MOD Pizza is a nationwide chain just like Blaze Pizza that has recently made its way to Houston. Kind of like the Chipotle or Subway of pizza in that everything is customizable and they make your pizza at a counter right in front of you before putting it in a wood-fire grill that will have your pizza ready in 7-8 minutes. There is a large parking lot and MOD is a casual type spot. They have several pizzas, salads, etc. you can choose from or you can make your own and add as many toppings as you would like. You pick your sauce, cheese, meat toppings, veggies, etc. and they also have several drizzles you can add to your pizza like pesto, BBQ, Sriracha, and ranch. I went with a MOD pizza (medium) with mozzarella, grilled chicken, meatballs, bacon, sundried tomatoes, croutons, and pesto drizzle. Yup I put croutons on my pizza! Didn't end up being too good of an idea as the oven made the croutons even crispier and slightly burned buy hey I'll give myself an A for creativity. A medium pizza isn't too large and the pizza is thin crust but it's definitely enough to fill you up. One slightly annoying thing. They ask for your name when you order and a lady yells your name when your pizza is ready. Hearing her scream random names every five minutes gets old pretty fast so it'd be nice if they developed another system for getting you your pizza i.e. bringing it to your table, using a device, etc. read more

So today the hubbs, Luci S. and I came here for lunch for an after-church treat. As I was checking out and paying for our meal, the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted to add cinnamon or garlic sticks. I was craving some pizza and found MOD on Yelp. It was highly rated so why not. Personally I love the build your own pizza concept. Also my 5 year old loves building his own pizza. The process is simple, you go in and you can choose a prebuilt pizza or build your own. You choose the size, cheese, sauce, meats, veggies, ingredients. These pizzas are made on very thin dough, almost like flat bread pizzas after they are baked. My pizza tasted bland despite having ample toppings. I would not order Mega over MOD size pizza. The mega is about 3-4 dollars more, the same size pizza but they put another level of thin dough with light sauce and cheese. not worth the extra money in my opinion. Garlic strips were the thin dough (again), seemed to be sprinkled with garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Tasted just like you would imagine. Pizzas here definitely look better than they taste. I was able to create a pizza that I could eat and enjoy. I ordered the mini 6" with pesto drizzled across the crust, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, bacon, spicy sausage, roasted red peppers, with feta cheese. Talk about awesome!!! The ingredients were really fresh and flavorful. My daughter and hubby ordered the MOD size which is 11". He loaded it up with spicy items and my daughter was traditional pepperoni and sausage. As a meat lover, I went straight for the Mad Dog (the price includes additional toppings if you want to add more) and added in some extra toppings. The crust is very thin but the unlimited toppings of my choosing makes up for that. Overall, the food here gets a 5/5. Service: Very mediocre service here. You get in line, tell the person what you want in your pizza, and then you wait for them to call your name. The issue is that it is difficult for them to hear to call your name. They literally just yell out your name and if you in a party just chatting away, then well there is a good chance you are going to miss it. I wish they have a speaker where you can hear your name being called. Service gets a 3/5. Price: For basically $8, you get an 11' customized (well except the crust) pizza for your enjoyment. So I know it's Easter Sunday and I'm at work trying to figure out what I'm going to eat for lunch. While scrolling through my phone I see an email saying free delivery this weekend, therefore I decided to call. My first question was does MOD pizza actually delivers are is it door dash or Uber eats. I was specifically told it was delivery drivers for MOD. So I proceeded to order since that was the case. This started at 11 am and I'm still on the phone at 11:40am with the Rep. so at 11:47 my order is finally placed with a little bit of confusion between to Reps in the call center. So I'm patiently waiting for my order, now at exactly 1:18 pm I received a call I guess from the store stating that we don't deliver, oh WOW! REALLY!!!! Im soo done with MOD Pizza. One time they brought me three different pizzas three different times bc they didn't want to refund me bc it went thru another party even though i ordered on their app. I eventually ended up having to go drive to the location to pick up and still got charged for me wanting a pizza that took them three hours to fix. The pizza is a lot of bang for the buck. Two Mod pizzas (11") costed us $17 and some change. My negative with them is that they don't have as many toppings that I like as other places do. However, that's personal preference and I devoured it so it can't be that bad! My favorite part about their pizzas are the finishes at the end. She was very informative and definitely knew her stuff. The pizzas are also very affordable. For a mod size (11 in.) and only $7.49, you could feed yourself. I wasn't able to finish the pizza even though I was pretty hungry, but no worries, because you can pack it up with the little boxes they provide. Their fountain drink is a bit pricey though. $1.97 for a really small cup? I think I'd rather not. So since my last visit I decided to give this location one more chance and they failed me again! Last night my friend and I stopped by here to get a quick pizza for the night. It was a tad rush going but nothing outlandish. However, instead of one person having a terrible attitude the entire crew had one. Starting with the first person whose job is to just write my name on the paper to the person tossing it in the oven. You'd think that they just saw the kid who bullied them in elementary inside giving them revenge eyes. Just so negative and rude. My pizza was made out of hate and despite instead of love.
