I guess the food was ok but I am mainly upset because I got a fortune cookie with no fortune in it!

Usually I either cook my meals or make a quick panino or salad, but sometimes I just need a Chow Mein to satisfy my hunger :) Panda Express is, of course, quick food that hits the spot same as a cheeseburger does at other times, but this is our local Panda and so far has been consistent in the food it offers. Due to my severe allergy to chilis I haven't tried any of the spicy dishes, even though they look pretty inviting. My go to besides the noodles are the Wonton Soup, the Egg and Spring rolls, and most times the Orange Chicken. Oh, and the Crab Rangoon: crispy and creamy! I 've had the Broccoli beef several times, since I love green veggies, and the beef is flavorful and sliced nicely thin. Then there's the Walnut Shrimp that catches my eye every time I order but still haven't tried it at Panda's. Maybe next time I'll get those too and share the dish. Service is behind the counter so you place your order and wait to be called, but the people plating the orders are polite and smiling; as it's a fast food restaurant there are tables too but I see more takeout orders than sitting down to eat. Probably depends on the day of the week too. When going in to order the restaurant appears clean, the tables get bussed frequently and the food in the hot trays is refilled as soon as the level drops down. I would like to see some desserts or maybe Moon cakes during festivals, but honestly probably couldn't fit in another bite .... It gets a lot of traffic and sometimes you've got to wait a while to place an order or for items to be available after a crowd blazes through and depletes your favorites. If you're here, you're looking for fast rather than fancy or even "authentic." In my opinion, for what it is, it's fine. It's all about expectations. I think of it like a place for a quick lunch during work. If you have never been to one of these shops before, the concept is a bit like a school lunch line: you grab a tray and walk down the line, telling the person behind the glass what you'd like. You can do half rice and half noodles or "super veggies" -- basically, kale and broccoli -- as your side if you don't want to commit to one. I'll usually order ahead these days if I know what items I'd like and I'm not planning to eat at the shop. The app works well for that. Ask for the spicy mustard and you can add some heat to any of the dishes. So, a solid OK with a rounding to 4 stars for convenience. read more

For some reason, I'd convinced myself that I didn't like Panda. We've been a couple of times lately and I've realized it's actually quite good! The one item bowl with orange chicken and chow mein (or rice) makes for a delicious meal. You can even ask them to add in some vegetables. My husband and I have theorized that if you see an employee changing out an entree pan with a fresh pan, it's wise to order that entree. We base a lot of last minute decisions on that and it's served us well. Despite what other reviews say, I've found the employees here to be efficient and nice. As fast food choices go, Panda is a fairly decent one. read more

My husband and I occasionally like to eat from Panda Express. This branch is the closest to our house and we've tried it multiple times now. We tried dining in once but we mostly order take out. This was the first time that I went to get the food (It's usually my husband). I got there a little after 6:00pm and there was a line for takeout. Only a couple of tables were occupied. I ordered one 2 entree meal and one "bigger" for my husband which is basically 3 entrees and a side. The sesame chicken is back so I thought, must be a popular choice, let's try that. We are big fans of noodles so I ordered that for both of us. We also got the spicy beef, the broccoli beef and the string been chicken. I also got 1 order of vegetable spring roll which is 2 rolls. I paid around $20 for everything and quickly went home. I must say this was by far the best meal we'd ever had at Panda Express. The food was hot and fresh and everything tasted delicious. I see why the sesame chicken is back, it's really good. A tiny bit sweet and the taste of sesame is not overpowering. We've not been so lucky in previous times we got our food here but we're thinking it's the time that made a difference. In all the other times we've been to this branch, we were there pretty late in the evening, like 8:00pm onwards. This was the first time that I got the food during the dinner rush when the turnover is high and the food is coming out of the kitchen constantly. We love panda, but the last few times we have been there it has not been satisfactory Each time we have been there we have had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for an item to finish being prepared We always order Kung pow chicken however, the last three times there are so many peppers in it, and it is nearly inedible I have written to the corporate office. I've tried to call the location to no avail. The last batch of Kung pao chicken was almost all peppers ten of them !!! and vegetable w very little chicken The beef and broccoli was mostly broccoli, and there were three small slices of beef We will try another location. I walked into the Mesa store there were 2 other people deciding and there where 3 people working the line. We live near by and our girls love Panda but every time without fail this location is always out of food before they are even closed. Their food is gone and they never have anything fresh after 8pm. If they close at 9:30pm that gives them plenty of time but they never have fresh food. It's a busy Panda but yet always never food and they don't make any either. After doing housework all day yesterday I was way too tired to cook so we came in to Panda to get some food to go since the dining room was still closed to people eating there. We purchased a Large side of the chow mein and a two item combo to go. We were lucky the chow mein was still cooking so i didn't mind waiting a few extra minutes for it to come out since their food is under heating lamps all day so it was great as always. Or two item combo consisted of half chow mein and half fried rice here again the chow mein was really good but the fried rice was crazy crunchy a person could've cracked a tooth totally nasty! The orange chicken and the beef broccoli was good and we purchased an order of spring rolls to go with our meal. I honestly have to say that Panda Express is like playing slots in Vegas you're not always going to win. I guess it depends on what day you go in and who is cooking it unless the rumors are true that most of their food comes frozen then how can you honestly screw that up. read more

