I really did like this place, but today's experience will lead me to go somewhere else. They ask you what you want and do the opposite and then make excuses on why she couldn't put the toppings on the way I wanted it. I asked for extra sauce and pepperoni. They called my name and I grabbed food and left. Of course they gave me somebody else's pizza. When I went back and for another one because they let a stranger leave the restaurant with my pizza. What can I say about MOD Pizza? I really like this place. I have been there many times and just realized I have not Yelp reviewed this fine establishment. Every time I have been here, my order has been excellent. I try to vary my order and try something new and each time it has been a work of edible art. When I want a pizza and do not want a heavy doughy crust, MOD is the place to go. Their crust is thin and cooked well and the toppings come out perfect. The eating area is clean and for the most part the employees are friendly. The only glitch to the system is I wish they would slice the pizza in six slices. They used to do that early on when I went there but now cut it to 4. I had requested a six slice cut but somehow it fell on deaf ears. I guess it depends who is at the end and you have to be present when your pizza comes out before they use the pizza cutter. I've tried their competitors Bl@ze(once,never again) and p1eology(once) and they do not compare to MOD. MOD is THE PLACE to GO without hesitation. read more

Salad and Pizza are good. Not the most amazing but def. what we were looking for on a busy day when we just wanted to grab a quick lunch in between running errands. However, the service was very unpleasant. The woman working the line has one of the WORST attitudes and looks as if she hates her life. While ordering a pizza and salad she misunderstood and thought we asked for two pizzas. When we corrected her she seemed as though she was offended and spat out of her mouth that "one pizza would only fill up one person". Sounds like a pathetic insult to me. No one asked how many people the pizza would feed. In fact, we've been here before so we know what we like to order. We were even asked had we been to the facility before and politely answered yes. May never return thanks to the rude woman working and her coworker whom didn't speak to us at all. Get your customer service skills up! read more

I love taking my siblings here to create their own pizzas. It's so fun watching them decide what they Or do not want on it - and eliminates me from having to choose one type of pizza everyone will want! The seating inside needs a little more attention; and customer service could be improved, but the pizza is pretty awesome. After ordering the food usually takes about 10-15 mins for us. Ordered 4 MODs, only one of which was custom, and they were all just okay. My biggest gripe would be the discrepancy between the photos of their pizzas and their actual pizzas; they pretty much appear to have a skimp on toppings policy at this location. Best thing about this place, everyone can have their own custom pie for less than 8 bucks; that's pretty cool. Order online; the line can be loooooong. The pizzaologist who designed my pizza was very sloppy. All of the toppings where either in the middle of the pizza or only on one part. The crust was soggy and too crispy at the same time! Sauce was uninspiring and the service was disorganized. Will not go back. read more

Like others have said, I love the concept and I look forward to going back and seeing improvement over time. They've only been a open about 6 weeks and it takes time to get the kinks out. I ordered online and was given a one hour wait time. I arrived about 5 min early to pick up my pizza and was told it would be out "in just a sec" I waited at a dirty table (most were dirty). After about 12 min of waiting I asked about my pizza. Turns out it had been done for who-knows-how-long and was sitting above the pizza oven. Oops! Luckily it was still warm. I ordered the Dominic. The sauce and toppings were good, but the crust was sooooo tough. It was really hard to bite through and chew. It also had an odd taste. The slices were also very uneven which can be troublesome when you have kids sharing a cheese pizza. A little more attention to detail and keeping the dining room clean would be nice. Mod's pizza is one of my regular eat out spots. My husband I eat there almost weekly! It's a build-your-own pizza or salad spot. They have a few different sizes and unlimited toppings. When they first opened, I thought it was a huge downgrade compared to similar types of pizzerias that follow the same chipotle concept. I've visited two locations, San Jose and Pinole. If you like Pieology then you'll like MOD, friendly with good service. So I came to MOD pizza tonight with my family expecting great customer service,but instead I got long faces with i dont care attitudes. Everyone looked like they didn't want to work or be here. I love this place and will keep coming,but the customer service tonight was awful and needs to be addressed. The was a young lady with half green conrows and a slighty chubbier young man who had especially poor service. They did not greet us at the door and looked at us like they were mad we cane in. This location just opened up within the past month, and I decided to pop in and check it out. I'm not a big fan of the "make your food in front of you" gimmick. A lot of people are acting like it's some amazing concept when it's no different from them making the pizza in the back. But that's just a personal preference. I've been craving some pizza lately but RT is too expensive. I saw this place on Yelp and read good reviews, so I decided to try it out. I created my own pizza. I had a MOD pizza with red sauce, mozzarella, spinach, salami, pepperoni, mild sausage, anchovies, mushroom, black olives, green pepper, red onions, and topped it off with some gorgonzola cheese. After it was baked, I had pesto drizzled on top. I also had a mini salad along with it. The pizza was delicious and so was the salad. All this for under $14 dollars. We have heard so much about this place from friends and fellow Yelpers, so we decided to give it a try one night we didn't feel like cooking. As one of our friends stated, it is similar to Chipotle but for pizza. Personally, I like it much better!!! They have a set menu but you can either create your own from their toppings (and they have a lot!) or pick one of theirs or pick one of theirs and add some of your own. The crust is thin and they have a mini or a regular size. The regular was about four large slices and I devoured it but most would probably eat around three with one to spare. My daughter had basically a cheese pizza but in mini size. I had a Jasper (red sauce, mushrooms, mozzarella, spicy sausage) and added pepperoni, basil, garlic, roasted garlic and dabs of sauce added. It was fantastic. I love that you can build to your taste. You only have yourself to blame if you don't like the flavor combos Prices were very reasonable as well and I think we spent less than if we got a big pie from a larger chain. I like that this place gives you unlimited options (they have a menu or you can create your own with as many toppings as you want) for the same price ($10). They also have gluten-free for an additional charge. The regular crust is a lot better as the gluten free one starts to fall apart a little bit. I've had better pizzas elsewhere, but this is definitely a nice alternative to have outside of the big chains in the area. Definitely my go to for when I want pizza at a decent price with options to choose from. They also allow for you to call in ahead to let them know a specific time you want the order as well. read more
