Always a reliable dinner option for a decent price! I usually build my own (miss the ricotta cheese option) with spicy sausage and various veggies. This place is actually pretty gross. Their bathrooms are filthy. Like 7-Eleven gross. Puke on the floors and toilet seat. Sink was disgusting. The entire restaurant smells like dirty mop water. And the counters have clearly not been thoroughly cleaned in months (years?). There are a stack of pizza boxes that have likely never been pulled out or cleaned behind. Varying degrees of decay on the food that's fallen behind them. Management needs to step up here. As someone who worked in restaurants for a decade, your employees shouldn't leave until you approve their stations are thoroughly cleaned. I will not be back. This place just feels dirty. read more

Its pizza you can get quickly. Im not the biggest fan. This location gets a lot of traffic. I feel like the quality doesn't compare to similar places like Pieology, which if we had one close, we wouldn't eat at Mod. I will say its next door to the Goldwater taproom which doesn't have food so it is nice to grab a pizza and go next door for craft beer on tap. read more

This is a popular choice at work, most likely because it's conveniently close for easy pickup. I had never been, but my boss offered to buy me lunch for my birthday. The office administrator & I went to pick up the order, and I was actually really impressed with the establishment, even though we were only there for a few minutes! For lunch hour, it wasn't very busy. But, it was VERY clean! Everything was nicely organized, it almost looked like it was a brand new, grand opening! To my surprise, the online order was already sitting there nicely packaged, waiting to be picked up on a small table next to the beverage machines. Had I not been with someone who had done this before- I wouldn't have known to go locate the to-go order there. And that's also part of the reason I'm docking a star for this location- there were several employees about, but not a single one greeted us or asked us if we needed help. That would have been very frustrating had I gone in solo for the first time & not understood how things work here. We filled the drink cups & were on our way, not even a total of 10 minutes from arrival to picking up & leaving. That's great when you're on a time crunch during lunch hour! So when it comes to the food, I was almost a little concerned with how THIN the crust is. I'll admit I was skeptical & didn't think it would be very good... WHOA, I was wrong! Their pizza is REALLY good! I opted for the Caspian. I love bbq chicken pizza, especially from another establishment. I think MOD had a way better version! And, I also love their size options- being able to order a "mini" or individual pizza is perfect for lunch or a single serving! I wasn't able to finish the whole thing for lunch, so I reheated the leftovers for dinner. And even reheated, it was still just as good as it was fresh! So, I'm pretty thrilled with trying this new one out. I really want to try more of the menu now that I know what there is to offer. Third strike, their out. First was poorly made, second was picking up at assigned time, then waiting an additional 30 minutes. This is the third, and worst time - online order with two toppings with request for extra. Pick it up to find a note that just says "OUT" next to one topping. If the online ordering is unable to reflect that, then I would think a call would be order, the order required a phone number. I picked up my paper thin burnt pizza. To add insult, I was dumb enough to tip, before seeing how it would go this time. This makes a cheap frozen pizza look like the way to go. read more

My husband got so many recommendations for MOD pizza from his colleagues when they found out a branch opened recently close to our house. Since I've been going dairy free, we weren't planning to try it any time soon until one of his colleagues mentioned that they have dairy free cheese! So on Thursday night, I decided to go and order a pie for myself to eat at the restaurant and bring back home another one for my husband since he was working late. I walked in at around 7:30pm and the place was not too busy. At the counter, you start by ordering your pie size, type of sauce and type of cheese. I went with the regular pie size, tomato sauce and no cheese for both pies. I also chose the build your own (which I regretted later coz I got all confused and wasn't sure what to top both pizzas with!). The lady who was putting together my pizza was very patient with me while I looked over all he ingredients available and tried to make choices for both pies. I ended up making two different pizza pies that were both vegetarian. I topped half of mine with dairy free cheese and the other half with just a tiny sprinkle of parmesan. I topped my husband's with Asiago cheese and some parmesan as well. When I was done, they were taken to the oven and I went to pay and wait for the food. I paid around $19 inclusive of tip for the two pies. I only had water for drinks. While I was waiting, I looked around the place. Clean and trendy with nice decor and pictures on the wall. Quite a few people came in and ordered take out while I was there. A few min later, they called out my name and I grabbed my order. At the drinks section, you will find crushed red pepper shakers & Parmesan as well as other dried herb mixes that you can top your pizza with. My pizza was obviously super hot I needed to wait for a min before I was able to eat. The crust was nice and crispy. The dairy free cheese was actually not bad at all. I was a bit worried about the taste. Just a little note and something to be aware of. When you order a pizza with no mozzarella, it'll feel like flat bread rather than a pizza. The toppings may seem lacking but it still tastes pretty good. I wish they would put more though to be honest coz you taste more bread and less toppings. My husband tried his pizza at home and he said he enjoyed it too. We have already gone back today and ordered 3 pizzas; Isaac, Caspian and Tristan for takeout. Our favorite was the Tristan. The pesto made it really taste very flavorful (and yes I had a slice each even though there was real cheese in them. Couldn't help but try them!). Definitely a win for our neighborhood! read more