This panda is subpar. It has the ability to be amazing but the skimpy amounts of food they give 90%of the time makes them cheap on food but high on cost. People are always standing out the door and waiting for food. This staff is never prepared for the dinner rush. And by Rush I mean four people in line. They are always waiting for the veggies and orange chicken. Tonight on our visit there was a very dangerous sauce spill on the floor in the middle of the walkway. Instead of cleaning it to prevent a fall the workers walked around this for nearly the whole time we were eating. Then one employee went on dinner break right in the middle of the big rush. This restaurant is always freezing cold and dirty. Only reason why we eat here is it is close to our house. There are much better pandas to eat at. read more

I've been to this location a number of times, and due to portion size inconsistencies and poor attitude to go with it, I now go out of my way to visit a different location. This afternoon my daughter's boyfriend stopped in to pick up food for the two of them around 4pm. Robert O. gave him VERY small portions, and when he asked the manager what he was paying for, he was told he received the proper portion servings. Really? Half a bowl is the proper serving now? It sure hasn't been in the past. You're going to see in the photo I post exactly what she got for her money. Again, this location is _never_ consistent with their portion sizes. Everything comes down to who serves you. This comes from personal experience, btw. Anyone who has been to Panda Express more than once knows full well half a bowl being the proper portion size is absurd. Maybe since he was answering to a teenager at the time, he felt short serving a couple of kids was OK. Too bad you've done it to me as well, and I'm calling you out for it. Hopefully now, the kids will avoid this location as well. I'm writing this review just in case you're considering going here, in which case it's worth your time to try another spot if you're looking to get what you pay for at the very least. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. We waited 15, FIFTEEN MINUTES for teriyaki chicken. Ordered 3 plates to go and the associate conveyed that the teriyaki chicken was cooking, so why would you continue to package the remaining items? I could understand speed being part of this strategy, but guests are already waiting and now the food isn't fresh. The teriyaki chicken was not cooking by the way. As we were told otherwise, the associate turned to the cook to ask to start making it (as we couldn't hear or weren't paying attention). Once we actually received the food it was nice and soggy from all the condensation built up from sitting under the heat lamp. Lastly, from the other Panda stores I've visited and waited for food to be cooked (usually under 5 minutes), the associate offers a complimentary beverage stating "it's protocol when guests wait for cooked items." Is this store ran by an owner who's cheap and follows different methods or was the shift leader not informed of this courtesy gesture? REGARDLESS if this is Panda's protocol or not, as a restaurant... cognitively isn't this the best kind gesture a store can offer for ANYONE waiting as long as we did?? Had a fantastic experience here. The nicest thing happened to me here that has ever happened to me at a quick-casual/fast-food establishment. I came in right before closing on a Saturday night. I wanted some Orange Chicken, which they had, but they didn't have that much left. I didn't mind, though, so I ordered a bowl with the Orange Chicken, got the food and sat down. Part way through eating, the clerk who had helped me with the food approached me with a small plate of freshly made Orange Chicken. She mentioned that, because I didn't get that much, they made me a fresh batch. I hadn't asked for more, but they went out of their way to make some for me of their own accord. It was delicious. Moreover, it was very courteous, and I felt very thankful for her and the staff's generosity. 10/10 would absolutely go again. read more

