, tasteless, totally inedible. Finally, a pizza joint where you can customize to your taste without added charge for extra toppings in this area. This would be the first time that I'll be trying them. I have tried other places like these so the expectations are little high. My boyfriend and I came around 8:45 on a Sunday night and there was only one group before us. There were a total of three employees at the time. The employees were nice but the pace was just really slow. I kind of blame myself for skipping lunch however. Anyways, the pizza turned out great. We had one side with canadian bacon, pepperoni, pineapples and the other with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, jalapeños, onions, topped with bbq sauce. The girl had to measure how much lettuce she could give me. She was told not to give any extra. she put the cups of salad dressing into the bowl to take up more space. I saw a smaller selection of toppings. No meat? I asked for a few mushroom, she piled them on. They were not sliced thin, they were thick! Not for salads. Found lots of Romain stems - filler. How can I justify spending almost $9 on an individual pizza? You just can't, especially at this place. Ordered the Dillon James pizza and it was subpar. I ordered it mainly for the fresh basil and there was maybe 2 leaves at best on it. The size of the pizza is good for a personalized size pizza, but it's so overpriced. I'm not quite sure who the manger/hiring manager is but they may want to consider a fresh set of staff. All the employees looked like they could care less and moved slower than molasses. I understand the wait of the cooking time of the pizza because you just can't rush that, but the wait time it takes to be greeted when you walk in and into the line is far too long. I almost felt like I had to be the one to say hello and address them. Super disappointed that such a prime location in Vallejo was wasted on such a facility. This is always a spot where I stop to charge the car on the way back from the Bay Area. The staff is pretty friendly and well the pizza is fit and miss. Walking in the place is always clean. There usually a line and sometimes it can take a few minutes to get your order taken. But that can be because of customers be overwhelmed by all the ingredients or that there is only 1 person making pizzas. I love the idea of building a pizza to what I want on a super thin crust with as many items as I want and it cost the same. I like to get pepperoni,sausage and bacon with their sweet peppers. From the maker to the cook at the oven. They could train the cooks a bit better because I have had two pizzas that were done awesome out of the 5-6 times I've been there. The cook with the dreads!!! You can choose between a Mini 6-inch, a MOD 11-inch, or a Mega Dough 11-inch thick crust. You're the captain of your own personal pizza planet but if that's too much pressure, it's all good because they also have a Classics Menu where they decide for you! Moving on, let's start with the food: + Caspian (mozzarella, gorgonzola, bbq chicken, barbecue sauce, sliced red onions) -- Barbecue sauce on almost anything is delicious so there was no way this one wasn't going to be good. - Phoenix (white sauce, arugula, italian sausage, asiago, roasted mushrooms, roasted red peppers and rosemary, balsamic fig glaze) -- The white sauce on this tasted like watered down alfredo sauce which took away flavor points from the entire pizza. + Caramelized Pear Iced Tea (caramelized pear, ice, tea) -- Never had this before in my life but it was really good. New build your pizza place in Vallejo, which is good for the city. Right across the way from the movie theater with a whole lot of parking. Reminds me of Pieoligy just because of the concept of choose your sauce, cheese and toppings. The difference here is that they do have different sizes to choose from. Was pretty busy on a Friday night and they seem to not have as many topping to choose from. My pizza didn't come out as crisp as I wanted, but then maybe I should of asked them to keep it in the fire oven a bit longer. Flavor was good tho. The atmosphere inside was pretty chill. Music playing, people laughing kids enjoying their own personal pizza. Nice place to take your family to a quick bite and no one has to settle for a plain pepperoni. Sunday Night: Food: Garlic strips were burnt with no dipping sauce. Yes, it came like that. Pizza is just not the same. The crust is soft and not crispy. Service: Very busy and line to the door. Much of the staff (3-4 people) kept disappearing and re-appearing for a few min and vanishing again including the cashier who disappeared for a good 5-8 minutes. I sat down and observed the employees come and go. They completely ran out of lids. The oven cook was solo cooking and cleaning as fast as he could with no one was helping him. He didn't look very happy and I don't blame him. I don't know where everyone disappeared to but it seems fully staffed but just not a lot who were actually working.
