Thin Crust Pizza at it's very best. I'm so happy that I turned to Yelp to find a new pizza place and stumbled onto Mod Pizza. One reviewer wrote, "Best pizza in Houston". Well, I partially agree - it is the best "thin crust" pizza in Houston. Not since I lived in New York have I had such an amazing, fresh thin crust pizza. They made a couple of mistakes in my favor when I picked up my order, so I'm grateful for that. I had ordered the garlic strips and they made me the cinnamon sticks so once they realized the mistake, they simply gave me both. The staff was super friendly and attentive. After taking one bite of my Mad Dog pizza, it was hard to stop. The crust was perfectly cooked and the fresh ingredients made me forget to add the extra parmesan cheese that I asked for. The restaurant itself has a very casual vibe. This was my first order and it was carry out. My next visit will be when I can dine in the restaurant because if my pizza tasted that great after a short commute home then next time I want to dive into it as soon as it is made. read more

Boo! I paid $20 for a tiny pizza that was just, "okay" in flavor. It was so small that it looked like a personal size pizza. Its my fault! I didnt pay attention to the size, I get it. I really thought it was going to be outstandingly tasty, but I was wrong. Next time, I will look for someone else and not think about them twice! Trendy buy not worth the price for what you get. 2 thumbs down!! read more

Mod pizza is a great concept! Think chipotle....Italian style! You can't beat the price - single pizza with unlimited toppings for about $8. All toppings were fresh, and every section of the service line was labeled. It made it easier to select toppings. Crust was slightly burnt, but this is my preference. Interestingly enough, they serve wine on "tap". It's your traditional white and red options (Pinot Grigio or Pinot Noir). I wasn't expecting fine aged wine at Mod, BUT they could at least purchase some nicer stemware to serve their wine in. At first, the clerk attempted to pour my wine in a plastic cup, but she poured me the wrong wine. She decided to serve my wine in a huge shot glass. Not much better. Wine glasses aren't that expensive, Mod! read more

Nice thin crust pizza. Concept is very similar to Chipotle or Subway. You pick your size and then run through the buffet of toppings. You can order a classic pizza that has predetermined toppings on it or you can build your own. The price stays the same and your toppings are unlimited. We got a classic/seasonal, the Salvatore, and a build your own. All together good food. They were a tad burned and my Salvatore didn't have quite enough cheese. All small tweaks. I am sure I will be back! Great price and very filling! $7.47 per 11 inch pie!!! They have a good amount of employees, but they are inefficient. I think it is because they are brand new. I'm hoping this will resolve itself win time. Defiantly would recommend MOD! read more

So today the hubbs, Luci S. and I came here for lunch for an after-church treat. As I was checking out and paying for our meal, the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to add cinnamon or garlic sticks. I seriously thought about it for a few seconds, and said, "No, but thanks." He was like, "Are you suuuuure?" to which I hesitated and thought hard about it for another few seconds, and finally said, "No, thanks anyway." After our pizzas were done cooking and we sat down, the same guy came to our table with a plate of complimentary cinnamon sticks. I mean... who does that??? I didn't think this place could get any better. Well, I was wrong! Thank you MOD! I'm definitely gonna be a regular here, not just for the delicious design-your-own pizza, but the excellent and generous customer service. read more

I was craving some pizza and found MOD on Yelp. It was highly rated so why not. Personally I love the build your own pizza concept. Also my 5 year old loves building his own pizza. The process is simple, you go in and you can choose a prebuilt pizza or build your own. You choose the size, cheese, sauce, meats, veggies, ingredients. When you are done building your pizza, they cook it for you. The pizza dough is thin and light, and the size offerings is perfect. All the ingredients is fresh (other than not offering fresh jalapenos). The dessert pizza is great. The services is great, the crew is nice and attentive. They great you when you walk in to when you leave. If you want to try something different with pizza or love customizing your pizza, you should give MOD a try. read more

Ordered 2 pizzas for pickup at about 8. Arrived 40 minutes after placing the online order and they were just putting our pizzas in the oven when I asked to pick them up! So I had to wait another 10 minutes and the convenience of ordering beforehand was completely lost, which was frustrating. As far as taste goes my pizza was slightly above average. I had broccolini, Rosemary, sundried tomatoes, and mozzarella. They definitely burnt my boyfriend's pizza. However, the price is what brings people in and the portions are pretty much perfect. So if you're feeling cheap, have time to waste, and like slightly better than average pizza, pay MOD a visit. It's a cool concept. read more

