They also offer three different sauces and we enjoyed all of them. The restaurant itself is pretty small and it was very busy the entire time we were there which says a lot about how popular this place is. They do have a large outdoor patio but it was way too hot to sit outside even with the misters. We sat at the long high top table inside and it felt tight especially with people in line right next to us. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely go back to try some other dishes and definitely more birria tacos.

I normally don't do reviews let alone negative ones but this had to be said. Last night, Friday 3/1/19, was the absolute last straw for me and this location. Not only did the employees not greet me upon walking in, but everything that could go wrong went HORRIBLY wrong. Had to wait 5 mins before someone acknowledged me to take my order. Unfortunately I got the same "manager" as I did before, some short brunette/redhead girl, Julie or Joni or whatever. She didn't have a nametag and refused to tell me at first when I asked. Anyways. Finally got my order taken and YET AGAIN this so called manager doesn't know how to do change. Don't remember what the total was because she didn't give me my receipt and then said they "cant reprint receipts". Last time I was in she didn't know how to correctly count the money to give change so bad, she had to use a pen and paper and STILL had trouble. So like last time I ended up paying with card. I wait for my food which took over 10 mins to receive. I understand you are getting ready to close but what happened to customer first? I watched my bread just sit after being toasted while she talked to some black haired chick the entire time. Finally got my food and no napkins in the bag. I ask her where napkins were since none were on the tables just to receive the remark "we had to take them down, customers kept making messes with them". WOW. THIS is what you have for a manager, Firehouse?!? Sorry cleaning up after people is what you get paid to do. Luckily I happened to see a thing by the soda machine full of them. That would've been too much work to point me to them instead. Then I get home and my sandwich was made so horribly wrong.. Lg Italian and barely has any ham on it at all and only 2 pepperonis, one each end. None of their seasoning which in my opinion makes the sub, and no tomatoes?? I asked for FULLY INVOLVED. FULLY. INCLUDING TOMATOES. I angrily called the store hoping to talk to someone else but nope, same ignorant child manager. I told her how frustrating it was to not only have to wait for so long but to receive my food made wrong. I wasn't looking for a refund exactly but something to make up for it nonetheless. What did I get? "Well fully involved means tomatoes too".. I get that, that's why I ORDERED IT THAT WAY. So I ask for an actual manager and she says "I'm the only manager here". I ask if there's someone higher at another time I can talk to. "Well there's the owner but he's rarely in here, but I'm the assistant manager." Oh how convenient. So then I ask for a refund at that point and of course she doesn't know how to issue refunds. I ask about coming back to have it remade and said I can be there in about 15 minutes. "But we'll be closed by then". This phone call was 830pm and your website says 9pm as closing time. As I stated before, this was the absolute final last straw for me and this location. Not if they're going to have ignorant stupid child as an assistant manager. This place will be run to the ground out of business if they hire more people like her let alone kids who were never taught basic math and money. I sincerely hope other people see this, the owner sees this, and maybe that idiot sees this and realizes she needs a different job. Counting money wasn't the issue. It's coming here four times and 3 of which my food was made wrong, never got fixed, and all I got was attitude. I do give props to the one tattooed man who worked the one night it was a good experience. Greeted me, took my order right away and food out to me in less 10 minutes. Also took my tray when I was done eating, as if I were at a restaurant. I thought with him wearing a collared shirt and being very courteous and professional, thathe was one of the managers, unless he's an owner? Anyways. Absolutely our favorite sub shop of all time! When Firehouse Subs opened in our neighborhood (Dana Park), we thought it would be "just another sub shop." We were WRONG. What fun to hear, "Welcome to Firehouse," yelled from their entire crew every time you walk in! What fun to very often see police and firemen eating there (Firehouse gives first responders a price break, which I think is so cool). All of Firehouse's subs are steamed hot. They don't use one meat vendor ... they use the best meat vendor for that particular kind of meat to get the best! I am a real fan of pastrami, but you can't usually find good quality pastrami in Arizona ... it's usually fatty and not great flavor. At Firehouse, try the "Steamer" which is a combo of pastrami and corned beef brisket, which is absolutely delectable! The basic Steamer typically comes with Provolone, Mayo, Mustard and Italian Dressing ... but I think the quality of the meat and cheese is so yummy that I ask for it "straight up" without the fixins! Although I do ask for extra dill pickle spears ... they are the BEST. My hub absolutely loves the Steak & Cheese Sub which can come with sauteed mushrooms and onions if you'd like. Add jalapenos if you'd like a little zip. If you've been going to Subway out of habit, I'd really encourage you to try something different in Firehouse Subs. I don't think you'll end up going back to Subway. If you have small children, Firehouse will give them a little plastic fireman's helmet to wear! And there's a really good chance that fireman and/or policemen will be in the shop at lunch or dinner times ... has happened to me numerous times when there. Although Firehouse Subs is a franchise that started in Florida, this truly feels like a local mom 'n pop joint to us. We have gotten to know the franchisees for this location, Aaron, Linda and John. Great, great people that have a great attitude to serve their customers. I couldn't recommend Firehouse Subs in Dana Park more highly. read more

I was disappointed at the experience of eating here. For the price, the wait, and the taste, it wasn't worth it. These sandwiches are on the pricier end and the workers here take quite a while to put the sandwiches together. There were a number of people sitting around waiting for their food. We must have waited maybe 20 minutes. This was the first time trying this sandwich and we ordered one of the cheese steak subs and one of the turkey ones. In the past when I've ordered this type of cheese steak at other sub shops, it's usually served hot. At firehouse, it was served room temp and the steak slices were dry so it didn't taste the way a cheese steak should taste. The experience was also made a bit uncomfortable in that the cashier asked if we wanted to make a donation. Aren't we already supporting the fire department thru tax dollars and by eating at the shop? It just made me feel a bit pressured and didn't add to the experience. read more

The location is one of the better ones as there's good natural lighting out the eastern windows and they have ample seating inside and a larger patio with tables on the east, SE and south side of the building...so you can normally find share or sun pending your preference. The subs here are above average. They have steamers for their meats and cheeses so they melt together and have enhanced flavor. The bread is average and sometimes will be under toasted or over toasted. They have the standard add-on toppings, and also have a hot sauce bar with different brands and Scoville levels of sauce. For drink selections, they have a large Coke Freestyle machine, but they more often than not have some or all the flavorings out of stock. What's the point of this machine if there's no vanilla peach Coke? They brew their own unsweet and sweet tea as well. I understand that offering military discounts is a business decision and I am not bitter towards companies who don't offer one. What troubled me about today's experience was the inconsistency in practice. I came in today because of the military discount they gave me last time. If I were the one standing at the register, I would have granted the discount today while informing the guest of the change in practice instead of questioning the guest's claim of a past discount. As it turned out, I felt very awkward for having brought up the issue. Chick-fil-A has good food and as a business they have a stellar reputation. Their customer service is typically exceptional. (Even today, the man who took my order stopped by my table and got me a drink refill.) The awkward interaction at the register was atypical. I'm hopeful Chick-fil-A managers will use the scenario above in training their teams. I come to Chic-fil-A primarily for the dining experience not the food. Today that experience was off brand.
