My daughter loves to make her own pizza, so that's how we end up here more than I'd like. The food is fresh and the toppings are plentiful. The dough is made by hand and thin for a crispy pizza when cooked completely. The tomato sauce they use has a metallic taste (to me), as well as their olives. For a quick pizza craving, go to MOD (Made On Demand)! Location is in the Pinole Valley plaza and is in its own lane amidst the variety of food options there - burgers, pho, sushi. Pizzas and salads are customizable with fresh toppings - as much as you want. Place is spacious, clean, and the staff was awesome, shout-out to the guy who helped me work out my Apple Pay! I ordered a mini Caesar, the MOD sized Tristan, which had mozzarella, Asiago, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, and a pesto drizzle. I added pepperoni, sausage. FYI- you can add anything to your salad and pizza for the same price. I saw them pop the pizza in the 800 degrees F gas-fired oven and it came out really fast (3 min!) and it was really tasty, especially with all the yummy toppings- I also got a side of ranch for dipping. Not the best crust in the world, but I like the customization possibilities. They also have plant-based and gluten-free crust and toppings. I've ordered both pickup and takeout from this place. Generally speaking it's been good. I've ordered maybe 10 pizzas (give or take), but I'd say maybe 3 of them were burned around the crust. Kind of a bummer about that, but otherwise they are good pizzas. If you are looking for a pizza with a LOT of toppings for a decent price, this is where you want to go as they don't charge for extra toppings. My go to has been Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Bacon, Black Olives, Bell Peppers (sometimes Pineapple added in). For the cheeses I usually go with Mozz and Parm but their Asiago is good as well. read more

This is a review of ordering under the name "MOD fresh" from Doordash. Apparently it's for people who only want the salad part of the menu so we can pretend we're eating healthy! A couple of small mistakes got made on our order: one of the salads didn't have dressing, and one got spinach as a base instead of the requested romaine. However, we liked all three of the salads we ordered. I tried the "Kinda Cobb" and found it didn't keep great past the first day because of the added pesto, and it was a little lower on protein than the ones where we chose our own toppings, but I enjoyed the supplied combination of ranch dressing with red vinegar and the blue cheese was fun. My spouse got an "unlimited toppings" spinach salad with chicken, bacon, cheddar, cucumber and diced tomato (the diced tomato is cut enjoyably small) and balsamic vinaigrette and he was enthusiastic and would definitely order it again. I got an "unlimited toppings" salad with pizza-like toppings of Italian sausage and salami along with chicken. I found that when I added those three meats along with cheeses, the salad ended up being protein-heavy enough for a hungry day, but still cheaper than a lot of "build your own salad" places. All the veggies were tasty, though the mixed greens were maybe not quite as fresh as from some other places like Mendocino Farms. All in all a solid budget option for salad! read more

