MOD was clean and quiet. My grandson was with me so we used their high chair. MOD had plenty. They were clean, including straps, and sturdy. Important stuff. We had a MOD 11 inch pizza with multiple toppings chosen by my adventurous daughter. Still it was very good and served up quickly. I also ordered an 11inch pizza to take home to my husband. There are never the same employees, and the woman who made our pizzas had to be told how much sauce to use, and to add more toppings. She had a bad attitude, and the place is roll the dice, but we are not returning because you never know what quality of pizza @ $15.00 for an 11" pie, is going to be. I've only been to this chain a couple of times, but it has always hit the spot. This location in Annapolis, Maryland was no exception. The staff was very high energy and positive. They were accommodating to the requests we had for our meal. We got a cauliflower crust and my husband built his side with the toppings he likes, and I did the same on my half. It didn't take long to bake and they offered us a variety of sauces on the side. We got ranch and red sauce, but it would've been just as good without it. Great fast pizza, authentic Italian style with a very thin crust and wide range of toppings. The decor wasodern and pretty spartan, and it was clean and smelled nice, as a pizzeria should. This has been a solid pizza joint each time we've visited. I'm a fan of the "build-your-own" style of fast food service like Chipotle, Mod Pizza, and others. This place doesn't disappoint. You like Hawaiian pizza but you feel it would be better with both ham AND bacon, plus onion and hot peppers? Go for it! The sky's the limit! They have pre-chosen selections if you can't make up your mind, but nothing is pre-made. Each pie is assembled fresh in front of you and baked right away. I've never had a bad pizza here... probably because I'm always making it my way! They also do salads in the same method, but if I'm being honest, I don't come here for the salads. (And there's a Chopt right across the parking lot, so... yeah). I also like their unique beverages. This location is pretty consistent and the staff have been friendly in my experiences. The pizza here is kind of like a thin crust that's half crispy half normal - if you've never tried Mod before. Ordering is always quick since it's an assembly line, tell them what you want on it style and they fast oven bake it in front of you. My go to pizza here has always been the dillon james or mad dog (11in), both are excellent!! This time I went w/ bbq sauce to change it up (mozzarella, asiago, chicken, pineapple, green peppers, and chicken jalapeño sausage). The bbq sauce is good & the mikes hot honey finishing sauce went great with it. The chicken jalapeño sausage said limited edition so I would def recommend trying that, it was tasty. read more

Pizza was great but service was not so great. I'm there were about 6-7 people yet the line long and not moving. They had one person making salads and pizza and also ringing people up. I asked for a little bit more mozzarella because the girl making it hardly put any one and she told me I could ask later once all the toppings were on. Went with a group for dinner and this place delivered. There really aren't any booths, it's just standard chairs and tables and bit smaller than some other MODs. And the parking is tough- this shopping area may have everything for everyone, but that makes it always tricky to get parking. Definitely something new here. Take the "Moe's" model, and apply the idea to pizza instead of burritos. You now have quickly prepared GOOD pizza. With great customer service. They have the pre-determined pies, still made fresh, or if you're feeling froggy, they have the build your own. I went the froggy route and wasn't disappointed in the least. The pricing was very reasonable, especially for a fresh medium pizza. The "no-name" cakes make a great dessert, tasting suspiciously like a plus-size Little Debbie cake. The pie was done in minutes, and hit me exactly the way I wanted. The music is a mix of moldies and classic rock, and the noise level tolerable. I could see it getting a little loud on a busy night. Not a bad quick lunch. They have just opened and are staffed with an army of employees. We opted for two regular sized pies and a small salad. While they make it on demand, you will probably find you need to tell them "more" for any topping you select. A single ladle of red sauce is far from enough to cover the crust. It bakes in maybe 90 seconds. A large variety of toppings and while the veggies are fresh though scant, then meats are all pre-cooked kibble and bits. Nice selection of fountain drinks and tea. It's pizza, it's fast, and service is good. Price is right, it's simple, and you get to pick your toppings and size of pizza. It's highly personal when you can make all these choices. I have had good luck with service every time I have been (about five times), and the store is always clean. Parking can be challenging at times, but I have never had to walk far. We got many stickers too from the people that worked there (my kids loved this) and they were able to put their names and whatever on it and stick them around the store. It seems to be condoned. Then, you can even have a few finishing touches added. If you are indecisive or creative, then you can get one of their specified pizzas but what fun is that when you have the opportunities for limitless toppings? Once you have your pizza, grab a drink and pick your seat. Beverages at this Pacific Northwest chain include Coca-Cola fountain sodas, iced teas and lemonades. Seating is first come first serve with plenty of space for families. Despite the many hard surfaces, the interior was not too loud, even on a Saturday night. Mod Pizza pales in comparison to my beloved DC based &pizza, but it is still worth of four stars and is a welcome addition to Annapolis. read more