I've finally had enough of this place. Ordering online w/ this place is a complete crap shoot. Tonight was the last straw. First of all, the online ordering website is clunky and poorly designed. Online, I attempted at least 10 times to order 2-two item plates. Each time I kept getting an error "There is something wrong with the items in your order" . Didn't bother telling me what, exactly. Was it the CVV code in on my credit card? Nope. Was it the credit card number? Nope. I finally tried ordering 2 bowls and that worked just fine. I get there and thankfully its not that crowded but 3 people are waiting at the register. "Maria" is talking in great detail to a woman. I am not greeted. No "Welcome to panda" nothing. I see no order ready in a bag. I wait, I watch as the person who arrived AFTER me gets his food and leaves. Finally she wraps up this conversation with this woman (apparently about some catering in a couple days). By this time I'm read to leave. She asks me if she can help me I say... "My names Robert... I have a to go order that hasn't been filled I want a refund" And I hand her my card. She tells me she can't do the refund I take my card and I leave. I call about 1.5 hours later and Maria answers "I tried to make you the order but you left and I need to see if I can give you the refund". I about lost my mind. I told her... "I STOOD THERE FOR 20 MINUTES and watched customers who came AFTER ME leave with thier food, while you talked to that woman. Nobody said hello, nobody said "welcome to panda" NOTHING". Stopped by this evening to pick up two orders for DoorDash. Restaurant was behind despite having minimal walk-in traffic. More than a 15-minute delay and still no food. Minimal communication about the reason for the delay from staff, other than to say, "it will be just a few more minutes...". Finally was told by staff that manager was in communication with either DoorDash or the customer for updates about the order. Manager then became aggressive and unprofessional when we told her we already canceled the order, blaming us for the long wait time. Total wait time for no food was almost 30 minutes. This is not common for this location but incredibly disappointing. Unhelpful staff combined with a completely disrespectful, aggressive and inappropriate manager, who followed us out continuing to blame us for the delay, made for a very poor experience. read more

We knew we couldn't return the food, and it was actually partly what we ordered so we just went with the flow. Then they called us to let us know we could still go pick up our original order. Web and mobile app takes at least 1 minute to choose each item/entree. To place an order for 7 items on line and then pay took will take at least 10-12 minutes to get through their app even when you know what you want. This is crazy!!! I would choose an item then sit and wait at least a full minute for the screen to refresh so I could choose the next item. I tried my iPad and I also tried on my iPhone. My friend even tried on her pad and had the same response time. So I decided to call while filling out the app and that took 25 minutes for them to pick up. So finally I drove down to place my order. If I could give the location on McKellips & Power a negative star, I would. Our Christmas Eve tradition is to have Panda express so I placed an order online several days ago. When I got to the location at my requested pick up time at 7p, they were closing. I Knocked on the door until the manager Xavier came out to speak with me. He told me that my order was canceled and that I should have received an email & credit card refund, which I didn't. I asked repeatedly what we should do for our Christmas Eve dinner and he kept saying, "I don't know what to tell you". The location has my email, house phone number & my cell phone number, but no one bothered to contact me. Even worse, I called the Location 4 times earlier in the day with no answer and then called the catering line and that operator confirmed that the location was open until 8 PM. I enjoy Panda, but HATE this location & don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

I do enjoy Panda from time to time at various locations. Two days ago I came in the afternoon, customer service was good, facility clean. When food was being dished out, I thought I saw small servings to my plate. When I received the plate, I looked inside and saw what I thought I saw was correct which was very disappointing. Panda Express servings for main entrees are usually from good to healthy portions. The servings on this visit was barely minimal, which is disheartening when you pay $10+ for your meal (Plate meal with Izze). I counted 6 pieces of Orange chicken (not that I normally count but it was too obvious), and 3 pieces of beef in my broccoli beef.