"Simple menu. Endless options." That's their slogan and I got a CRUST on it. Similar to Blaze and Pielogy, this create-your-own-pizza fast food pizza joint started in Seattle, Washington in 2008. They're one of the fastest growing chain stores ever since and they've opened numerous locations all over the country. This ain't "gourmet pizza" but you can certainly make it gourmet based on the toppings and ingredients you choose. There's 7 types of sauces, 7 cheeses, 26 veggies and good stuff, 10 meats (including a plant-based one), 4 crusts and 8 glazes. It doesn't matter if you have 2 ingredients or 20 ingredients, the price is still the same. They have 10 pizzas that are named on the menu, but I haven't seen a customer ordering those creations. And if you want to eat healthy, they also have a salad options for you. The menu even shows you the amount of calories on the items that you're ordering. You start with a crust of your choice, then a sauce or two, then a cheese or two or three, then the rest of the fresh ingredients available at the assembly line. One thing I love on my pizza is a whole clove of garlic, and they certainly garlic in bunches. After that, you can add whatever else your heart desires. One of my mottos is "Less is more," but I can't apply it to a place like this. I try not to overload my toppings, but I lack discipline and can't help myself. Everything looks so good, but for the price point of less than $10 for an 11" pizza, you can always order another one...which we always tend to do. Especially during the pandemic, you can definitely stretch your dollar over here and have plenty of leftovers for the next day or next meal. I can't hate, I gotta appreciate. I also learned about the company's practice of hiring people with criminal backgrounds. I think this is a great opportunity for a lot of people that deserves a second chance to provide them a path to contribute back to society in a positive way. Often times these people never get that chance since a lot of companies won't hire them and they fall back to their criminal activities into a never-ending cycle of negativity. I typically order the cauliflower crust pizza. I noticed I kept having to ask the guy to change to fresher looking toppings. Their toppings looked a little to mixed up for me. When the pizza came out of the oven I asked the guy to put LIGHT Sriracha sauce on the pizza. He dumped it on. I told him that I asked for it to go on LIGHT. He gave me a look of disgust. That bothered me. I also asked for a little pesto sauce. Again, I asked for a LIGHT amount. He huffed. At that point I just wanted to get my pizza and go. Used to be one of my favorites but the new staff are rude and skimpy on how much they put on your pizza. The girl who made my pizza mumbled the whole time and got obviously irritated when I asked her what she said. The food tasted good but my pizza was undercooked. They also give you a to-go box whether you asked to eat there or leave, which made me feel like they just wanted me out of there lol. They do have a good playlist going tho. I hope this message finds the business owner. My rating is due to the service of a particular server. I love MODs, my family does, and we recommend it to everyone, but if you encounter this young lady, then be aware. She worked today 1/21/2024, we went around 6:30PM. So we just recently left the place. We were ordering 3 pizzas, 2 MOD and 1 Mega dough, we noticed that the young lady was working on an online order. We waited patiently, and when she was ready asked what did we want. When we stated it, she grabs some bins where the dough was placed and went to the kitchen bringing dirty dishes. Next, she came back holding a bin full of dough and she just grabbed it one hand. I whispered to my wife, "do you think she'll change her gloves?", the young lady wiped the counter with the same gloves on. The reason why I questioned it is because I am allergic to artichokes, which she grabbed prior order. We noticed she didn't bother changing her gloves and went ahead and touched each dough to get floured and flattened. My wife then asked her if she could kindly change her gloves since we saw her brought dirty bins to the back and wipe the counter and her response was "what is wrong is that? I just grabbed the bucket." Then she asked if asked sarcastically if we would like to proceed with her changing gloves. At this point, we didn't bother arguing but stated that "if you work at a food industry, you would want to change gloves if it has been dirty.it is unsanitary" I also stated that I was allergic to what she touched but she just rolled her eyes, I just told my family to pack it up and leave. We told her to cancel the order and we proceeded to leave as she still continues to use the same gloves. To management, I do hope you have a conversation with her, especially since she never thought there was a problem. There were 3 people working in this shift. 2 Caucasian lady, (1 being the older one working on the oven, and the other we encountered at the front.) and a young African American boy. I created a lactos free version with pesto, dairy free cheese (which was really good for being dairy free), spinach, mushrooms jalapeños,grilled chicken, basil and spinach. Man was this good! I recently just went to MOD pizza tonight at around 8pm, when we first walked in this female that was wearing a hairnet was rushing us and kept on asking what we wanted to order when we were still looking at all of the toppings. Then when we got to the cashier, we asked her if we can get one small cup, and then she didn't add it to our order. Then when we asked her for our cup, she said "i literally just asked you if you wanted 2 small cups and you don't have to give attitude." After a late night gym session we come here & the guy at the front is so emotionally disconnected. He doesnt say hello or smile at all. And then I ordered a Caesar salad and he says "just to let you know we're out of Romain." It is literally not hard to grab some Romain and cut it. It takes two seconds, but I could tell he just wanted us out of here. Despite the fact that you might not like her job or you're having a hard day, you check that shit at the door and he do not bring it to work. Your employees are customer and forward facing, and he speaks for the business. whoever hired this guy needs to do a reevaluation or perhaps their own check in with themself as to why he was hired. Been to couple MOD pizza's around. This one is in a little strip mall that has a few places to eat and we've tried them all at some point. Line was not too bad here and the folks behind the counter worked pretty quickly. Kids are running around the place and are noisy and no one says anything - this I don't get because most people don't want to hear screaming kids while they're eating but this is today's world - the restaurant won't do anythig and the parents have no parenting skills. But that's just a side complaint. Pizza is good - never "great" but definitely good for a lunch. I really hate the parking lot though, always full, tons of high school kids, always a pain to maneuver around (Not MOD pizza's fault - just letting you know). read more

Not sure what happened to the customer service here. Definitely not like the service you'd get at a Chic-Fil-A or an In-N-Out Burger. There were no smiles, no eye contact, and no greetings. The staff was not friendly. Tables were dirty and the trash bins were overly full. There were no utensils what so ever. Neither plastic or metal. They were short on plates as well. Excellent MOD Pizza. I ordered the mod size pizza and the mod size salad. Had them put a little extra sauce on the pizza. Only cheese and olives. Cooked to perfection. The salad was all veggies with ranch dressing and blue cheese crumbles. Also fantastic. They no longer have blue cheese salad dressing, so just make your own by mixing blue cheese crumbles and ranch dressing. And of course have it stirred in. Most impressive, all of the staff was carefully adhering to the covid-19 safety precautions. They're checking your vaccine and they're all wearing masks. The guy was very nice, not too many people sitting in ( of course I never dine in ) but it's always great to not have so many people breathing so close to your food. I love MOD, but this place is a joke!!! I was there o today (03/09) at around 7:45pm. They are not time conscious at all. They took FOREVER!! When I got there, there were about 3 people in front of me, and they took like 20 mins to get our order. Even when we were ordering, they were so slow at making the pizzas! Never coming to this location again. Wasted a lot of time!!! AVOID THIS PLACE, especially if you are in a hurry. The workers have no care in the world to make the pizzas. read more
