I'm a "pizza needs a minimum of 5 toppings" kind of woman. So when my bestie described this as the "Chipotle of pizzas", I was all in! They have a plethora of toppings- meats, veggies, cheeses galore! I tried to get more of a feel before getting in line so I wouldn't hold it up. Super unsuccessful. Lol, my WiFi was working against me. I must have looked like a deer in headlights when it was my time because the lady asked immediately if it was my first visit. She explained how it worked and from there I composed greatness! They put all the toppings in front of you and put your pizza in the oven, which is unique too. We went there on a Sunday after church. Pretty busy time but we successfully found a booth and dined in. They also have outside seating available. Gorgeous day so it was crowded as well. I got a regular size pizza instead of the mini so I would have leftovers. Tasted even better warmed in the oven the next day. I got dang near all the veggies on mine. Some of my highlights for toppings were broccoli, corn and roasted red peppers. I totally missed cilantro which would have been perfect with mine but maybe next time. Next time I'd get mega dough, which double double the crust. For the amount of topping I had it would help. Then again, the crust was pretty bland so doubling it up may not be the best option. Lol. MODs pizza is a perfect place for lunch or dinner with friends or family because it's affordable and the pizzas can be "modded" to suit just about anyone's taste buds. I normally order an 11" size for $7.47 and stack on as much veggies and meats as I can (unlimited toppings at no extra charge! woo!). You can be as creative as you want, but from experience I learned that sometimes too much isn't a good thing since not all ingredients go well with each other. My latest creation had sausage, pepporoni, chicken, ham, bell peppers, mushrooms, basil, onions, olives, and a few chick peas. Awesomeness in a circle. If you aren't feeling creative, no worries - they have pre-selected signature pizza's on the menu as well. Each pizza parlor I visted differs mostly in their crust, sauce, and cheese. I find that MOD Pizza has a very thin crust that helps cook the pizza to a cripsy bite each time. I wouldn't say that this type of crust is better or worse than other pizza parlors I've been to (i.e. Lunas or Pizaro), but different in a good way. The sauce and cheese here doesn't stand out as much, but still gets a thumbs up. Ingredient toppings taste fresh too. A major plus to this place is that they don't obligate you to leave a tip. I noticed that most coffee shops and now restaurants use iPads to check customers out which allows customers to tip the cashier with just a click of a button. Some even have a smiley face next to the 15% button! For places that don't even offer service, it still makes me feel obligated to leave a tip. They don't do that here. You just swipe your card and get a receipt! Seems fair too because you pick up your own food and clean up your own table. Nice and affordable. Finally had my first MOD experience! I was pleasantly surprised. Their menu isn't large and overwhelming and if you don't see anything that catches your eye, you can build your own. I went with the pizza of the month which was the Ruthie. It consisted of red sauce, pepperoni, I believe both Parmesan and mozzarella, jalepenos, and hot honey. I really like the concept of a custom built pizza place, and MOD pizza definitely does a very good job in the variety of veggies/cheese/sauces/meats that they offer, all for an affordable price of about $8 for a 11" pizza. You seriously can't go wrong when the place lets you pretty much customize your own meal. And if you didn't like your meal, you really have only yourself to blame. I also appreciate that there's no limit on the number of toppings and the toppings are all very fresh. On top of that, you can add as many meats as you want at no additional charge! That's quite a rarity for pizza places in my humble opinion. I got the MOD pizza salad, which is basically a salad (you get to choose what you want in the salad, unlimited) topped over a fresh baked asiago pizza. They let me change the asiago to mozarella, and the combination turned out really well! The pizza salad is pricier compared to just getting a pizza or a salad (about $10 versus $8), but I really liked that my "pizza" was full of fresh veggies of my own choosing. I think from now on I will be tossing a salad at home, and topping it over some fresh baked cheese pizza as well. Yum! My husband built his own 11" pizza and that was delicious too. They also serve beer and dessert shakes, but we were too full for anything else. Service is prompt, although I do agree with other yelpers that it was very difficult to hear them call your name when your order is ready. It might be easier to use a number system (think DMV) as I was starting to feel bad for the worker yelling out names in this already noisy atmosphere. The only reason this place only gets a 4/5 star is because I was thirsty for hours after our meal. When I looked up the nutrition fact, I was shocked to find that one pizza crust has 1323mg of sodium! No wonder it left me guzzling water like a camel? a bear? you get the idea. Yeah, for what it's worth it was very delicious and a great experience. Literally the Chipotle of pizza kitchens, you choose your base and load the ingredients in assembly line style. There is not limit at all! So many choices, but the world is yours! Affordable as well, mini (6") was $4.87 and regular (10/11") was ~$7, so it's not a bad deal at all! I can vouch what I did buy, I got a mini and wish I got more. Although the mini is perfect for a nice lunch without leftovers. The service was good and the pizza came out fairly quick. You pick 1 of 3 sizes for your pizza, your sauces, cheese, and toppings. All for one price! You can add as many toppings as you want! I love the white & BBQ sauce. Everything about this place is amazing. I usually don't like thin pizzas because I'm more of a "hand-crust" kind of girl and I like my crust to be all bready. I'll leave this place as an exception because of the unlimited toppings and it's just so good. If you like dipping your pizza with ranch but you want a bit of spice, I recommend asking for the Sriracha ranch. Yum. I've also tried their garlic sticks and they're pretty good too. My boyfriend and I were pretty hungry when we got here so we decided to order the Mega MOD pizza (MOD pizza on double crusts) for $10.47. Our pizza started off with one pizza covered in tomato sauce and mozzarella with another pizza layered on top of it. We were a little weary when we saw the size, but a few workers assured us that it would be enough to fill both of us up. MOD gives you the option to choose one of their combinations or you can choose