Man what an awesome pizza joint! Everything about Mod Pizza is awesome! The food, the prices, the place, and the workers make this a great place to frequent. The food: We tried the Jasper and the Caspian pizzas and they were absolutely delicious! Perfectly portioned individual pizzas and so good. They were perfectly seasoned and just plain delicious. They also have some cool drinks their as well. The prices: Very reasonably priced and you can make your own pizzas with unlimited toppings for no charge! Yes NO CHARGE! I didn't know that but my wife and became friends with one of the workers and he gave us the lowdown. The vibe: Very cool and laid back pizza place. The workers are very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be frequenting this place. read more

Who doesn't LOVE unlimited toppings and personal pizzas? Especially for less than $5 for a personal mini pizza?! (which was the perfect size for me!) At Mod Pizza you get the choice of choosing to build your own pizza or choosing one of their own. I recommend building your own, that way you can MAKE SURE you get everything you love all on one pizza. My boyfriend is all about the meats and I love my veggies, so Mod is perfect for us! We don't have to argue or figure out how to split the pizza. We just simply get our own just the way we like it! And don't even get me started on their huge variety of ingredients to choose from! From the different sauces, to the array of meats, and endless choice of veggies and cheeses, Mod pizza has made its way into my heart as my new favorite pizza joint in Houston! read more

I came here with a large group (20+ of us) and they got us through the line so quickly - I was impressed! And of course, I love ModPizza for the fact that you can add however many toppings you want for the same price because I love my toppings. I even got some corn on my pizza this time and it was pretty good. Plus, it's a great place to go to get food quickly and where you can pay individually at the counter and don't have to worry about splitting the bill. read more

After seeing MOD Pizza on a couple of friends' Snapchat stories - I was so excited to try it out! Similar in concept to Top It Pizza - Mod is essentially a DIY Pizza joint. We stopped by on a stormy night but was met smiles and an upbeat attitude from all employees. When coming in, there's a wall where they display their top creations for those that don't want to create their own pizza as well as a little handout that lists all their ingredients for you to list as you're moving down their assembly line. I ordered mine with white sauce, dairy-free cheese (yes!!!), italian spicy sausage, canadian bacon, onions, olives, and mushrooms. Totally forgot about putting on spinach -- so will have to return to retry it! My only gripe about my pizza was that my toppings never stayed on my pizza but that may have been due to the dairy-free cheese as my boyfriends' toppings on his pizza stayed on with his mozzarella cheese-topped pizza. But sacrifices must be made. If you're an alliumphile/garlic lover - get their garlic strips w/a side of their sri-Rancha. Soooo yum! read more

I love the concept of customizable pizzas & unlimited toppings, and I am happy that the trend has finally reached Houston! MOD Pizza meets expectations, because generally speaking, if you don't like your pizza, you are the one to blame. It's great for friends, couples, kids, or casual groups of any other kind. And at $8 a pizza, it's hard to say no. My main critique is that the pizzas here seem greasier and more bland comapred to other similar chains. Overall still enjoyable, but not my favorite. read more

Glad to have a really good pizza place to add to my arsenal. I always avoided this place thinking it was just another chain, but there is a reason this is the fastest growing restaurant in America - their pizza is good! It's thin, the sauce is tangy - not spicy, but has a little heat. They use quality toppings, tasty dough and there is very little grease. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the quality of the salads. There is room for improvement. But who goes to a pizza place to get salad in the first place? Overall great place and will be back. read more

I love this place. I don't think there's anything I can say that everyone else has already said. Just go, pile on the toppings, and enjoy unlimited toppings for the same price. Use your imagination, or do what my boyfriend does, "uh, can you just add all the meats?" Also, I would ask for extra red or white sauce, whichever you get. They usually don't put that much. read more

I went in after seeing numerous 5 start reviews pop up on the newsfeed. I love the concept of having unlimited toppings on your pizza but there's where the fun ends. These pizzas are made on very thin dough, almost like flat bread pizzas after they are baked. My pizza tasted bland despite having ample toppings. I would not order Mega over MOD size pizza. The mega is about 3-4 dollars more, the same size pizza but they put another level of thin dough with light sauce and cheese. not worth the extra money in my opinion. Garlic strips were the thin dough (again), seemed to be sprinkled with garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Tasted just like you would imagine. Pizzas here definitely look better than they taste. If you are looking for your classic cheesy pizza, you might have to look somewhere else. read more

"Mouth Heaven". Crust was thin and crispy. The crust is just right, it allows the toppings to shine through. I absolutely dislike traditional pizza. I am not a fan of wet sauces. I was able to create a pizza that I could eat and enjoy. I ordered the mini 6" with pesto drizzled across the crust, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, bacon, spicy sausage, roasted red peppers, with feta cheese. Talk about awesome!!! The ingredients were really fresh and flavorful. My daughter and hubby ordered the MOD size which is 11". He loaded it up with spicy items and my daughter was traditional pepperoni and sausage. Drinks - the blackberry lemonade is simply delightful and fresh squeezed. My hubby also enjoyed the shake. We live a block away and will visit often. Never again will I suffer through traditional saucy runny pizza. read more