Nice new location. Spacious and with a large selection of drink options ranging from local beer to soft drinks and an array of teas and lemonades. Then there is the pizza. They have all kinds of ingredients that you can mix and match -- or not -- on your custom pizza and then have fired while you wait (not long, either!) Sure, there are several other, "you make it, we cook it," pizza places around and the idea is similar here. The crust definitely sets them apart from the others, as does their selection of post-oven dressings. They have two crust sizes: regular and mini (for when you're flying solo and just not feeling like you can eat the WHOLE pie on your own). And both come out with a cracker-crisp crust and melted cheese (hey, that's important when firing a pizza!) Can't decide on a topping combination on your own? They have several standards posted on the wall menu and a seasonal option as well. I had one with white sauce, sausage, Asiago cheese and tomatoes. It was great and I'll be back to try the pesto and red sauces. The staff were friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in making sure we were happy with our pizzas. Tried MOD for the first time last night with my husband. I got one of their MOD creations (didn't build my own), I went with the Dominic. My husband built his own and was able to get pretty creative with his toppings, sauce etc. and even had different toppings on each 1/2 of his pizza. I thought it was pretty cool that he got to build his own with as many toppings he wanted for the same price - good deal! We paid for our 2 pizzas, my husband got beer and I went for their blackberry lemonade which was delicious! Our pizzas came out shortly after with two small sides of free ranch (upon request). The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the fact that the Dominic was supposed to have tomatoes, and mine came out with none. It was good nonetheless, and I had already taken a few bites out of my pizza before I realized, so I decided to let it go without this time and be sure that I try the Dominic with tomatoes next time. read more

Look. I'm a fan of the build your own deliciousness and the choose your own adventure kind of pizza. I am. I've been to lots of yummy, quality places that do that sort of thing. HOWEVER. this Mod Pizza was.... Subpar, at best. First, the good: The line moved pretty quickly and my food was tasty enough. Then, the bad: They were busy, it's true. I went around 7:30 on a Friday night, so I understand that they were all running around like mad. But the employees were rude and snappy and I waited for about 15 minutes at the register before someone came to take my payment. The line to pay was longer than the line to get food, at one point. On top of that, when she did deign to come to the register, her attitude was poor and she needed a SERIOUS lesson in customer service. I asked for 2 cups and she tossed - yes TOSSED - them at me from across the counter. The gal who made my pizza was spreading different sauces on different pizzas and cleaning the edges of them *without* changing her gloves - so that was kinda icky too. Not only was the service not great, the restaurant was suuuper loud, almost too loud to hear in, and the plate on which my pizza was served was dirty. So all in all: decently priced, decent tasting pizza, but horrible service. read more

Good Made on Demand pizza. We all got what we wanted and it was great. They went a little light on the cheese (just shy of a measured scoop), but it was still good. Pretty quick and reasonably priced. Still a regular and they are getting more and more light on the cheese. They don't use a measuring scoop any more and just sprinkle a little on, then the toppings. I order from here quite often (3x a month on average) because, as any other Mesa resident knows, there's not many food options after 8 or 9pm on weekdays. I'm never dissatisfied at this location. Always made fresh and on time. Staff is professional a d accommodating. As for the pizza. the 11" mega dough is perfect size for me all to myself =) definitely recommended. Only downside was not knowing in advance that when I placed my delivery order directly through their website, they use a third party to deliver your order using Door Dash (which personally I am not a fan of...). Had I known that, I would have preferred to save the money and just pickup my order instead. read more