The app is useful, they inform you about ongoing promotions, and you can save your pizza creations to remember what you ordered previously. The reason I took off 2 stars was because-- 1) Theres a 9/10 chance you'll be waiting 20mins for a 5min pizza 2) Even with online orders they tend to get backed up - I always end up waiting in the pick up line, even tho I ordered online 3) The times I'm not waiting in the pick up line, my pizza wasn't cooked yet Honestly the employees work hard, and the food is great. I like the pizza here, and it is relatively quick (but never as quick as I anticipate- maybe I should start ordering ahead). I like that you can customize it but they also have pre-made selections that makes ordering easy (I hate the make-your-own-food-with-no-guidance movement- if I was great at it, I'd just make my own cool new delicious pizzas at home). They were being thoughtful about COVID and have some outdoor seating. My only complaint is that it is hard to get employees attention when anything goes wrong after ordering. For example, I wanted some sweet n low for my unsweetened iced tea, and the table with the materials on it was sort of behind the counter and had a sign that said to ask an employee for anything and not to get it yourself. It took me probably 10 minutes to get someone's attention- there was a huge line of people at the cashiers on the other side of the room, and I felt weird cutting in line, and the only other person was the guy pulling pizzas in and out of the oven (who also was working his butt off without a break). I then wanted an iced tea refill halfway through my pizza, and there was a sign saying to ask an employee for a new cup, not to reuse it. It took me another solid 10 minutes to get his attention and I felt so bad interrupting the pizza oven guy. If they could have one more person floating between customers who need help and the cashier line, I think that would be really helpful for customer service. I typically have a great experience with this location. The last day I went (yesterday) it was a bit eh. It was clear two of the employees working directly with customers were new employees which also was a sucker punch to the guy because I was hoping to hear back from the manager about a position. I was supposed to come in Monday at 2 and I was there at 110pm so I called into the business to see if I could come inside early for the interview but manager had to take off for an emergency (understandable). She would call me the next day around 9am and I happily obliged. Never got that call and if I had I'm sure the line would've been moving effortlessly. The new employees needed some work hopefully in time they'll be better. One lady couldn't speak English fluently and had to get the other lady to help interpret the letters I was repeating to spell my name. MOD Pizza - Made my own - Pizza Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

I decided to check this place out because it's closer than going to Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza in Laurel, but these two places are pretty much the same. However, after trying pizzas from both places I definitely prefer Blaze. These are the things I like better from Blaze: they have a thick crust option (I hate thin crust, but even their thin crust was good), upgrading crust is cheaper here than at MOD, gluten-free crust option, vegan cheese, more topping options, and better lemonade (according to my friend). The things that MOD has that Blaze doesn't: More sauces to drizzle on your pizza afterwards (mmm Sri-rancha!!), garlic sticks and cinnamon sticks, and salad. Even though MOD has garlic sticks, it wasn't all that great. Their crust is way too thin for my taste and I upgraded my pizza to the mega pizza hoping the extra layer of crust on top would make it like thick crust, but it's not at all. What they do is put the sauce and cheese on one crust and then add another crust on top with sauce, cheese, and toppings. So it's supposed to be more filling, but definitely not a thick crust. The pizza was still good and I still enjoyed it, but Blaze left me craving it again later and MOD did not do that for me. I also asked for a side of ranch with my MOD pizza and the container wasn't even half-way full, so I definitely had to go ask for another one halfway through my pizza. I had to use it sparingly so that I wouldn't have to ask them so many times. I normally like to eat my pizza with ranch, but I realized at Blaze it was so good I didn't even remember to ask for ranch. If that's not a good indication of how good the pizza is, then I don't know what is. And maybe it's because MOD is fairly new, but they were out of bacon until the next day when my friend asked for it, and then she asked for a side of their alfredo sauce and they said they ran out and had to prep it. It seems like Blaze has their act together more, and my friend and I agreed that we'd rather make the trip all the way to Laurel next time. All in all, MOD isn't bad, it's good and still decently priced, but if it were a battle between Blaze and MOD, Blaze wins hands down to me. If you like your crust thin though, and MOD is much closer to you, then it's still a good option. read more
