I'm definitely late to the game on the custom Pizza trend, I'd been wanting to try one for a while and finally did. I like that if you order their medium size pizza all toppings are the same price. There are lots of options and the ingredients seemed fresh. I will say at first sight I thought the crust was going to be too thin to hold the toppings, but I was proven wrong. I ordered the 11' mod pizza with red sauce, mozzarella, spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, green pepper, basil, roasted garlic and topped with siracha ranch. I didn't take a picture because I grabbed it on the road... but it was yummy! The roasted garlic was an overpowering flavor after a few bites but I took that off and really enjoyed the pizza! I had a MOD mini which is a 6" personal pizza pie. You can put whatever toppings you want, however much you want, all at one low price of $5 +tax. They cook the pizza for you in an oven, and then ask you if you want sauce on top of it after. The pizza is thin crust and tastes like how you would make pizza at home! You can tell if they're fresh or not and these were very fresh and very good. They have a plethora of toppings so if you can't find something you like here, you're an alien from another planet The crust is machine flattened and very thin but still good. It's more flatbread than dough I think. They fire the pizza up in a cool round like oven that cooks it in just a few minutes. Not sure if it's wood fired or gas or what but it seems to work very well. The decor of MOD is nice. Kinda warm but in a fast food type style. The staff here are uber friendly! My daughter has a dairy allergy so I asked for the gloves to be changed when preparing her pizza as the girl preparing our food had JUST dipped her hands in the dairy for the prior order. MOD Pizza is almost an exact replica of Blaze Pizza. (In fact the entire time I was there I kept thinking they were two peas in a pod.) The concept is pretty simple: order a personal pizza with as many toppings as you want for one price. You can't really go wrong with such an easy system. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place wasn't that busy. The staff were friendly and explained everything. I enjoyed the endless options when it came to the topping as well as multiple sauce choices. This location is great for before/after a movie or shopping. Not an awful experience, but also a place that I wouldn't return to for a second visit. We are in town from LA and like another review said this place was similar to Blaze pizza on the west coast. Similar in the sense that they copied the idea, but forgot to copy the quality, the customer service, and the value. We called in an order for pick up and the guy on the phone seemed annoyed that we asked all of two questions before our order. I don't understand that. I am calling to give you my business and you act like I asked you to help me move. Second issue is the quality, the pizza is cut into fourths and one of the slices didn't have half the toppings on it. How do you miss 25% of the pizza? We also ordered a chocolate toffee milkshake which consisted of the annoyed guy at the counter squeezing some cheap chocolate sauce in the bottom of a cup before adding basic soft serve and the tiniest scoop toffee. Came out thick as a DQ blizzard but with half the flavor. If we were dining in we would have returned it. Flavor of the pizza was decent, not awful but not memorable either. It's the kinda thing I would eat if someone gave it to me, but not something I would go out and get myself. I will give them props on the decor and the speed. It's a good concept and they are close. Parking is a challenge that's true - esp. during busy times. The people behind the counter were nice enough, as noted, and we were served promptly. Given the plethora of pizza options for build your own I have become slightly pickier in my pizza - I want great tasting vegan cheese (well, as good as it can be) and this was pretty flavorless. Not bad, admittedly I was first introduced to the BYO pizza from Blaze pizza. Here it's almost the exact same except for slight differences in toppings and drizzle. Oh and they all yell a very loud "Hello!" to each customer that walks in. Bonus is that they even offer garlic sticks for a side. Their crust is thin and crispy but I guess I prefer mine to have a chewy texture like they have at Blaze. Fortunately for them, they are located closer than Blaze and opening up one in Bowie which is even closer. They even have a gluten free crust for not only those who actually have celiac's disease but those on the fad bandwagon. Sometimes people just want any reason to be dramatic, complain and give less stars. That person probably feels every eyelash and hair that falls off her body and goes looking for it. I'm sure they would've made another pizza, but like I said people just want reasons to complain- anyways... To me their opinion is irrelevant the staff was super kind, knowledgeable, prompt and accommodating. I am glad this place replaced Three Brothers Pizza as it was probably the worst pizza I have ever experienced. The decor is minimalist but has lots of tables and a super friendly staff. If you are a cheese or one topping kind of person, than this place may not appeal to you as you won't get much bang for your buck. There are multiple vegetable, meat, herb, dressing, drizzle, sauce, and cheese options all for one price. I went with a 10" crust, regular tomato sauce, mozzarella, asiago, sausage, mushroom, onion, olive, and green pepper. The staff person delivered the pizza to me probably because I was only one of two customers there (it was still morning). Anyway, it was a nice gesture. I was super pleased when it arrived, as it looked like a perfectly executed pie. Now my guy was not stingy with the toppings unlike Subway which puts about 3 slices of black olives on my sandwich. Every slice was loaded up and the thin nicely charred crust was able to withstand the weight. I could only eat half, but I figured it would make a nice lunch the next day. The vegetables tasted super fresh and the balance of ingredients were spot on. Every bite was as good as the next. For this type of a concept restaurant, I thought the experience was excellent. The various quality ingredients were numerous and diverse. As another yelper mentioned, the meats weren't as appealing, and my sausage did resemble the ubiquitous rabbit droppings found in almost every Maryland pizza place, but it still had some flavor and managed to contribute to the overall taste experience. Came into Mod's today with my coworkers for lunch. I chose to create my own Mod pizza. Seriously some of the most delicious pizza I have ever had. They have a great selection of toppings and you can pretty much customize your pizza with whatever you want. This is my third time visiting this location and each time the restaurant was clean, the staff greets you when you walk in, my pizza was ready quickly, and the prices are definitely easy on the pocket. Grab a tortilla, pick your fillings, etc. This is the same exact restaurant but change the tortilla to a paper thin pizza crust. No thick crust. Not a lot of variation. Just basic pizza. McPizza.
