Let me first say, that I love firehouse subs! But today was a hurtful experience. This new technology such as ordering food online is the future and and I like keeping up! So, there was a special where if you ordered online you get two for one. When the drive thru told me that, I pulled over to a parking space and proceeded with the online app. It was a little complicated and I was on my lunch break so I went in. This was at the location at 22556 Tomball Pkwy. The manager helped me with placing my online order only to find out that I was only receiving one sub. The manager has no customer service skills and told me that I didn't do it right so I requested to cancel my order and he immediately proceeded to the register to cancel my order. I love firehouse and there was no way that I was walking out of there with my sub! Sometimes in customer service you have to ask probing questions, like why in the hell are you trying to place an order online when you're in the store with no one in line? Apparently, he just works there and didn't realize I was looking for the special. Anyway I ended up with two cold subs and 15 minutes late returning to work. Disappointed with the service. Located in the Echo Land Shopping Center along I-10 and Bunker Hill, Firehouse Subs provides great sandwiches that are slightly over-priced. I would have given it a 4 star for the quality of the food, but I had to knock it down to a 3 because of the wait time for my sandwich. I don't know why it took almost 25 minutes to receive my sandwich, and there was only a couple of people in the restaurant. Other than the wait, the staff was nice, but very slow as mentioned in my previous statement. There was plenty of parking to be found in the parking lot, and it's a nice area to be in as well. First time today. The roast beef was disgusting. Not fresh at all. Maybe it had been left out. Couldn't finish. Lady had an attitude about salt & pepper saying she received to many complaints from stupid customers. This location I tried today was dirty (floors and tables), got my name wrong (even though I used my points and my name is on the ticket), the sandwich was sloppy, no flavor and had items on it I asked to be removed (onions). I was disappointed with this experience especially since I thought FHS were all the same as my home location. The food and cleanliness (lack of) needs attention! The parking at this location is pretty bad and after my experience, so not worth the hassle. What a shame. I love FHS's Engineer sandwiches, but this one today was very disappointing. If I never had the pleasure of a wonderful FHS and this was my first experience, I would never enter another location ever. My location near home was given 5 start when I reviewed them. Ordered the firehouse brisket. The amount of meat is laughable. Mostly bread and bad cheese. Hard to believe they served this trash.

The food is "sub" par. The food is always bad here. The service is horrendous. The guy making the sandwiches needs to shut up and not interject when speaking to management staff. By far the best Firehouse subs in town. This place is always packed, so expect a line if you swing by during lunch. No worries though. The service is quick and courteous. They go out of their way to get you in and out as soon as possible. A couple of mounted televisions have ESPN or some other sports channel airing nonstop to keep you occupied while you wait on your order. When it's ready, they yell your name and you know your food is ready to go. I usually take the interim period to mix and match using their Coke Freestyle machine. I've seen these guys pop-up around town and finally got a chance to drop in yesterday when we were pinched for time. The name should've tipped me off that it's a fireman theme here. I didn't give it too much thought I guess, bus yes--when you walk in you immediately read that the chain was founded by firemen. If the sign doesn't help, the decor will drive the point home. I grabbed the New York Steamer, which as their menu describes is, "Corned Beef Brisket and Pastrami, made famous by the Delicatessens of New York served hot with Provolone, Mayo, Mustard and Italian Dressing." Yum! I got the smaller one and it wasn't gigantic, which is nice. Others may beg to differ. My only beef with the sandwich is that the bread was very meh. It was a pretty decent hot sandwich--especially with this dreary March cold we're having. What gives? The icing on the cake for me was sitting in front of a painting at this location and trying to figure out what was going on in the scene. So there's a fire and firemen valiantly extinguishing this sizable safety threat. Sounds fitting no? This is Firehouse after all! Recently visited this location with one of my sons. I had foot long Turkey & Swiss, son a small meatball. Both were excellent, manager behind counter said hi when we walked in. The subs were really fresh & tasty. Some sub places I have been to the bread like rock, not here. I tried 4 different 'hot' sauces. Melindas, Bee Sting, Amazon Green & Liquid Stupid. I like to try different sauces each time here, and make notes of them, of which I posted on facebook, but won't publish here as kids might be looking of the Liquid Stupid sauce. The Melindas sauce and other three great. We went at off time so not busy. Will be back again as am trying a different sub each time visit. The guy who work on Sunday said I need to pay if I want sauce more than 4. I can not believe it. How cheap they are!!! The main reason that I like firehouse sub is the sauce. Firehouse has stiff competition in Houston with all the other restaurants like Potbelly's, Whichwich, BrownBagDeli, and all of the other local and franchise deli's. I like how their meat is steamed which keeps it nice and tasty and definitely moist. I had the club and the husband had the beef and cheddar with bbq sauce. The club was pretty tasty with honey ham and crispy bacon. The bread was a bit soft for my taste... I like my bread a little more toasted and crunchy on the outside. I do like how they have a huge line-up of hot sauces but it's not enough to make this a great sandwich place.