your own toppings. We decided to choose our own toppings so we can have exactly what we wanted. On we go to our toppings! Our pizza consisted of pepperoni, bacon, spicy sausage, arugula, spinach, bacon, oregano, more mozzarella, and more bacon for good measure. In case you can't tell, we love our bacon. :). Once we were done customizing our pizza, it was time to play the waiting game... We waited.. and waited.. and finally our pizza was done! That was the longest 7 minutes of our lives! The pizza actually came out a lot quicker than we were expecting considering our experiences at other pizza restaurants. The crust was so crispy and the crunch from each bite was like music to our ears. The double crusts reminded me of Pizza Hut's stuffed crust, but even better since the cheesy goodness was throughout the entire pizza. Sadly, this pizza was nowhere near enough to fill either of us up. Pick your pizza sauce base (red, white, pesto, bbq, garlic) and cheese/toppings/dressings. I like how there's no extra costs for what you put on the pizza - so put as much meat and veges as you like! Place your pizza order and take a seat. They'll call your name to pick up your pizzas. There were 7 people working at the time, but they were still trying to get the process straightened out. There are to-go boxes by the soda fountain machine if you can't finish. Crust is definitely thin and nothing like you would get w/ a real chained pizza place like Papa Johns or Pizza Hut. The cheese and toppings sometimes slide off the dough because the crust was so thin so at times I was just eating a plain piece of bbq sauced dough since everything fell off to my plate. The dough doesn't rise so it doesn't have that o-so cheesiness you get from pizza that takes more than 5 mins to make. Overall, I like the new concept and the faster option of getting a personal sized pizza that you really can't go wrong w/ how your pizza tastes since you're the person putting things you like on it. However, after experiencing it, we would only go if we wanted a quick personal sit down place for pizza. There are lots of meat, veggie, and spice choices to select. All I saw were pretty standard. Today I ordered the "Mod"-sized (which was basically a regular) pizza with red sauce, mozzarella, grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, green bell peppers, and a pesto drizzle at the end. The finished product was tasty but nothing special. It honestly took longer to wait in line and order the pizza than it did to bake it. Therefore I used that time to scope-out the place. Things appeared on until I saw some bags of what I assume was trash on a cart outside of the kitchen and in plain sight! That was a real turn off but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that it was about to be taken out to a large trash bin. My friends took me here for a quick bite of food before going to look at the Christmas lights in The Heights. I wasn't really hungry, but when I took a bite, I just kept eating. Delicious pizza! This is set up similar to Subway and Chipotle, where you can order a specific pie and add toppings or "make-your-own", all in an assembly-line fashion - yep they do everything right in front of you - from meats to cheese to veggies to sauce (garlic butter is the way to go). You can select from a personal pie or a large one, thin or thick crust. Quality ingredients and the entire place is super clean. Service was quick, staff were friendly. I highly recommend this place. Staff is always positive and they think smart when there is crowd. By smart, I mean they know when to divide the stations into two and help two customers at a time. I went to go pick up a mobile order and I was told by a staff member that the dough had been changed from thin crust to regular bread dough. This location used to be top-notch. Not sure what happened. As I type this there is a knife on the floor, and a free range pill in one of the booths. The employee who made our pizza had a sour attitude. I wasn't done with my toppings when she moved on to the next person. Not to mention I asked for a mini and she gave me a mod. The lettuce at the beginning of the line looked old and dirty. Not fresh at all. Not something you want to see when there is an E. Coli outbreak going on with lettuce right now. This week, I visited the Mod Pizza in Webster for the 1st time. I ordered the meat and mushroom mini pizza. When the employee asked if I wanted other toppings, I told him bell peppers, thinking they would be cooked. Instead they were added raw, which I didn't enjoy. Bad first impression of Mod if this is typical. I waited for about 25 minutes for my pizza then was handing a cold pie. It was very busy so I didn't think much of the wait but when they called my name the guy serving asked me to confirm it was in fact the pizza I ordered. I confirmed then went to sit down. It was then that I realized it was barely warm. When I brought it to the managers attention I was told that they lost the sheet with my name on it and it took a while to figure out my name. Mod Pizza is located in the middle of Zoe's Kitchen and Chang's Chinese restaurant. Definitely one of my favorite pizza places. I usually opt in for a Mod (medium) sized pizza and a side salad. The great thing about MOD is that you aren't hit with a bunch of up-charges for adding on ingredients, such as you would from any other pizza joint. The ingredients are all part of the price - this is ESPECIALLY sweet, considering the freshness of the ingredients. They do have several choices of pizza you can choose from, kinda how other places have meat lovers or vegetarian, but you can also BYO pizza, which is what I do! Definitely a great place for customer service! How I'm treated goes a long way for me!!! The friendly staff is always more than willing to help you with your menu choice. So why -1 star? Kind of like the Chipotle or Subway of pizza in that everything is customizable and they make your pizza at a counter right in front of you before putting it in a wood-fire grill that will have your pizza ready in 7-8 minutes. There is a large parking lot and MOD is a casual type spot. They have several pizzas, salads, etc. you can choose from or you can make your own and add as many toppings as you would like. You pick your sauce, cheese, meat toppings, veggies, etc. and they also have several drizzles you can add to your pizza like pesto, BBQ, Sriracha, and ranch. I went with a MOD pizza (medium) with mozzarella, grilled chicken, meatballs, bacon, sundried tomatoes, croutons, and pesto drizzle. Yup I put croutons on my pizza! Didn't end up being too good of an idea as the oven made the croutons even crispier and slightly burned buy hey I'll give myself an A for creativity. They ask for your name when you order and a lady yells your name when your pizza is ready.