I used to come here all the time when it opened, but have not been much since the pandemic. I decided to go again yesterday, which was a big mistake. Never again. The crust is terrible now, like they have left it sitting out all day. Worse than frozen pizza. Plus, the place was filthy. Napkins on the floor, dirty tables, even the counter was dirty. And for the dinner rush? Three people working the store, none of whom were the least bit friendly. All kinds of signs this place is going downhill. read more

The first time I came here, I loved it! The manager was very social with all the guest at the register. They do give military discount too! Parking: Medium size parking lot that is shared with other stores in the shopping plaza. There shouldn't be any issue with finding a parking spot. Time and Day: Came on a Saturday at 8:30 PM. The restaurant was around 20% full and so there was no issue getting a table. For large groups, there are large picnic tables located in the back near the restroom. Food: As the other reviewers mentioned, this restaurant is basically a Subway for pizza. You pick the sauce, meat, vegetables, cheese, and etc. If you are new here and making your pizza from scratch is overwhelming, you can get one of their top ten pizzas and add in any extra toppings that you like. As a meat lover, I went straight for the Mad Dog (the price includes additional toppings if you want to add more) and added in some extra toppings. The crust is very thin but the unlimited toppings of my choosing makes up for that. Overall, the food here gets a 5/5. Service: Very mediocre service here. You get in line, tell the person what you want in your pizza, and then you wait for them to call your name. The issue is that it is difficult for them to hear to call your name. They literally just yell out your name and if you in a party just chatting away, then well there is a good chance you are going to miss it. I wish they have a speaker where you can hear your name being called. Service gets a 3/5. Price: For basically $8, you get an 11' customized (well except the crust) pizza for your enjoyment. As long as you don't just get a cheese pizza, the food justifies its price. Overall: An interesting idea of customizing your pizza for a good price. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. Overall, this place gets a 4/5. read more

It's pretty much like what most people say, a "Chipotle" for pizza. There are so many varieties to choose from. You could go with what's on the menu, or simply make your own. The best part about making your own pizza is that you can add however many toppings as you'd like and there's no additonal charge. I came in tonight pretty clueless while looking at the menu on the wall, but the kind lady working behind the counter was able to assist me and answer all of my questions. She was very informative and definitely knew her stuff. The pizzas are also very affordable. For a mod size (11 in.) and only $7.49, you could feed yourself. I wasn't able to finish the pizza even though I was pretty hungry, but no worries, because you can pack it up with the little boxes they provide. Their fountain drink is a bit pricey though. $1.97 for a really small cup? I think I'd rather not. Also, my pizza was a little overbaked; it was kind of burnt on the edges and under the pizza compared to the other pizza ordered. read more

MOD Pizza was actually a pleasant surprise. The first time I came through I was a bit hesitant mainly b/c I tried a similar pizza spot awhile ago and really didn't care for it. So I figured, I'll try another "Chipotle-style" pizza place and if I don't like it, I just won't return. Well, I actually really like this place...so much so that I've dined here 3 times this week. If you like thin, crispy crust, then this is the place for you. You add the type of sauce you want and the toppings (or you can choose from their own special creations). The toppings are fresh, which is a plus, and you pay one flat price depending on the size of pizza (so you can go crazy with toppings and it won't cost you any extra!!). The first and third time I came through I ordered a mini and customized it. The second time I stepped it up to a mod (medium) and that was enough for lunch and a slice left for dinner. The other great thing is that the pizza is filling, but you don't feel stuffed!! Another great part to MOD are the drinks, specifically the lemonade and house-made iced tea. I purposefully dined in on my 3rd trip so that I could get a refill on my lemonade/iced tea mix. Few other notes: The cinnamon strips were tasty. Get them at least once. If you can, let your pizza sit for a minute. It may cool down but at least your toppings won't fall off! Prepare to wait a little after placing and paying for your order. The staff are pretty cool, so that's a bonus! Try the red sauce and pesto for your sauce...they put just enough of both on and it's quite a tasty combo. Next time I'll try one of their special creations instead of building my own. This place has become one of my favorite spots in Houston. I'm still looking for the best pizza spot, but this will do for now! read more

Vegetarian review: MOD Pizza is an excellent place to eat for pizza. It's like a "Chipotle" for pizza. The crust is excellent and for vegetarians, the topping options are perfect. The service is fairly fast (15-20 min) and the "MOD" size is best for an individual. 2017 Update: I'm a regular at MOD's and I tend to eat at a branch on a monthly basis. This started at 11 am and I'm still on the phone at 11:40am with the Rep. so at 11:47 my order is finally placed with a little bit of confusion between to Reps in the call center.