This is definitely not the MOD Pizza that I would've expected. Having been to other locations, I knew I would get a good pizza with some good service. This is my first time to this location and will be my last. The employee making my pizza seemed bothered that I came in to order a pizza. She acted completely lethargic and lifeless. I should've known when walking to the door and seeing a list of about 15 items that they no longer had in stock that I should've walked away. Judging from other reviews I am not alone. The manager of this location needs to step up and inspect the way things are operating. If not then the franchise owner might want to reconsider the management they have running their business. We've been waiting for MOD to open near our house, and were not disappointed. We've hit nearly all the create-your-own pizza joints, so I'll sum up what I liked about MOD. *I LOVE that they offer three sizes of pizzas: the mini, the original 11" and the mega. (Mega is 11" but thick crust.) *Their regular dough is crispy, with a cracker-like consistency. *Service is fast and friendly. *My son liked the garlic spread you can put on your pizza. *The inside of the restaurant is spacious and airy. *They have a wide variety of beverage options. All in all, it seems like a place we will definitely be returning to. read more

Stopped in for a pie on pi day. They have a lunch special for March, a Mod pizza and drink for $10. I think I was hoping for a 3.14 pizza but oh well. We ate outside, there are 2 or 3 tables with umbrellas. It was very shady outside so the umbrella wasn't really needed, plus the sun felt good. There was a lot of indoor seating as well but it was nice outside. Next to Mod is a brewery so if you like to have a few drinks you can take your pizza there to eat it. I recently came here as it's a new business that opened up in a newer business development site next to a sprouts. I will break this down in different sections for what I believe to be highlights! Décor: As soon as you walk into the door, you feel like the space is grand and open. You see the hot oven, and it's CLEAN. OMG I love when a restaurant is clean. They have a breakdown on how to order the MOD way, and a list of different creations that they recommend. Btw, they also have a local beer selection, I only saw 2. BUT STILL!!! Food: Now for the most common size, it was big enough for my daughter and I to share. You get unlimited toppings, but obviously they can't add a ton or the pizza won't come off the peel. You get more with less! We also ordered the garlic strips. The pizza itself is thin crust, and has a beautiful crust to it. Snaps, and slight char. Can't ask for a better crust! The sauce and everything works great together. You also can finish off your pie with a couple different options, E.G. Ranch, Hot Sauce, Pesto. The garlic strips were surprisingly good as well, the fresh rosemary really made a difference. Service: The staff there was a real treat. They were all willing to explain how to order the best pie, which creations they believe were the best. They were patient, and incredibly nice. Once your pie is done, they make sure everything looks correct, and make sure you're completely taken care of. Overall: This place is a very welcome gem in Mesa. Amazing pizza. I love their crust and all the topping options you can add at no extra charge. Beware if you go on a busy night they will prioritize all the internet orders before anyone in line and this will make the line move painfully slow. Also the place was a mess. The clean salad bowls were sitting in tray that had topping scraps in it. The tables had not been cleared or wiped in about an hour. We had to throw someone's left behind trash away so we could sit. I hope they get the logistics of the internet vs in house customers figured out and clean up their act because I sure love their pizza. read more

Went to Made on Delivery Pizza very similar to Fired Pie. Fresh Mozzarella is always good. You can get whatever toppings you want on your pizza and it is the same price. I wish the employees had name tags so I knew who to call out for excellent service. They also have ice cream shakes, Birch Root Beer. I ordered take out and had over 10 items atop my pie. The crust was paper thin however need thicker crust. They do have a double crust option for $10. As opposed to the 11in at $7.97. Might have to try it next time. The tomatoes sauce needed to add more for me next time and maybe they can doctored it up with oregano, rosemary & basil so it tastes better. So pretty good for first time. I do believe Fired Pie has more topping options but no ice cream shakes. read more
